Why become a WBO Judge?

Without judges, Beyblade tournaments can't happen. When you become a WBO Certified Judge, you prove your ability to ensure every battle is fair, and your commitment to growing your local Beyblade community.

Judge WBO Ranked Events

WBO Ranked Events require a WBO Certified Judge to be present. By becoming a WBO Judge, you give your community — and yourself — access to WBO Ranked Events and the WBO leaderboard.

Grow your local community

We've seen it over and over — the more judges a Beyblade community has, the faster it grows. WBO Judges elevate the tournament experience for all and make it easier for new bladers to join in.

Level up your Beyblade skills

The better you know the rules, the better you know the game. As a WBO Judge, you'll see things other bladers miss and lift up your entire community with you as you all become better bladers together.

About the WBO Judge Test

The WBO Judge Test tests your knowledge of the WBO's Beyblade X rules and your ability to judge battle results.

The test consists of 25 multiple choice questions:

  • 15 text questions, where you'll answer questions sourced from the Beyblade X Rules and Judge Guide;
  • and 10 video questions, where you'll watch footage of a battle and choose the result.

You must answer at least 20 of 25 questions correctly to pass. When you pass, you will be considered a WBO Certified Judge!

Important:
  • Once you start the test, you must complete it within two hours.
  • You are allowed to reference the WBO Beyblade X Rulebook, Judge Guide and other resources while taking the test.
  • You can only take the test twice each month. It's OK if you don't pass the first time!

Frequently asked questions

Q: Can I play in events I judge in?
A: Yes, as long as you continue to judge every match impartially, and you never judge your own matches.

Q: Can I be both a WBO Organizer and a WBO Judge?
A: Yes — in fact, we highly encourage it! Being both a WBO Organizer and Judge allows you to host WBO Ranked without any other WBO Certified Judges. Learn more about becoming a WBO Organizer.

Q: Do all judges at a WBO Ranked Event need WBO Judge Certification?
A: No, only the Head Judge requires WBO Judge Certification. The Head Judge and Organizer can designate anyone as a temporary judge for the event as long as they are overseen by the Head Judge.

Q: Is the World Beyblade Organization connected to Hasbro or Takara Tomy?
A: No. The World Beyblade Organization is a volunteer project managed by Fighting Spirits Inc, a registered non-profit organization. No WBO staff are paid. We're just huge fans of Beyblade!
