Chapter 1

Miles woke up slowly. He was in the hospital. Nobody was in the room with him. He looked at the calendar on the wall, August 28th. He sat up quickly.
"How is that possible?" He thought to himself, "Last time I remember, it was December..."
Devin, Bryan, and Dan walked around the corner. Devin's bionic arms were new now, and he wore White rather than his usual red. Dan was still wearing his purple, but his hair was cut short, and he had his purple hat on backwards. Bryan's blonde hair was a little longer, almost drooping over one eye, and he still had the same orange shirt, blue jeans and black and white shoes.
Two other unfamiliar faces walked in too. The boy was a bit tall, wore a lime green shirt, blue jeans, and lime green shoes. He had short brown hair and green eyes. The girl was about Dan's height of five-foot-nine, wore a black tank top, black jeans, and white shoes, she had also dyed her long, straight hair white, too.
They all ran straight into the room as soon as they saw Miles. Bryan gave him a big hug. "Thank goodness you're finally awake!!" He said, relieved.
"How long was I out?" Miles asked, confused.
"You're not gonna believe this, but..." Devin answered, "...you've been in a coma for the last eight months..."
Miles froze and widened his eyes. "EIGHT MONTHS?!?!" he exclaimed, "How the hell did I go into a coma in the first place?!?!"
"Guys, lemme tell him privately..." Bryan requested. The others nodded and left, closing the door behind them.
"Well, Miles..." Bryan started, "It began with you finally finding R-Dev, all the way north in Brooklyn, New York. He yelled and insulted you who knows how much, we watched as you two finally began fighting on that snowy rooftop. I thought you were done for. However, you ended up winning, but..."
Silence.
"But what???" Miles asked.
"R-Dev..." Bryan said quietly, hanging his head, "he...he died after the fight. He had too many scars from Pegasis during the fight, and he bled out. You carried him back down to the first floor, crying and...then you passed out. I was so scared. I rushed you here, and they said you could be in a coma for forever. I sat here everyday, waiting for you to wake up. At least you had a chance to live, unlike R-Dev..."
Miles looked down, and started covering his head. "You mean, I...my bey...Pegasis...it killed R-Dev....??"
Bryan was silent, but slowly nodded.
Miles laid back down, shocked. "R-Dev...." Miles thought to himself, "You were a great friend, I wish....I wish I didn't do that to you. It's all my fault..." Tears came to Miles' eyes. Bryan hugged him and held him, trying to comfort him. "There was nothing you could have done to stop it." Bryan told Miles, "just lay here and relax a bit. We got more news to tell you later..."
Bryan let go of Miles, and let him lay down. "Let me know when you're ready to talk." Bryan said, smiling. Miles nodded and laid down, staring at the ceiling.

Miles laid there on the bed for a few hours, thinking. Finally, he collected himself and sat up. He turned and tried to stand and walk towards the door. "Good..." Miles thought, "At least I can still work right..."
He checked himself out and walked outside, where his friends were waiting.
"Miles!!" Bryan exclaimed, "You feel better?"
"Yeah..." Miles responded.
"Ready to talk?"
"Yeah..."
"Okay, ask any question you have!" Bryan responded.
"Well..." Miles started, "Who are these two people?" He pointed at the two unfamiliar faces.
The boy spoke first. "I'm Acieke," he started, "and I'm 16. I joined your friends here around a month ago."
The girl chimed in, "I'm Audrey, and I'm 15. I joined about a week ago. I'm Dan's girlfriend from Canada."
Miles nodded. That question was taken care of. "Where's Bri at?"
"She got accepted to an honor's school." Devin answered, "She's in Montreal now..."
"And Cloud?"
"He went international," Bryan responded, "looking for new bladers to fight all over the world. He meets up with us every now and then..."
"What about R-Dev's baddies?"
"They're kinda laying low after hearing that R-Dev died..." Dan answered, "No attacks from them since December..."
"Did any of you guys change beys?"
All of them nodded and pulled out their beys.
"Diablo Corona BD145 MF..." Devin said.
"Phantom Shade LW160 TB..." Dan answered.
"Cosmic Ara S130 RF..." Bryan showed next.
"Bri gave me her bey, still Meteo L-Drago TR145 EWD..." Audrey responded.
"And I have Basalt Haos F230 CS...." Acieke answered lastly. "Your bey changed again, too!" He pulled out a bey from his pocket and put it in Miles' hands. His eyes widened in shock.
It was Genbull Dragoon B : D. Everything about it except for the track was like R-Dev's. Same ruby red face, same shining silver-like metal, and then the dark black bearing drive. Miles clenched it, and he felt a new power run through his body. He felt like he was ready to beybattle again.
"This is amazing..." Miles said, slightly smiling. "I can't wait to dominate everybody!"
"Hehe, yeah, about that..." Devin said, scratching his head.
Miles was confused.
"The WBBA decided to make a World Ranking System for BeyPoints." Devin explained, "Your BeyPoints were carried over, and you win more BP by beating people in battles and winning tournaments. You are, well, were, in first place in the world..."
"What do you mean were?" Miles questioned.
"Since you were in a coma, your rank dropped a lot, almost into the millions, and now all of us are past you." Dan replied, "If you're gonna wanna gain first place again, we're gonna have to get you used to blading again..."
Miles stared at his friends. "So, I have to win enough matches and tournaments to pass almost a million competitors to get back to number one?"
"Yeah, that's about right..." Devin answered.
Miles took in a deep breath and sighed. "Alright then, we better get going..." He started walking.
"Going where?" Acieke asked.
"To the stadiums. Look's like I'm gonna be getting back to the top..."
He checked himself out and walked outside, where his friends were waiting.
"Miles!!" Bryan exclaimed, "You feel better?"

