Consider it this way, a collision where both objects are moving contains more energy than one where one is stationary. This means, if both objects are moving, there's more energy in the collision, then the blade with less grip (i.e. the one not on R2F) is going to have to handle higher energy to stay in.
The reason RF defence works is because RF can handle that extra energy due to it's great grip, and the lower recoil of the defence wheel helps prevent it suffering major damage from a collision. However, that's pretty much the only time movement is good for defence.
The only time I'd be wanting to be moving with a defence combo, is if my defence combo was easily KO-able by the opposing attack type, in which case, yes, hoping for a miraculous 0 collision battle might be a better idea (albeit still a terrible one). However, MF-H Hell Kerbecs BD145CS isn't easy to KO, and thus has no reason it has to rely on dodging to survive.
