The tip is built into the FX Core.
Metal FX can mode-change/activate attacks during battle. Regular XS cannot do this, but you can customize them more. That is the tradeoff.
As for Inferno's StrikerSoul looking like Sentinel's ... it is just a prototype box. They will all have new StrikerSouls obviously.
