Back and some good news - Rules Release 3.5, new Bey Marketplace forum, and more!

Welcome back, World Bladers!

The move was successful and absolutely nothing was lost. That being said, we are still uncertain how the MySQL issue will go, but for sure we will be able to work more closely with our host to figure out a solution if it really has not improved much.

Now, for the good news!
To start off, everyone’s got their Passport Face back! We were finally able to retrieve most of the names of those who had purchased a Blader Passport at least in the past year, but we’re still missing some events’ lists of Passport Holders. If you know you bought a Blader Passport at one of our tournaments and that your Passport Face is not there, contact a Committee Member and we’ll look into verifying that you really got one.

We are also here to publish the Rulebooks Release 3.5!
Standard Rules | Universal Rules
Here are the few things that got updated in this version:
  • The Libra Wheel is now legal!
  • If you invoke the Reshoot Clause, you must now get your replacement approved by the judge, and the replacement part must be in the same condition as the original part was. Therefore, if you change RF, it should be as worn as the other one was.
  • The Open Format now does not exist. We found that processing battles done within that format was just not as fair or even comparable competitively as processing matches from the Standard Format, for instance. It’s not like anyone has really been doing tournaments using the past Beyblade series anyway…
  • A note was added about the red, Balance floor of the Standard Type BeyStadium being legal, although that was generally always known.

Then, we cleaned up the Beywiki Project forum of some threads. While we totally appreciate everyone’s contributions and that we need those contributions to actually build Beywiki since it’s fan-made, we do want drafts to meet the standards of quality that currently published articles have. So, if we see that a draft posted clearly wouldn’t ever be published unless tons of work was done to it, or if there’s already a much better draft posted, then we reserve the right to close that newer draft without prior notice.

Last but not least, we’ve completely rearranged the Bey Marketplace forum! The prefixes were slightly awkward sometimes so we had been thinking about it for a while, but the worrying surge of fraud in that forum definitely made us realize that we needed to be stricter for that area. Of course we’re still not liable if any unfortunate event happens while making deals with some of our members, but we might as well do everything we can to provide a safer environment without getting too involved.
To this intent, we divided the Bey Marketplace forum into clear forums: “Selling & Trading”, and “Buying”. Prefixes are therefore not obligatory anymore, although it’s always polite to warn people if you are only accepting payment in the form of Beyblades, so you might want to continue writing [TRADING] in the title of the topic.
Moreover, now everybody who wants to sell or trade Beyblades has to provide a photo of their stock with a piece of paper showing their username next to it. We will simply not tolerate threads made in the Selling & Trading forum that do not show photographs of the Beyblades for sale or trade. The photo doesn’t need to be clear at all: we just need to be able to make out the shape of your Beyblades, and something that looks like your username, even if it’s a little blurry. In 2011, everyone should be able to easily find a camera or a phone that can take pictures.
To help us make this change even more successful, we ask every member who already has a selling or trading topic to update their thread with photos of their stock. That way everyone should follow this example more, and hopefully we won’t have to close too many new topics, and no more fraud will be done.

Wait, what’s this?!

Stay tuned for more details!!

We truly hope you like these updates; perhaps you were expecting more, but unfortunately it’s mid-term for most of us, so you can understand how busy we all are! This site isn’t dead anyway, so look ahead for its bright future!

So glad to have that error gone! I hope there aren't any more problems.

Libra legal? Now I must get one...

I'm glad nothing got lost in the change. Thanks Kai-V!
Well... The good news isn't anything that I was expecting, but it was certainly good news! Thanks for the update Kai-V! Hopefully the site won't crash anymore... Joyful_3
We are closely monitoring all the "Moved" threads in the Bey Marketplace forum. Hopefully in less than twenty-four hours they will be gone.

Well that's good. Hopefully we won't have any more scamming problems... Such as what happened with Beyblademon!

I just noticed something... With this new host, we are saving money (It's cheaper) and living better. (No more crashing of the site.) Does this mean that we are now Wal*Mart? Now that's just weird... XD
Yes! No problems. LIBRA WHEEL!! UNBANNED!
Great changes! Much more than expected. Grin
I hope the new marketplace system truly eliminates all fraud.
Aw yeah! Bey Crusade, here I come!
Libra is legal again, huh? Top-tier list needs some serious mods then.
This is great news, and let us all hope that this site and the WBO will continue to get even better as time passes.

Cool
Good point! I'll edit that right now. I'm working on adding a new section to the Libra article on Beywiki, as well.
Finally! I've been counting the minutes! And good thing the Libra Wheel is legal again, but the Beywiki pages are going to have to be redone!
It's good to be back and to have Passports back, haha.

Kai-V and Kei have been doing an absolute ton of hard work behind the scenes regarding recovering the Passport Face and fixing the host debacle; you guys should really take this opportunity to thank them! Wink
I don't know why, nothing has changed much but I feel like the WBO has started fresh somehow haha.

Pumped for Crusade!
Hey Kai, why didn't you list AkirasDaddy as an authorized seller?

Also kudos on the news too.
Yeah! The WBO is back on track. And what? Libra is legal? Yes!

Please. It needed changes LONG ago. Say ... Since 230 was released.

Anyways, great job Kai-V, Kei, and whoever else helped with the development of the "new" WBO. I sincerely thank you all! Grin
Hopefully we get some new advanced inductees, no? Smug :V lol.
Oh man, it's good to be back here with you all! Great job with the move, staff members, and the revamping of the Marketplace is going to be very, very beneficial, as well as the revamping of the Beywiki Project Forum.

... Interesting to see Libra's back in the game; I'm going to have to get a BB-96 for that. =)
