And being in love isn't about putting someone above everything else, that's actually really unhealthy. Relationships are a lot more give and take than you seem to think they are.

Yeah, I've already understood why my advice wouldn't work for this situation. I didn't quite hit me at first why you guys thought my advice was bad.

My understanding of relationships isn't really all that terrible. It's mostly the acceptance of my being close to someone is more of a problem.

If you wait too long, there's a good chance it won't happen. From my (admittedly limited) understanding and experience, taking initiative is really important.
