Nika gasped. “How did you do that?”
Krystal sighed. “It was easy. I used my beyblade’s defense so as to not take damage while also using it’s speed to knock you away without taking any damage.”
Nika was speechless at her response, and attempted to respond, but couldn’t.
“Shut your mouth, you look like a fish.”
Nika responded angrily, “Three! Two! One! Let it...
Rip!” Krystal smiled at how angrily and forceful Nika’s “Rip!” was. Khione took the center, spinning strongly.
Nika had pulled out the strongest move in her arsenal, and had launched Nyke at a steep angle.
Nyke shot up the stadium, bouncing off the wall and gaining speed. Then it bounced off another wall and gained more speed and repeated, glowing golden. A golden star was formed by how fast it was moving.
“Ultra Victory Star Launch!” Nika roared.
Nyke’s star changed as it began to rapidly strike Khione. Krystal seemed slightly surprised at how Nyke was managing to damage Khione. “Smart, a rapid attack. Not quite smart enough, though.”
Her light blue eyes glowed a deep purple-blue. “Khione, Blizzard Wall!” Khione’s four blue blades parted, turning most of the perimeter blue. It began parrying the attacks that had once harmed it away.
Nyke began to wobble. “Now end this! Blizzard Hammer!” Khione swung up the stadium and burst Nyke.
Krystal smiled, but it was not a friendly smile. It was the cruelest, most heartless smile Nika had ever seen.
Krystal picked up Khione and walked away. “Meh, if that’s all this tournament has to offer, I’m leaving! Nika can go on!”
Nika’s eyes widened in shock. “What?!” Her and Drake said simultaneously.
Krystal simply laughed, a long, malicious, calculating laugh that rang throughout the building. Still shocked, Nika sat back with Drake. “Oh God, she’s a terrible person.” Drake said.
Nika smiled. “I know, but at least I’m moving on!”
“Yeah, but if she was able to resist your strongest attack, someone else could be able to do that as well.”
Nika frowned. Her strongest move could still be defeated by a strong enough defense, so she had to fix that soon.
While her and Drake were talking, they hadn’t noticed the battles going on, and all of a sudden it was her turn.
“Because of a, uh, slight miscount on my part when Golden Eye joined, there are three bladers moving on instead of two!” Dark’s voice came over the intercom, smooth and cunning.
Nika walked up to the stadium. Standing before her was Shade and Sola, her opponents. Shade had pale blue-white hair and held up a purple, intricately detailed masquerade-style mask over his face. Shade also had a small streak of dark purple through his hair.
Sola had dark orange hair with a light orange streak through it and also held up a masquerade-style mask, though hers was a bright red-orange with yellow details.
Shade smirked. “Hey sis, it looks like we’re battling again.” He clearly directed this to Sola.
Sola responded in a bitter, mocking voice, “You don’t need to battle, since I’ll easily beat you again!”
Shade grinned, and Nika stifled her laughter. Both of them looked at her.
“Sorry, you guys remind me of me and my brother.”
Sola arched an eyebrow, but decided to ignore it. “Three! Two! One! Let it...
Rip!” Sola’s bey was a bright yellow bey with small red details, and Nika noticed something off, but she couldn’t place it. Shade’s bey was a dark-purple blue with white details.
“Artemis, Paradox Bolt!” Artemis, the purple one, went flying towards Sola’s bey. “Easy, dodge it, Apollos!” Apollos, the yellow one, expertly dodged the attack. “Now claim our center!”
Apollos took the center, and Nika noticed what was off. Apollos was spinning counter-clockwise instead of clockwise like a standard bey. Surprised, she immediately called Nyke to use Ultra Victory Whip on Apollos.
Nyke rolled off Apollos, sending Apollos spinning faster. Nyke struck again, bouncing away. Nika reaches deep within herself, summoning all of her power in a final blow.
“Maximum Victory Whip!” Nyke used all of its force and channeled it all into one point, and then smashed into Apollos. Though Apollos specialized in sheer defensive ability, it could not withstand such a powerful attack, and went flying into the air.
Shade smirked. “Artemis, Moonlight Blow!” Artemis’ four blades glowed with an eerie, almost magical purple light as it struck the now-wobbling Nyke in the center.
Nyke rolled to a halt. Apollos fell back into the stadium, rolling down the slope and striking the stopped bey.
Nika realized what was happening and laughed. “An artificial launch should be able to take you two out! Drain her spin, Nyke!”
Nyke began to wobble, dragging along the slope of the stadium. After a few moments, Nyke was spinning upright, as if it had just been launched, and Apollos was spinning much weaker than before.
Sola was frowning. “Hang on, Apollos!”
Shade grinned darkly, black fire surrounding him. “Go, Artemis! Use Black Velvet Inferno!” Artemis was surrounded in black flames as it struck Apollos, easily bursting it.
“Shade, what did I tell you about using your dark energy? Don’t summon it if you’re battling me!”
Shade’s eyes widened as the dark flames vanished and he realized what he did. “I’m sorry, it just happened!”
“Nyke, let’s end this! Ultra Victory Whip!” One of Nyke’s blades glowed golden as it struck Artemis. Without any energy supporting it, it was unable to resist, and the purple parts were scattered throughout the stadium. Nika pumped her fist in the air.
“Yes! I am moving on to the B-Team!”
There was a loud, high pitched beep as the intercom reactivated. “Because of how well she performed and managed to take out two opponents, Nika will move past the B-Team to the A-Team if she can beat a member of the A-Team!”
Nika ran from the stadium to the bench, where Drake high-fived her. “Nice job!”
