You know, I just get pissed when I see stuff like that, even more when it's used on a toy, as a general prejudice towards russian charakters in the anime.

To be fair..that symbol is pretty much a common sign that people know is Russian. and they didn't help their image any when they waged war on Georgia because they wanted their land and killed over 2000 people before they stopped.

Damn, that's right what I mean. Neither the old communist regime nor the one from nowadays is the same as all the russian people. Just like all Americans aren't clones of George W. Bush.
And the cruelties of the russian regimes aren't a thing the RUSSIANS did, it's a thing the government and the military did. Of course there were people who supported it, but the rest is just not to blame for it. And if you put these innocent people into one league with the governments, just because they're in the same country then that's a thing I call racism.

Maybe they were from East Germany? I don't have anything against Russia, just against those communist carp rulers that were there doing almost the same thing as the nazis did.
Initially, I was getting upset because the russian beyblades get a communist symbol on their blades, just as if all the russians belong/ed to them.

See, I dislike every government on earth, but that doesn't mean I dislike the countries themselves or even the people that live there.

Japan is a bit odd when it comes to the outside world. They do some pretty racisist things, but hopefully they don't mean it. They're definately un-aware of other culture's sensabilites, which is fair, because other cultures usually the same, except when another culture depict's there's in a negative light.

Although I did laugh my carp off durring that episode of Medabots with the Canadian fellow with his skiing stereotypical Canadian accent. But I guess that could be Nelvana-ness. Which is fine since Nelvana is Canadian.

How can you say communism isn't bad? It takes all freedoms away from a person...the government forces jobs on you and people who don't like their jobs don't want to work...people don't work then theres no income so that the other people who do their job and make money part of their money goes to the lazy bum who doesn't want to work. Which makes that person think that if the money their working for is given to another person then why should they work etc. The chain just goes down from there.

Plus dictators can't really carp something up that wouldn't work without some sort of leadership. People aren't just gonna conform and in communism that just brings death.

I feel bad about hijacking this thread even further, but I want to correct you on something: Communism itself isn't about state-owned resources and central-planned labor; that's Socialism. Communism was about a classless society where everybody is equal and shares ownership of everything, and where there is no need for a state to manage anything. However, Marx and other communists believed that socialism was a stepping stone on the path from capitalism to communism. The problem is that all attempts at a communist society (at least the ones I know of) got stuck on the socialist stage (which is why most people equate communism and socialism).

What about Cuba? Not sure if it has TRUE Communism, but from what I know of it, The system not only worked there it flourished making it an extremely safe vacation spot (for anyone other than an American).
