Let me just tell you that you came to the right place, hah.
(Nov. 22, 2013 2:47 PM)Zenkoma Wrote: 1. three part question: i heard that the rapiditys are cheap and break easy. what are their failure rates compared to legit beys? which parts are most prone to breaking? are there any rapidity parts worth using?
Since they are illegal in every sense of the word (copies of copyrighted materials, but also never allowed to battle against real Beyblades in tournaments so it is not worth buying them), we do not have actual numbers to compare them, but all testimonies usually place them in the loser clan unless they won because they were illegally able to spin in both directions, unlike most real Metal Wheels which can only spin to the right.
All of their parts are actually more vulnerable. The plastic used is cheap, and the molds of the Metal Wheels are also clearly not manufactured with a high standard of quality. I do not even think they use the same good zinc alloy that makes Metal Wheels rather durable. Also, basically all of the fake equipment (launchers, Launcher Grips, etc.) breaks absurdly always.
Not at all, unless you want to see what a Metal Wheel might act like in a spin direction it is not used to being seen in, but you should generally avoid wasting your money on tops that are just hurting TAKARA-TOMY's business, hurting Beyblade as a whole, and which you could never use in any official battles or about which you could never post test results in the Beyblade Customizations forum here.
(Nov. 22, 2013 2:47 PM)Zenkoma Wrote: 2. two part question: ive seen all types of metal parts on ebay. are there any advantages of having a metal part besides the wheel? what happens if you build a bey entirely out of metal parts?
Most of the metal parts you see are fake. Full-metal Bottoms do not actually exist, so it is not normal if you see one. It would add more weight and might increase stamina slightly, but you cannot legally use them.
If a Beyblade were made entirely out of metal though, it would probably require a more powerful launcher in order to spin for as long. Its spin velocity would probably be slightly high at the beginning, but it would quickly diminish until you stop spinning entirely.
(Nov. 22, 2013 2:47 PM)Zenkoma Wrote: 3. if i want to buy older legit brand beys such as killer befall/beafowl whatever or poison serpent (beys ive seen labeled as rare and prices upwards of 30-50 dollars) where can i buy them online at a normal price?
Those are definitely not worth that price. Poison Serpent is one of the worst Beyblades ever made, similar to Wyborg, so it should not be purchased for more than fifteen dollars including shipping.
eBay has good prices sometimes. If there are no good deals right now, I am sure you can just wait a few weeks perhaps and one will appear. Generally, try avoiding Hasbro auctions because for some reason sellers of Hasbro Beyblades always think they are worth more than Asian ones while that is not true at all since Hasbro products are more available worldwide.
(Nov. 22, 2013 2:47 PM)Zenkoma Wrote: 4. i know the older beys dont have synchrome wheels because they have a different wheel & ring system than shogun steels. what is the part compatibility between the older beys and shogun steels?
Basically you can only switch Tracks and Bottoms with them. You can learn more about Metal Fight Beyblade Zero-G here on Beywiki :

(Nov. 22, 2013 2:47 PM)Zenkoma Wrote: 5. is there any way to mod the launcher that comes with the beys for reverse spin?
You would have to change the inside mechanism entirely, probably take one from a Beylauncher LR and replace it in the launcher you wish to modify. In any case, that is not legal at all.
(Nov. 22, 2013 2:47 PM)Zenkoma Wrote: 6. are there any websites/pages that show a complete list of parts with pics, names, serial numbers, and types? looking for this sort of thing on google was what led me to finding this forum
Sure, we have several pages on Beywiki, notably the MFB Product List and the Beyblade Parts List :
http://wiki.worldbeyblade.org/index.php/...oduct_List
http://wiki.worldbeyblade.org/index.php/...Parts_List
We have not published accurate articles for all Beyblades though, but you can always use the Search function on the forums and search "BB-78" or whatever product you are looking for in the titles of the threads inside the Beyblade General forum. If you need any help using the Search function, do not hesitate to contact me.
(Nov. 22, 2013 2:47 PM)Zenkoma Wrote: 7. if i wish to time the length of my beys spin duration what is a decent time to shoot for? what is an excellent time?
We have a "Best solo spin time" topic, but generally anything above four minutes is what should be aimed. Seven minutes is among the best scores using all legal parts and equipment.
(Nov. 22, 2013 2:47 PM)Zenkoma Wrote: 8. two part: whats a good online place with good prices to buy legit brand parts seperately if it exists at all? is it more cost effective to buy multiple complete beys or build the one you want to build out of secifically chosen & seperately purchased parts?
There is no real store that can do this without selling each part for more than five dollars to make a profit. Some of our Members here might be already selling separate parts in the Selling & Trading sub-forum though, so that is your best option.
(Nov. 22, 2013 2:47 PM)Zenkoma Wrote: 9. im a skinny guy. when i launch i have my launcher hand maybe slightly over a foot away from my chest and i only rip the cord with my forearm moving to my chest and my launcher does not move. i do not feel that im even pulling it as hard as i possibly could. my step kids real father is probly 3 times as strong as i am and he launches as hard as he possibly can throwing his ripcord hand all the way behind him. SO WHY cant he spin a bey faster/harder than me?
The launcher itself has a limit, hah. I am not too certain about your description of how you launch, but certainly your step kids' real father just cannot push the launcher's power beyond its limit.
(Nov. 22, 2013 2:47 PM)Zenkoma Wrote: 10. i hate the cross shaped and hexagon facebolts. where can i get ones like the one in my avatar?
Those come from the first few Beyblades in the Metal Fight Beyblade series. Anything before Zero-G Beyblades should have those Faces.
The Faces you are talking about which you hate are called Stone Faces by the way.
(Nov. 22, 2013 2:47 PM)Zenkoma Wrote: 11. my metal wheels are soooo beat up after a short amount of play. two part: why did the takara company choose to use such a soft metal instead of a harder one? are there any harder/better quality metal wheels available for purchase?
Eh, it is not normal if they are actually "beat up". The shine quickly disappears if you use them, but in no way should the shape change so quickly, if ever. It is way more likely for a chip to be caused in the metal than for the metal to start "bending" as you are describing. Are you certain you have real Metal Wheels ?
thank you for all of the excellent answers. i will surely refer back to your post
also when i meant beat up i meant the metal wheels are all nicked and dented all over and their edges rounded. some of the knicks are in a manner that leaves a sharp ridge. even the plastic energy wheels & spin tracks get beat up. i guess it must be normal though the kids salamander & golem arent even half as nicked up as mine and theyve played with those for longer

