This seems an awful lot of work just to give a new member some slack. The current system works fine:

New member post something in the wrong section.
Mod warns them, generally with an explanation as to why.
Mod may move topic to correct area/send them to the correct topic.

'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'
As it's been stated before, the mods cut them a LOT of slack. They don't warn them off the bat, and they explain why they shouldn't post there. It's the people who think that they're the most knowledgeable people around, and that we NEED their almost ALWAYS wrong wisdom to survive as a community who are the issue here. Like people hawking the same sorry combos. They could be given a warning level for not reading the rules right away, but they don't get one.

Okay, I'm going to take full responsibility for this now. First of, you are allowed to make jokes - th!nk made the joke, not you, however.

PART OF QUOTE REMOVED
So Think can make a joke, and I can't? I can't laugh at his joke. I can't tell him he accomplished? I can't post a simple LOL? djspida is right, this is the internet, not a business conference. Jokes are meant to be laughed at, and saying I can't laugh isn't fair. That is what I mean by strict, where a forum about SPINNING TOPS has to have no humor, where you can make a joke, but you can't laugh. You have to get penalized for laughing. WHY!!!!!?????
Because you can do it on PM. Think for a second, it's a joke, but the POST HAD SUBSTANCE BESIDES LAUGHING. Your did not. It's THAT SIMPLE.
Also, if I was to be warned for that joke I'd have to protest, because it was actually unintentional.

The point was you were warned for a single word response (albeit an image), which is against the rules. (And no, the rest of the post doesn't count because it lacks substance)
Stop acting this way, or you'll get warned.
th!nk is a more respected member of this community than you are at the time, he has more knowledge than you, and he probably always will. He is allowed to make a joke like that because of the fact that everyone knows he knows his stuff. Not a written rule but merely a psychological one. When you think that you can post a joke, think about it twice, and add something that is also on topic. That's what me, along with th!nk and many other members, usually do.

This is also a professional organization had you not noticed, and it is best to keep it running as professional as possible.

Your post also lacked test ( what you wrote does not count) and being entirely offtopic lead to that warning.
Alright, I admit my mistake. I was just stating my opinion of this forum, I had no intention of starting this. Please, just stop. I do not know what you mean by "acting this way" because I was merely stating my opinion, oh wait, am I not allowed to state my opinion?

Again, please stop this stupid war, and again, I WAS MERELY STATING MY OPINION ON HOW THIS FORUM IS RUN. I love this forum, and I don't think I would like Beyblade if it wasn't for this place. I learned a lot, and I surely don't mind how the forum is right now. I was making a suggestion, but it turned into this. I don't know what else to say other than I am sorry if my behavior was unacceptable. I accepted my warning as a fair, necessary one, but I still don't understand the logic. But Raigeko, I don't think sensible people would warn me for stating my opinion. Because, from what I understand, the Committee members are pretty sensible.

That attitude is what I was referring to as to getting you warned.
Anyways, yes, let's end this.
Ah, I see. Yeah, this is getting pretty pointless. Thanks for understanding.
(Jul. 27, 2011  9:22 AM)Grovyle32 Wrote: [ -> ]Also about the expiry warning, I reckon that mods should revoke warnings (because mods can revoke a warning) if a person truly shows them they have become sensible after mucking up.

This does happen. I'm a prime example. I used to be horrible and rude and had a 90% warning level. Then after making an effort and being helpful around the forum it was reduced to 20%.
I figured that I should really clarify the situation with Bluezee and Spin-Sonic before people really blame me for them leaving and think I was really making fun of Spin-Sonic's dyslexia and that I was abusing my power or something ...

There were a lot of strong points that led me to have the firm conviction that Bluezee was using Spin-Sonic's account to make his own posts while he was suspended. I confronted Spin-Sonic about that in a private message, and out of nowhere I get accused unfairly of making fun of his dyslexia.

It was really that "out of nowhere". I had no idea Spin-Sonic had dyslexia, and I never even hinted, implied, or mentioned it in my private message that was basically just telling Bluezee to stop using Spin-Sonic's account. There were never really any considerable amount of spelling errors in Spin-Sonic's posts, just as there were barely any in Bluezee's posts. How was I supposed to notice that he had dyslexia when nothing at all could have given me this idea ?