For Miles, getting back to his amazing form was not going to be easy. He hasn't touched his new bey, or any bey for that matter, in about eight months. Now getting used to it again was like being a blader for the first time again.
At the practice stadiums, Devin helped Miles out with the basics, such as launching and aiming. Dan taught him how to use his Pegasis' special power and implement its full power. Acieke helped Miles get Pegasis, be able to withstand hits. Bryan helped out with the speed and agility. Finally, Audrey helped Miles out with endurance.
Within a few weeks, Miles was starting to look like his old self, but the only way to make sure was to fight in a tournament. Miles signed up, and entered the tournament. Third prize was 5,000 BP, second was 10,000 BP, and first was a massive 20,000 BP. A top three finish would really help Miles get out of the millions, but he was determined to get first place.
He easily defeated his first opponent. Same with his next one, and the one after that. Just like that, Miles was in the finals. He felt confident, but he felt a little unusual as his finals opponent entered.
The opponent was wearing a white T-shirt with blood-like stains, blue jeans, and red and white shoes with drops of red on them. However, what confused Miles the most, was that he was wearing a white mask with huge black eyes that slightly intimidated Miles. However, he didn't back down.
"Ladies and Gentlemen!!" the announcer shouted, "It's time for the finals, Miles Serge against Top-ranked T.D. Dragg!!"
The crowd cheered as both Miles and T.D. got ready.
The whole crowd announced in unison. "3! 2! 1! LET IT RIP!!!"
Miles and T.D. launched their beys in the stadium.
Miles, no matter how weak or strong he was, had never been defeated in the first hit. That is, until now...
Pegasis was slung by the monster bey out of the stadium. The crowd went insane at the tremendous power.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, your winner, T.D. Dragg!!" the announcer said.
Miles picked up his bey, shrugging off the loss. He picked up his second place prize of 10,000 BP and headed back to get his toolbox.
He found T.D. back there, and went up to try and give a handshake.
"That was a good round man. Good job." Miles complimented, slightly smiling.
T.D. looked Miles dead in the eyes. "Why should I respect a weak, pathetic blader like you?" He said in a scratchy voice from behind the mask.
Miles put his hand down. He knew this guy wasn't gonna like him. "Well, man. That's not very nice...." Miles replied seriously.
T.D. stood up from where he was sitting. "I don't think I give a damn what you think..."
Miles talked back. "Look man, do you have any idea who I am? I am the guy who won the Princeton Championship. I am the one who won the World Championships. I am not weak and pathetic..."
"Your rank says otherwise..."
"Rank doesn't matter..."
"I'm pretty sure it does..."
"I don't think it matters..."
"Then you are obviously a dumb f--"
Miles got up in T.D.'s face. "Now look and listen carefully, you demented, brainless child. If you wanna continue this trash talking business, go ahead. If you wanna continue laughing in my face, go ahead, but in a few months you're not gonna be laughing when I take the title of Best in the World from your cold, sorry hands..."
T.D. couldn't even think up a response for that. He just stormed off, shoving Miles of the way....
"I can already tell that's the guy I'm gonna have problems with..." Miles thought.
He headed outside to his friends. They were waiting for him.
"I think you're getting back up there, buddy!" Devin complimented.
"Yeah." Miles responded, "but that T.D. guy...he's gonna be my problem...."
"Sure looks like it." Dan chimed in. "That's probably the first time somebody stood up to him..."
Suddenly, a beeping sound.
"What is that?" Miles asked.
"It's my Portable Ranking Tracker!" Acieke said, pulling out an iPhone-like device. "It tracks updates for rankings for anybody you add. I put all of us, the baddies, and that T.D. guy in here, so we can all see our rankings and whenever points are added or lost. The alert is for you!"
The group watched the tracker as the 10,000 points that Miles earned went into the system. He rose out of the terrible number 1,009,345. The 10,000 points rose him all the way up to 544,901.
"WOW!!!" Miles exclaimed. "I gained a lot of ground!!"
"Yeah!" Dan said, surprised as well. "That one win got you past half of the competitors!"
"That's cool..." Miles responded, "But we still gotta get me practicing. I got a long way to go..."

