Anime New Law??

No it's not. That's actually pretty smart. It's just so that kids can't go to the store and purchase Porn. Without it, even an 8 year old can purchase inappropriate Anime/Manga. So it's actually a good idea.
It's not exactly a smart law in some cases actually.

So your saying 8 year old's should be allowed to purchase porn? Or something like Higurashi? No. It is a smart idea.
This would be false or it should be anyway because not even Naruto nor Bleach would pass the test, since they have violence and blood. In fact, no anime in existence would pass and in the end all anime would be just as bad as the cartoons they show in the UK at this time which is not a great thought. Besides, Anime was always pointed at Adults anyway and it's not like it will stop anything if they do stop it all.

Edit: Just reading over but I would have thought they would have had a law like that anyway. Uncertain

Yup. Because Astro Boy and Speed Racer definitely some 18+ shows. [/Sarcasm]

Anime was never only pointed towards adults. Anime means any kind of animation from Japan. If the creator of Spongebob made it while he was in Japan, it would be an Anime. Anime just means a cartoon from Japan. Anime started off being for kids/suitable for all audiences. Just like cartoons in America. Then they started making adult-aimed anime. Just like how they have adult cartoons in america. Think for once...
So, if I went to Japan, me being 15 years old, and buy Higurashi, HOTD, Black Lagoon, or Air Gear (definitely Air Gear), they wouldn't give it to me because I'm a minor... that is some bull. But if they were being specific... yeah, alot of animes/mangas would be cancelled straight up.

I mostly mean most of them, it doesn't take a genius to know that they were suitable for any age when they first started but when you now look at them theres always something not suitable for a younger age and when they try to change that it doesn't work (Naruto for example.). Also, I already know that 'Anime' is the word for Japanese cartoons, I haven't been watching them to not know this fact and I don't remember saying they weren't. My point was just that they are pretty much adult stuff, especially in the times we live now.
I'll say one thing, I didn't know Anime dated back as far as 1917.
Most anime isn't aimed solely at adults. If it was the industry would already be dead.
Anime is considered a form of animation. It's not anime just because it came from Japan. Anime has it's own style of animation. In the old days, anime was also made in China.

You just contradicted yourself....

Except those were pretty much terrible rip-offs of Japanese shows (Space Thunder Kids, anyone?)

But yeah, the point stands.

I'm not really sure why this topic is still around. Animes aren't going anywhere, really XD
If you want to be silly most anime from Japan is actually made in Korea nowadays.