I am quite disappointed by how "Spin-Sonic" tried to make me out as an incredible jerk to the few people who are close to Bluezee and who are coincidentally also good members here. It really does not help this negative reputation that has been mentioned sometimes in this thread. I am more human than that. This community really does not need lies like that, we absolutely do not want to create an abyss between two clans, because neither will survive, the Beyblade community will suffer a lot from it. Especially if it is created by lies, then it would be unforgivable.

Perhaps this message does not entirely belong in this topic, but I thought that neither Bluezee nor Spin-Sonic would necessarily appreciate if a whole new thread was created just for this issue, and it also touches on a possible belief that I am treating this site and its members as I want and that I am essentially making my own law, which is not the case.

I got a 50% warning for canceling because of rain when I lived in a flood zone and I've hosted/helped out with so many, but I never got my warning revoked. Unhappy

However, I don't view this as strict. I view this as "just don't get another warning". As much as I hate staring at 60%, it'll never mean anything unless I do something stupid.

Dude, I have dyslexia something awful that actually prevents me from performing as well as I could in school and has got me in trouble numerous times at work. Instead of using a disability as an excuse, work to improve on it. Just because you have a disability doesn't mean you can't do something about it.

For example, having the part of my brain removed has caused me to become an emotional moron. I don't know anger from happiness. What do I do? I learn from others to adapt. Why can't he? No doubt there will always be a struggle, but if you work hard, anything is possible.
This place is strict but it is strict in a constructive way. It encourages people to be independent and i have learned heaps from here Smile
basically, the WBO is in a way a business. The employers have to be strict with the employees or else the employees could get out of control. I know it sounds weird but it's logical if you think about it.
To start of with, WBO has helped me in different ways. It has helped me to understand Beyblade than what I thought it was.

WBO has also helped me develop as a person. Back from when I was a new member, I was very similar to a SPAMbot. I used to argue with the committee and post ridiculous things. I'm very sure other members can relate to this. I am also definite that all the very well respected members on this forum have the same history as me and have understood and grown from it.

The members I have to thank the most is Kai-V and Brad. They haven't only developed me as a blader, but also as a person. Everyone on this forum should be VERY grateful that we had Brad and we've still got Kai-V. The more strict, the more this forum develops.

I'd also like to point out that many of you should have realised that this organization has developed from 'beybladeforums' to 'World Beyblade Organization'. Without the committee we've got now, this organization would go as far as it would be today.

Thank you Brad, Kai-V and the committee !
i dont think there to strict they r just helpful i guess

lets put it like this

u know wen ur trying to teach a dog not to poop in the house
when it does u stick its nose in it and say NO (at least thats wat i would do(i luv animals))

the mods r kinda the sameway but instead of sting ur nose in the post they give u a warning basicly saying NO and then u learn(hopefully)

ik that was a weird way of putting it but hey it kinda makes sense if u dont think about it lol (i meant when u do think about it)
I Don't think the WBO is strict it just they want to make this forum a better place for the users . that what mods are for on this to help users on this site . so u really cant blame once in a while if there mean there just try to make this forum a better place
Does this thread actually serve a purpose? I mean, as much as it could look like we're not allowing dissent or whatever, what difference is this thread going to make other than inciting stupidity etc?
Gosh, i got warned 20% for just saying that kai-v is kinda obnoctious! I dont want to get warned again, but seriously, i think its just because kai-v likes to pick on certian people. Although, we had an arguement in one of the threads the day before which makes her seem even worse. and im pretty mad at kai-v right now, so im just gonna stop typing before i do something dumb.Angry
She's not picking on people, she's trying to make WBO a safer, better and more organized forum and community. You've talking too much of how much you don't like Kai-V or find her obnoxiousness. That 20% is gonna become 30%. I don't think you want that and the mods don't want that either.

I agree they could be a little strict, but they're trying to help out. I see the reason of strictness.
Look, i get that they r just helping the WBO to be a better place and i respect that. So, in order for u to leave me alone, beycenter, im just not gonna say anything else. and by that i mean anything else about this topic. except for grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.Tired
I was only saying you should stop talking about it. We don't want you to get warned :\
there ok I think they are sorta strict but I suppose Its good it keeps us in line like me I have a LOT of earsed quote so thanks admins I love you all (sorta).....Stupid

Kai-V does not like to pick on people. The older members will know that. So before you talk, know what you're saying. Without Kai-V this community wouldn't be as far as it would be now. If Bey-Brad was still around, I guarantee, you will think he is worse. You shouldn't be mad at Kai-V or even be arguing because she is always in the right.

Not necessarily, but I try to.

And no, my favourite 'hobby' is thinking, not picking on people.