Another week flew by, and Miles was practicing day and night to get better. This was okay for everybody else, but it bothered Bryan.
He had never seen Miles go so hard. He hasn't slept in a week, he stayed awake on energy drinks, and was always practicing the same launch over fifty-thousand times. He was getting concerned about Miles' health.
One late night, he couldn't stand it. "Miles, please. It's midnight. Come inside..."
"I can't!" Miles responded. "I have to practice! I just can't stop!"
"You're hurting yourself..."
"If that's what it takes to win, then I'll do it!"
"But Miles--"
"BUT WHAT?!?!?" Miles snapped at Bryan with a stern look.
Bryan was heartbroken by the response. Never had Miles used that tone against him. He mustered up the strength to speak.
"Miles, I...I hate to see you practicing this much. It's not good for you. I'm afraid you'll hurt yourself. You just don't understand, Miles...I...I..."
Bryan couldn't keep his composure. It was getting harder and harder not to cry. He finally finished. "I'm concerned, Miles, and I hate to see you pushing yourself like this..." Tears began rolling form Bryan's blue eyes. "It breaks my heart to see you act like this, and I just don't want anything bad to happen to you. Just come inside. Take a break for a while. Stop torturing me. Stop torturing yourself. Stop...torturing...us..."
All of the exhausted and crazy feelings fled from Miles' body. He dropped his launcher and Pegasis on the ground, and covered his mouth. Bryan covered his face, trying to hide the flowing tears.
"Bryan..." Miles spoke, beginning to tear up, too. "I...I'm so sorry.... You're right....I shouldn't be hurting us like this. I'll stop for a few days. Take the time to stay in with you and the others. It's not that important..."
Miles gave a kiss on Bryan cheek and he hugged him. Bryan stopped crying. "Thank you, Miles, thank you..."
The two walked in and walked upstairs to bed. Bryan laid down and Miles laid down beside him.
"Goodnight Bryan. I love you." Miles said, smiling.
"I love you too." Bryan responded.
The two cuddled up and drifted to sleep together.

Bryan woke Miles up the next morning with a kiss on the cheek. Miles stretched as he tried opening his eyes.
"Morning, Miles." Bryan said, "Wanna go play in a tournament?"
Miles sat up quickly at those words. "Sure! Let's go!"
The group got ready and headed to the coliseum. It was filled with competitors. Miles and Bryan were both competing in this tournament. "Ladies and Gentlemen!" the announcer said, "It's time for the tournament to begin! Third place will receive 2,500 BeyPoints, second place will get 5,000 BeyPoints, and the winner will get a massive 10,000 BeyPoints! Let's begin!!"
The crowd cheered and the tournament was underway.
Miles defeated his first opponent. So did Bryan. Then in the second round, they both won again. Then in the semifinals, they both won again.
It was the finals; Miles against Bryan. The crowd was on their feet.
Bryan attached his bey, and so did Miles. They stared each other down, grinning at each other.
The crowd counted down. "3! 2! 1! LET IT RIP!!!"
Bryan launched Ara into the stadium, and Miles launched Pegasis. They both immediately made contact and an explosion emerged. Sparks were flying from the stadium and the crowd was loving it.
"Come on, Ara!" Bryan shouted. "Show him what we got!"
"Go, Pegasis!" Miles commanded, "Let's win this thing!"
Sparks continued to fly from the stadium as Pegasis and Ara circled around the stadium, colliding into each other.
"Let's go, Ara!" Bryan commanded, "Special Move, Sacrifice!!"
Ara flew up straight into the air and started homing in on Pegasis.
Miles knew what to do. If he didn't dodge, or dodged too late, he would get KO'd easily. If he dodged too early, the shock wave would end him for sure. He had to dodge at just the right time to win.
Ara was zooming in quickly, and the crowd was leaning forward, anticipating the impact.
Miles was focused on Pegasis. His friends were waiting for the attack. Devin covered his eyes.
"Now!!!" Miles shouted, and Pegasis jolted to the side.
Ara crashed straight into the stadium. The shock wave sent Pegasis to the very edge of the stadium.
"Come on, Pegasis..." Miles thought, "Hang on..."
Pegasis gained balance and zoomed into the center of the stadium. as the dust cleared, Ara appeared, crammed into a crater in the stadium.
The crowd went hysterical, cheering and applauding very loudly.
"Everyone!" the announcer screamed, "Your winner, Miles Serge!!!"
"Yes!!" Miles said, raising his arms in victory. He picked up Pegasis and jumped into the stadium. He pulled Ara from the crater and climbed up to Bryan. He put Ara in his hands.
"Congrats, Miles..." Bryan said, smiling.
"Thanks..." Miles responded, "You did great..." He smiled.
The two, along with their friends, left the coliseum. Once outside, Acieke pulled out the ranking tracker and saw the points go in.
The mysterious T.D. person was in first by a long shot. Devin was second, Dan was third, Cloud, who was still out and about, was fourth, Acieke was fifth, and Bryan watched as he passed Audrey and took the number six rank. Miles rank jumped again, from 544,901 to 288,792.
"Another big jump, Miles!! Good job!" Devin said, congratulating Miles.
"Yeah! At this rate you'll be up near us in no time!!" Dan added.
"You'll be back to your old self in no time!" Bryan added as well.
"Thanks, guys..." Miles answered. "It really helps." He smiled.
"Let's go eat." Devin suggested. "That was an intense tournament, and I'm starving!"
The group agreed, and started walking from Princeton towards Smithfield to go get lunch.
"Morning, Miles." Bryan said, "Wanna go play in a tournament?"
Miles sat up quickly at those words. "Sure! Let's go!"

