Participant Cap
While everyone will be welcome to spectate and participate in free play, there will be a participant cap of 24 Players on this tournament due to limited space, time, and staff.
How to Register
To confirm your spot in the event:
- First, purchase a ticket to Anime North 2024 here.
- Then, sign up on OBBC's Challonge Tournament Page above to secure a spot.
- Do not join on Challonge if you have not purchased a ticket yet.
- Be Early Rather Than Late: If NORTH ’23 was any indication, lines can go on for quite a while. Do your best to prepare ahead of time to get into the convention with time to spare. Either through mail-in passes (via Anime North’s website) or simply arriving well in advance.
- Day-Of Check-In Required: All players will be required to check-in with our tournament staff at the entrance of our booth in Hall I of the Toronto Congress Centre before the tournament start time. This is to confirm attendance and Challonge entrant status.
- Late Arrivals: If you arrive after 5:45PM, you will not be able to enter the tournament (but are welcome to participate in free play).
- Have Your Challonge Account Open On Your Phone: During check-in, be sure to have your Challonge open on your phone so we can verify your username quickly.
- Posting/PMing Will Not Secure Spot: Posting in this thread or private messaging the host will not confirm a spot in the tournament. You must follow the instructions above.
- Day-Of Registration: Registration on the day of the event for people who don’t confirm a spot beforehand will be possible if spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Signed up and can't make it? Let us know: If you end up not being able to make it to the event, please post here to notify the host so we can open up a spot for someone else. Players who sign up on this page and do not show up at the tournament without any notice may be warned in accordance with our Community Rules. Thanks for your understanding!
LEGAL BEYBLADES (BEYBLADE X FORMAT)
This is a BEYBLADE X Format event. Please refer to the rulebook link below to review the game play rules for the event:
MATCH TYPES: TAG-TEAM BATTLE
First & Final Stage – Tag-Team Battle
It is recommended you form teams of 2 in advance. If needed we can attempt to group partnerless Bladers the day-of. There are 24 maximum participants, meaning ideally 12 teams total participating.
This match type involves two teams of two Bladers, each of which is equipped with 2 unique X Beyblades. Both teams organize a unique 4-Bey deck (no repeating parts!) as well as ordering their position (first up, second up) and intended beys. Confirmed with the Judge once set.
They then battle in that sequence in an attempt to reach 7 points first. Blader #1 vs Blader #1 using Deck Beys #1 and #2, then Blader #2 vs. Blader #2 using Deck Beys #3 and #4.
Here is a detailed breakdown of how the Tag-Team Battle works:

LOCATION: TORONTO CONGRESS CENTRE NORTH - HALL I
All BEYBLADE NORTH 2024 events will be hosted in our space at the back of Hall I in the Toronto Congress Centre North.
We should be in the southeast corner of Hall I. The Floor Plan will be as similar to recent years as we can make it in this new space.
The exact layout is subject to change and may appear different than previous years depending on time, staff, or convention restraints at the time, but we will try to keep things as close to familiar as is permitted.
PRIZES
As is tradition, the top three players in each event will earn prizes for their exceptional play in the tournament:
On top of this we will also have the following product prizes!
MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR BEYS!
In some of our previous events we have lent out Beyblades and Launchers for people to use, and thanks to the generosity of Kei we will have loaners again this year!
You are highly recommended to bring your own Beyblades to be able to participate in these events – make sure to read the rules carefully to know how many you’ll need and what is legal for a given tournament format.
HAVE A BEYSTADIUM? BRING IT!
We will be bringing stadiums and some deck boxes for this event, but more are always welcome!
Any BeyStadium is fine for free play, but Beyblade X's "Xtreme Stadium" (BX-07/10/17/00, similar to the one pictured below) are particularly appreciated. If you can bring one, please post here to let us know.
The more Xtreme Stadiums we have present the more matches we can play simultaneously. If you are able to bring additional Stadiums or Deck Boxes, please let me know in advance.
TOURNAMENT BRACKET ON CHALLONGE
As always, during the tournament while we cannot give you a set time for when your next match will take place, you are welcome to follow along with the tournament bracket on Challonge. Challonge is the management tool we use to run the event.

Hello everyone,
It has come to my attention that a release (UX-05 Random Booster ShinobiShadow Select) comes out just a week before Anime North, on May 18th.
Because this is release is so close to our events I do not want to have players feel pressured to try and purchase in time for BEYBLADE NORTH 2024, or have a fear missing of out on a competitively relevant set of parts to use for BEYBLADE NORTH 2024.
In my opinion, no player should feel that they must get parts as soon as they come out to gain a competitive edge, stay relevant or just not lose at our events. This can lead to a fairly toxic competitive culture that we have seen many times in the past. Because of this UX-05 Random Booster ShinobiShadow Select's parts are not allowed to be used for the duration of BEYBLADE NORTH 2024.
To be perfectly clear: you will not be able to use UX-05 Beyblade parts on our Friday or Saturday Beyblade X events even if you did manage to have them shipped over in time. I hope this relieves some potential pressure to be on the absolute bleeding edge of releases and give you time to capitalize on parts you and other participants are more familiar with at BEYBLADE NORTH 2024.
This is a general practice we are looking to implement more frequently to reduce undue financial stress on participants or fear of missing out. Any release with a street date within 13 days of an OBBC event will be "banned" for that particular event (or set of events). If a particular release has been out for longer than 13 days, the part will be "fair play" for all to use. These are not a reflection of WBO Organized Play rules, but a community-specific and player-minded approach by OBBC/current Toronto Organizers.
