Holiday Havoc!

Hi everyone! This is the official thread for our December tournament being held at the Bethesda Marriott in Bethesda, MD on Saturday, December 15.

The Bethesda Marriott Hotel is located just west of the intersection of 495, 270, and 355 (Rockville Pike). Parking in the surrounding neighborhood is available for free on Pooks Hill Road, but space is limited and first come first served! Otherwise there is parking in the Marriott Lot for $15.

Location: The Bethesda Marriott Hotel: 5151 Pooks Hill Road, Bethesda, MD in the Norwood Room? Ask at the front desk as I'm not sure which room we are in now. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/maps/trav...-marriott/

Registration: 11:00am - Noon Seriously, show up on time please!
Start time: Noon-thirty-ish
End time: Usually 3pm for most, 4pm for the finalists
Format: TBD depending on number of bladers
Stadiums: BBG-04 Attack, BBG-11 Defense, and BBG-18 Balance (Alternating rounds)
Surface: Indoors with cardboard
Fees: $5 Room Fee + Standard WBO fees ($5 entry fee or free with a Blader Passport)
MFB Prizes: Zero-G beys and gear (TBD)

18 Bladers stepped up to the plate looking for some Holiday Havoc! We alternated each tournament round between BBG-04 Zero-G Attack Stadiums, BBG-11 Zero-G Defense Stadiums and the BBG-18 Balance Stadiums, and used the Balance Stadium exclusively in the Finals.

Today's Swiss format tournament saw 6 Bladers go to the finals. 4 were MD regulars, 1 was a NC regular, and 1 was brand new to competitive blading! (WTG gullwhiz!!!)

Here are the results!

Zero-G!!!
1st place: geetster99
2nd place: Dark_Mousy
3rd place: Arupaeo
4th place: gullwhiz - who still got a prize because I don't take prizes at my own tournaments Eee

The next tournament is going to be in the 2nd half of January with a specific date that will have to wait depending on what inside venue I can secure and when.

Later this week I will post the thread - but for the New Year I think it's time we took another look at some Old Formats... Wink