It was only about thirty minutes before the group walked into Smithfield. They started looking at all the possibilities.
"Over there's a Golden Corral..." Audrey pointed out.
"Eh, not in the mood for a buffet..." Devin answered.
"What about Zaxby's?" Miles asked.
"Nah man, I can't stand that barbecue wing smell..." Acieke responded.
The group was rummaging through their options when a voice rang out at them. "Hey guys!" the voice said from behind all of them.
"Who is that?" Miles asked.
"I don't know..." Bryan answered.
"It's me guys!" The crowd turned to see who it was.
"Cloud!!" Miles exclaimed, running and jumping on him. "I missed you!"
Cloud laughed. "Heh, I miss you too, Miles! Can I get up?"
Miles got off of him and the group reunited with Cloud.
"So man, how was it travelling around the world?" Bryan asked.
"Oh, pretty good, I think!" Cloud happily responded. "There are a lot of tough guys out there! They really put up a good fight, but I won all of them, hah..."
"That's cool! Where'd you go?" Miles asked.
"I headed to a lot of places," Cloud answered, "but my favorites were England, France, and Australia."
"Heh, yeah, England does a good job producing some good beybladers." Dan chimed in.
"Heh. Anyways, how's it going for you, Miles?" Cloud asked. "Getting back to your old self?"
"Yeah, I'm already flying back up," Miles answered, "but this guy named T.D. seems to wanna ruin all of the fun..."
"Yeah, I battled him before..." Cloud responded, "You don't wanna mess around with him. He's very stubborn, and you don't wanna make him take off his mask..."
"Why?" Devin asked.
"He apparently got in a huge car accident where his face got all screwed up." Cloud answered, "He's one ugly dude. It's just my guess, but I think once he got told they couldn't fix it, he got depressed and angry, like he is now..."
"You sure?" Bryan asked.
"Why would I say it's a guess?" Cloud responded sarcastically.
"Eh. Anyways, where are we eating?" Devin moaned.
The group went back to that discussion.
"What about some stuff from Sheetz?" Dan suggested.
Everyone agreed on Sheetz. Dan took everybody's orders, and the group agreed to meet at the recreation center about 10 minutes away.
About a half hour later, Dan arrived with all of the food for the seven of them. They started eating and chatting with each other on the tennis courts. After they finished, Devin had a great idea...
"Hey guys..." Devin started.
"What?" Miles said, finishing up his hot dog.
"What if, all seven of us had a battle?"
"For points?" Dan asked.
"For points..."
Everybody was looking at each other. Acieke stood up. "I'm in!" he said. Then Cloud stood up. "Me too!" he responded. Everyone stood until Miles was the last one sitting. Everybody looked at him.
"Oh, fine..." Miles gave in. The seven friends pulled out their beys.
Devin attached his Diablo Corona BD145 MF.
Cloud attached his Orojya^2 160 CS.