Er... Chrome Wheels can actually change shape relatively quickly. You should see my old Wyvang, LOL. XD
Revizer can also change shape with ware (which'll usually happen, since its primary use is Defense, IE constant testing against Attack types), to the point where the diameter is noticeably different than a new one. If you Synchrom the two, the newer one will extend far beyond the edge of the old Revizer. Same thing with Dragooon/Killerken.
But, uh, that's with my stuff, which sees maybe an hour or two minimum every day, so, hehe... XD most probably won't be like that.
That's also with Synchrom for the most part... If you're blading with old, light stuff like Evil Befall and/or Poison Serpent, then I couldn't picture the shape changing unless you were using it multiple hours a day, against insane, super-aggresssive stuff. :\
EDIT: Oh yah... Saramanda (Salamander by Hasbro) will ware out pretty fast if you use it a lot. Goriem will not ware quite as fast, but it'll get there sooner than most things.

yea ive been blading for the past week against 1 to 3 other beys at once over and over for an hour or more
maybe im using mine more often than most people would
im just wondering at what point theyll get worn enough that they wont even function properly in a battle. i guess its a good thing that theyre not very expensive to replace

It really depends on what parts you are using. For example, rubber tips wear out faster than plastic.
I've wanted to make a balance type bey for a while with a very heavy metal wheel that has high recoil, but with a defence performance tip like RS to hold it in place. Theoretically, this combo would sit in the middle such as a defence type would, but instead of taking hits from another bey it just knocks out whatever comes into contact with it. Does anybody know what metal wheels would be good for this?

Well, that theory isn't very effective. I think u mean high smash, that would make more sense?

The combo he wants to create has lowered recoil due to the bottom (and probably the spin track as well) but still has a high recoil metal wheel.(Nov. 23, 2013 12:34 AM)Stewart11 Wrote: I've wanted to make a balance type bey for a while with a very heavy metal wheel that has high recoil, but with a defence performance tip like RS to hold it in place. Those would obviously not be used, they don't have high recoil they are just obliterated by heavy combos of today's meta. You wouldn't use something so light competitively, period.
I have a question. I know it's outclassed, but I want to know does "Evil" have any use?
Did flame have more recoil then burn?

Actually, you are wrong Switchy. Smash and Recoil are not relative. That would mean Goreim, Orojya, and Saramanda are great for smash, which they aren't. Just because Wyvang and Balro have some recoil, it doesn't mean that recoil= Attack. For example, Flash had a lot of smash(and it still does) but has not that much recoil.
What should i use my F230 for i dont have dragoon chrome wheel, cant us duo or death bc it's being used for other combos
You can try Genbull^2. If you don't have that then nothing competitive really. Try listing your parts in the Build Me A Combo thread. But really most combos with F230CF can beat something.
i figured since this is the questions thread id post THIS here in hopes of getting some advice asap

Actually, it would still belong in Purchase Consultation.
You should edit your posting listing what your store has, so people know what to list you.
ok well heres an actual question in relation to my purchase consultation question:
i was able to sneak his new beys and do self testing. it looks like he has dragoons swingy parts spin track on the griffin and vice versa on the other. my kraken beat his left spinning dragoon but had difficulty with the griffin
his griffin combo may prove troublesome
i even made sure to do every test by spinning my kraken first just to give his the advantage
i was sure the dragoon would be the one of his two mine would have trouble with. when he has his syncromed and i know hell put them together with dragoon on top to use left spin. i think this is where im going to run into the most trouble
then to make matters worse, while typing that just now i forgot what my actual question was ...................
......guess ill ask these then.
why does kraken beat a left spinning dragoon?
what is it about his griffin wheel and dragoon spin track that gives kraken with orochi performance tip so much trouble? seems like theres a lot of that smash/recoil effect that ive read about going on between them
how can i beat any possible combo between dragoon & griffin that he may come up with on his own?

Do you use Synchrom at all ?
(Nov. 24, 2013 4:28 AM)Kai-V Wrote: Do you use Synchrom at all ?
yes i do, but to be fair in a battle, if hes not using synchrome for that round i will not either
i guess i need a single metal wheel combo that will beat any single wheel combo of his two and then a synchrome combo his synchrome cant beat
It's not a matter of fair or unfair, as if it was that unfair, it would be banned. 4D's can beat synchromes.

Problem being, Crystal wheels have been dubbed "useless" since they're horrible compared to 4D/Synchrom, and even some Pre 4D tops.
Synchroms should really be used at all times- if its legal, its fair, haha.
EDIT: Beaten by Ultramarine
well the way i see it is that its better to play fair than to be told oh well the only reason you won is cuz both your wheels are metal and i only used one. its like when arnold fights the predator and the predator takes off his laser shroud thing :b
i prefer to win respectfully
i also already had some experience with standards beating synchromes. salamander golem synchrome launched harder was beaten by my kraken by itself. i know you guys say kraken isnt a good bey, but i really like my first bey a lot