All seven beys hit each other at the same time. They flew back after the collision, and chased after each other.
Cloud began chasing after Audrey. He landed a strong solid hit on her L-Drago. L-Drago wobbled a little. "Come on, L-Drago, stay in this!" Audrey commanded, and L-Drago stood upright.
On another end of the tennis court, Dan and Acieke were fighting. Neither Dan's Shade nor Acieke's Haos were budging. Sparks flew as the two continued to clash.
"Give up, Aci. You're gonna have to try WAY harder to beat me!!" Dan snickered.
"Oh, please!" Acieke responded, nonchalantly, "I'll never back down!"
Devin and Bryan were also fighting strong. Ara and Corona were clashing together a lot. Devin was trying to use the heavy weight of Corona to K.O. Ara, but Ara kept dodging.
"Come on, Bryan! Get over here!" Devin stubbornly commanded.
"Ha, not in a million years!" Bryan answered.
And where was Miles?
Nobody noticed Miles until his Pegasis flew around, splitting up all three fights in one swoop. All six of Miles' friends looked at him. Miles was staring back.
That's when all six of those friends had an idea. Ara, Corona, Shade, Haos, L-Drago, and Orojya all began charging at Pegasis. Pegasis was getting pushed around easily.
"Come on, Miles!" Devin snickered. "Fight back!"
Then, as Miles was about to shrug off the battle, something happened...
Pegasis began gaining a white aurora, and the facebolt, despite being red, shined a bright light blue.
"What the hell?" Dan said, confused.
Miles eyes began to glow blue too.
"Miles, you alright?" Bryan said, concerned.
Miles felt a new power surging through his veins. He felt like Pegasis was gaining new energy.
"Come on, Pegasis! Special Move, Heavy Star Power!!!" Miles commanded.
Suddenly, all six of the other beys, were immobilized, and flung away from Pegasis, skidding as they came to a halt.
All of Miles' friends couldn't say a thing. They were too shocked to move. Pegasis stopped glowing, and so did Miles' eyes. Miles dropped to his knees, breathing heavy.
All of Miles' friends ran to him. Bryan knelt down to him. "Miles, you okay?" he asked.
Miles caught his breath and spoke. "I think, Pegasis and I, just got much more powerful..."
"You know, I never understood..." Devin asked, "Why do you still call your bey Pegasis while it is actually a Dragoon?"
Miles looked up at him and showed the bey to him. Slowly blinking on the ruby red facebolt, a light blue Pegasis symbol was visible. "That's why. Even though it is a Dragoon, it still has the bey energy of the Pegasis I know..."
Miles got up and relaxed a bit. "Well..." Dan said. "I can say that was the most interesting match I've ever seen..."
"Yeah..." Cloud agreed.
Acieke pulled out the Ranking Tracker. Miles saw as all of his friends' points went straight to him, and his rank jumped from 288,792 to 201,114.
"Heh, thanks guys..." Miles jokingly said.
"Pfffft..." Devin sputtered.
"Come on, let's go home..." Bryan said, and then the seven friends began walking home to Princeton.

As the friends arrived home, they did nothing productive until it was time to go to bed. They had school tomorrow, so they wanted to be prepared for it.
Once it turned 11pm, everybody was asleep except Miles and Bryan. They were just laying in bed together, talking a bit.
"Man, I don't wanna go back to school..." Miles groaned.
"Yeah, me neither..." Bryan agreed. "But hey, the best we can do is keep going and try to get it over with..."
"Yeah..." Miles agreed. "So, what are we gonna do about this...?"
"About what?" Bryan asked.
"About, you know, us, and, you know..."
"Oh..."
"Yeah..."
"Well..." Bryan pondered for a second. "I guess we should turn it off for now. Don't know what everybody at school might say, y'know?"
"Yeah, you're right..." Miles answered. "But, can we keep it on for tonight?"
"Sure..." Bryan responded, smiling. He pecked Miles on the cheek and wrapped his arms around him. Miles wrapped his arms around Bryan and pecked him back. "I think I wanna go a little further..." Bryan quietly whispered.
Miles was silent, unsure of what Bryan meant. Then it hit him.
Bryan leaned in and kissed Miles on the lips. Miles' eyes widened. It's been a while since he's been this far. All he could do is close his eyes and take in the kiss. After what felt like forever, Bryan pulled back. Miles smiled and looked into Bryan's eyes. "I love you..." Miles whispered.
"I love you too..." Bryan said, smiling. The two cuddled until they fell asleep.
The next morning, on that Tuesday, everybody woke up, got ready, and left for school.
Bryan was the oldest. He was in the 12th grade.
Devin took college classes before school, and he left earlier than everybody else. He was a Junior.
Dan, Audrey, and Cloud were also Juniors, and Acieke was a Sophomore.
Miles was a junior too, even though he was only fourteen. Despite being academically accelerated, he was picked on for being so young.
Surprisingly, the first day of school for everybody was not bad. All seven of the friends arrived home and they decided to have a little bit of fun.
Since they all had a laptop or computer with them, all seven of them decided to play a game of Team Fortress 2. It was time to take one last break. Away from school, away from Beyblading, away from other friends, away from everything. It was a night to have fun...

The friends set up the game and got prepared to begin the match. The rules were simple; free for all, thirty minutes, most kills wins.
"So what class are you guys gonna be? I'm gonna be the Sniper." Devin remarked.
"I'm gonna be the Soldier..." Dan responded.
"I'll be Demoman..." Audrey answered.
"Engineer..." Acieke chimed in.
"Pyro. It's my favorite!!" Bryan said. "What about you, Miles?"
"I think I'll be Spy." Miles answered.
The game started. All of them were doing very good and racking up the points.
After the thirty minutes was up, the game stopped and the score popped up on the screen like this:
Killseaths
1. Miles, 116:47
2. Devin, 87:56
3. Acieke, 86:61
4. Bryan, 72:65
5. Dan, 66:66
6. Cloud, 52:79
7. Audrey 38:96
"Yay! I won!" Miles said, excited.
"Good game everybody!" Cloud remarked.
"That was fun!" Devin added in. "Well, goodnight everybody!"
Later that night, around 1:30am, every was asleep, but then Miles was awaken by a bright white light that shined through the window, followed by a rumble.
"Hey...Bryan..." Miles shook Bryan until he woke up.
"Nnnnngh, what is it, Miles?" Bryan said, stretching.
"Something just crashed outside. I felt a rumble..."
"What was it?"
"I don't know..."
"Seems a little unusual. You should check it out..."
"But I'm scared..."
"I'll come with you..."
Bryan and Miles snuck outside towards the glowing white light that was stuck in the ground in the front yard of their house. They approached it slowly, hand in hand, in case something happened.
Finally they made it to the glowing object. Miles reached out and picked it up.
"It's not very heavy..." Miles said, "and it feels like a crystal of some sorts..."
When they could finally see it, it was a crystal of some sorts, glowing white with a hint of light blue.
"What does this even do?" Miles asked.
But before he could think, the crystal disintegrated and turned into small white and blue flakes. They began going towards the house.
"It's going towards our bedroom..." Bryan said. "We better go check it out..."
Bryan and Miles hurried inside to their room, just in time to see the flakes being absorbed by Pegasis. Miles and Bryan were astonished.
"What's happening, Miles?" Bryan asked nervously.
"I don't know, but I'm scared..." he responded.
Finally, the flakes were all absorbed, and Pegasis began to slowly blink white. Miles and Bryan approached Pegasis carefully and picked it up. Pegasis was changed.
The metal was almost pure white colored, and the track was also a bright white. However, the face stayed ruby red.
An all new power went through Miles' body. "Bryan?" Miles asked.
"Yeah?" Bryan questioned.
"I think this is something big..."

The next morning, school flew by so quickly. Miles told his friends that he was going to stop by Zaxby's to get something to eat before heading home, and that he would meet them back at the house.
After he finished eating, he began walking home. He walked by the old, run-down buildings as he walked.
However, his peaceful walk was interrupted when somebody grabbed him from one of the old buildings. He was dragged in and thrown into the wall. He looked up to see that familiar mask, and he growled.
"What do YOU want?" he snapped.
T.D. looked at him. "More proof that you can't beat me." T.D. responded, and he attached his monstrous beyblade to his launcher. Miles quickly attached Pegasis, and without a countdown, they launched at each other.
This time, Pegasis withstood the attack against the anonymous Beyblade of T.D.'s. He actually began pushing T.D.'s bey back. Panicked, T.D. withdrew his bey and ran. "Hey! Where are you going?!?!" Miles shouted. He chased T.D. out of the building, but as he turned, T.D. was nowhere to be found. Only T.D.'s mask was there, sitting on the concrete.
Miles was frustrated that he couldn't get a good look at T.D.'s face or his bey, but he defended himself. He even earned 50 BeyPoints since T.D. withdrew from a match.
As Miles arrived back at the house, he told his friends the whole story.
"Man, you're right," Devin said, "T.D. really is after you."
"Yeah...." Miles responded. "This is his mask. He apparently took it off and dropped it as he ran away..."
"Hm..." Dan said, intrigued. "Wonder why he'd purposely do that?"
"I dunno..." Miles answered.
"I don't think we should worry about it right now..." Devin stated. "Anyways, what do you guys think about going to the exhibition stadiums tomorrow? You know, try and earn a few points?"
"Sounds like a great idea!" Acieke responded.
"I'm up for that!" Audrey chimed in.
"Awesome! Sounds like it's gonna be fun!" Cloud also added.
So the seven friends agreed to head over to the exhibition stadiums right after school, but Miles kept feeling a troubling thought in his mind.
"Man, I wish I could have seen his face, or at least his bey. That is really bugging me." Miles thought, "What could his bey actually be? What could he possibly look like? Am I ever going to find that out?"

Right after school, Miles and his friends went to the exhibition stadiums. There were hundreds of people there, and so Miles and his friends hopped in as fast as they could.
Miles was winning matches left and right. It was almost becoming routine. Everybody could tell that Miles was beginning to fully regain his competitive edge.
After winning an astounding 125 battles, Miles decided to quit for the day. After all of the matches were processed, he rose all the way up to rank 8, right behind his friends.
"You did great today, Miles!!!" Devin congratulated.
"Yeah, you're almost there!!" Audrey added.
"Only a few more battles, Miles, and you'll be on the verge of taking number one in the world!" Cloud chimed in.
"Thanks guys!" Miles said, smiling. "I'm gonna head back to the house now..."
Miles'friends waved goodbye as Miles exited the room. He entered the elevator and pressed the button for the first floor, two floors down. The door closed and the elevator began moving down, however, as soon as the elevator passed the second floor, it stopped completely, and the lights went out.
"Huh?" Miles said, confused. He pressed the first floor button. Nothing. Then he pressed the emergency button a few times. Still nothing. Then he tried pulling the door open. It didn't even budge.
Miles was starting to get nervous now as he stood in the large, empty, dark elevator, but he tried to stay calm.
"Hey, can somebody help me? I'm stuck..." Me yelled.
Not a single sound.
"Hey, I'm stuck in the elevator. It won't move. Can somebody help me?" he yelled, a bit more audible this time.
Then, Miles was startled when something crashed on top of the elevator. Big, glowing red eyes stared down at him. Now Miles was scared. After two hits, the figure, broke the ceiling and jumped in. It grabbed Miles and slammed him into the side of a wall. He stared into the big glowing red eyes with panic. Then, the figure's face was visible after a flash. It was indescribable. The scariest thing Miles had ever seen, without a doubt.
Miles broke into a nosebleed from all the stress. The figure dropped him and jumped back out of the elevator.
Meanwhile back upstairs, Acieke's phone vibrated.
"Who could that be?" Dan wondered.
"I don't know..." Acieke responded. He pulled out his phone and checked the message.
"Well?" Devin asked. "Who's it from?"
"It's from Miles..." Acieke answered, and then his eyes widened. "It says, 'something bad happened.'"
"Miles!!" Bryan gasped. "Where is he at?!"
"It says he's stuck in the elevator, just below the second floor." Acieke responded, and the six ran to the elevator. Devin, using his bionic arms, managed to somehow pull the door open, and sure enough, just below that door, was the stopped car with Miles in it. Dan found a rope, and Bryan jumped down, grabbed Miles, and the other five friends pulled them both up.
"Miles, what the hell happened to you?!" Bryan asked, nervous and worried.
Miles tried to find the composure to speak. "It....It was....terrible...s-scared me so much..." Then, Miles's eyes widened as he pointed. Everyone turned, and right there, T.D. was standing, watching with glowing red eyes.
Miles growled. "Why you little..." Miles got up and charged at T.D., then, at the last possible second, T.D. disappeared into thin air, and Miles crashed on the ground, hitting his already bleeding nose. Miles's friends ran to him and circled around him.
"Miles, what in the world is going on?!?!" Bryan asked desperately.
Miles, wiped the blood from his nose and looked back up at him, and responded in the most serious tone.
"It's almost time..."

Devin's parents drove the seven friends back to the house. Miles' bloody nose was healed back to normal.
Later, around 10:30pm, everybody was asleep except Bryan and Miles, who were laying in bed, talking to each other.
"So Miles..." Bryan started, "What did you mean when you said it was almost time?"
Miles sighed, but responded reluctantly. "What I meant to say was that It was going to be soon enough that I would have to face T.D., and I can honestly say, I think...I think he's going to be the strongest opponent I ever face..."
Bryan just stared with a concerning look at Miles. "So, uh...what did you see?"
"Huh?" Miles asked.
"What did you see down there? In the elevator?"
Miles had the scary image of the figure still stuck in his head. He was shivering at the thought of it.
"Well..." Miles started. "I can know for sure, it was T.D., except he wasn't wearing his mask, but....oh my god...you have no idea how scary he looked... His teeth...there had to be a hundred teeth, all as sharp as a shark's. Blood...all over his face, running down his body. And those eyes.....large, nothing but a red glow. There was no way, Bryan. No way he could be a human. Just...no way..."
"But he has to be, Miles..." Bryan responded. "Maybe he did that to himself, on purpose, to scare his opponents. Maybe that's why he wears the mask!!"
"Maybe..." Miles replied. "But..." He started holding onto himself, shivering. "I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep again..."
Bryan quickly held onto Miles. "Miles..." Bryan started. "You have to stop this. There's no way that you can let him, or it, keep hurting you. You need to end this soon, and I'll always be by your side to help you through it all..."
Miles held onto Bryan silently as the two drifted asleep.
On Saturday morning, Devin read about a vacant tournament where all of them could compete against each other. All of the friends agreed, and they entered the Double Elimination tournament. As the tournament started around noon, the seven entered the arena filled with screaming fans and spectators. The announcer made his way out and began speaking.
"Ladies and Gentlemen!!!" he started, "This tournament will be a double elimination tournament between seven top-ranked bladers and good friends. Which of these seven bladers will come out on top? Let's find out!"
The crowd applauded as the announcer announced the first round of matches.
"The first match will be..." The crowd waited in anticipation.
"Dan VS Acieke!"
The crowd cheered as the two walked over to the stadium. They attached their beys and began the countdown.
"3! 2! 1! LET IT RIP!!!"

"Push him over, Shade! You can do it!" Dan commanded.
"Take him down, Haos!" Acieke shouted.
The beys began glowing with more energy, and the sparks intensified. The crowd was loving it. Even the other friends were focused and excited.
"Keep going, Shade!!" Dan yelled.
"Keep it up, Haos!!" Acieke commanded.
The beys glowed even brighter, and the sparks turned from bright orange to blue. This was such an intense shove match between the two beys. The crowd was going ecstatic. Finally, when all of the energy was built up, both Dan and Acieke launched their special moves.
"Arrow of Dusk!!" Dan shouted.
"Impenetrable Defense!!" Acieke yelled out.
Dan's Purple bey was chagin quick at the white bey of Acieke's. The two collided, and an explosion covered the whole stadium. The clouds cleared instantly, and shown was Dan's bey lodged in the ground, and Acieke's bey spinning away from the landing spot. He deflected it perfectly.
The crowd cheered. "Ladies and gentlemen!" the announcer shouted. "Your winner, Acieke Agetteig!"
Acieke slid down, picked up both beys, and climbed back out, handing Dan his bey and shaking his hand.
The announcer called the other two matches, Bryan VS Devin, and Cloud VS Audrey, but Devin and Cloud easily won before anything could take place.
The bracket was now set up. They would do the second round of the winner's bracket next.
The announcer read the first matchup. "Miles VS Acieke!"

Miles's Pegasis and Acieke's Haos entered the stadium and without hesitation, they tackled right into each other. The sparks were so intense that Acieke and Miles had to back up from the stadium. The crowd was going crazy. The beys weren't even visible. They were engulfed in the sparks. So much clashing was going on, even the other friends were losing it. The battle was so exciting.
In both Acieke's and Miles's minds, they were thinking the same thing. No special moves, no tricks, nothing of those sorts. This was going to be a shove fight down to the very end. The beys slid everywhere around the stadium. Sparks were flying up everywhere. Miles and Acieke were running in circles around the stadium trying to follow their bey and keep up with the action.
The sparks began to turn blue and the heat was escaping out of the bowl-shaped stadium. Both beys were weak, but Acieke and Miles looked at each other, and nodded. They both backed up their beys as far as possible to the edge of the stadium, and at the same time charged at each other with as much force as they had left.
The last clash decided it all. They hit each other, and the result was clear. Haos flew out of the stadium and Pegasis remained spinning.
The crowd went hysterical. The announcer was so excited he almost forgot to announce the winner. "Ladies and gentleman, how about that fight?! That was amazing!! Great job by both competitors! Give it up to Miles, everybody!"
Miles picked up his bey, and Acieke picked up his. They fistbumped and headed back to the bench.
"Alright, next match should be just as interesting!" the announcer said, "The next match is Devin VS Cloud!!"
The crowd, already pumped from the last fight, was on their feet. Cloud and Devin stared each other down and got up right in each other's faces. They then hugged and headed to the stadium. Devin attached Corona, and Cloud attached Orojya^2. The crowd counted down.

Corona and Orojya landed in the stadium, and both beys started making a flower pattern in the stadium. Corona's was much faster, but Orojya's was more steady. They soon collided, and the two heavy beys began dueling with great strength.
The crowd was cheering as the shockwave of the clashing metal rang throughout the coliseum.
"Go, Corona!" Devin commanded.
Corona then ran up the side of the stadium, flipped off of the edge and landed perfectly on top of Orojya, crippling it.
"Hold em back, Orojya!" Cloud commanded, and then Orojya did the same move, and weakened Corona.
The two beys then kept flipping off of the edge of the stadium in different fashions, slowly weakening each other. The crowd was mesmerized by the style show. sparks were flying from each bey.
"Go Orojya, Special Move, Unforgiving Bind!" Cloud exclaimed.
Six snakes emerged from Orojya, and they all began charging at Corona.
Miles thought it was over. Devin's Corona was not fast enough to dodge that.
But then, he was proven wrong...
Corona sprinted to avoid the first snake, then dodged a second one, then a third. Eventually, all six snakes were stuck in the stadium, and this is where Devin took advantage.
"Finish Him, Corona, Special Move, Rainbow Dart!"
Corona flew up into the air, a rainbow flowing behind it, and then Corona flew down towards Orojya, and, like a dart, pierced Orojya and knocked it out of the stadium.
The crowd went wild. "Ladies and Gentlemen!" the announcer said, "Your winner, Devin Collins!!"
Devin returned his bey, and Cloud picked up his. They hugged after the battle, and walked back.
"Now..." the announcer said, "We're going to take a quick break, then we will do three loser's bracket matches. Stay tuned for the action, everybody!!"
