i have a question on burst finishes in beyblade x but couldnt find a definitive answer. If the bit pops out a bit but the beyblade is still spinning, does it count as a burst finish or since the pieces are technically still connected and didnt fully detach does it count as still in play? an official response from a judge would be nice to have as a reference. i found a reference on reddit and one on YT where they both said its still considered live? I had this senario happen to me in a tournament where the opponents bey stopped spinning but my bey was still spinning and it wasnt noticed until after the match that my bit popped out slightly. I would like to know how WBO classifies this as there is nothing mentioned in the rulebook.
X burst rule clarification
In that instance, the battle would continue. The Beyblade has to come apart completely for it to count as a burst.
Possible bursts include:
1. Bit separation
2. Ratchet & bit separation
3. Complete separation (no combination of the blade, ratchet, or bit is still together)
Hope this answers your question!

For clarification on the ruling and OP's example, by separation, do you mean when a bit becomes dislodged/detached from its original position in the bey, or do the bit and ratchet have to physically separate completely and move apart to be considered burst? Up to now, my litmus test has been to pick the bey up after it stops spinning to see if the bit falls out naturally. Sometimes, they do! Beys that are burst but still spinning usually make a rattling sound that gives them away.

The bit has to completely separate from the ratchet, yes.

The bit has to completely separate from the ratchet, yes.
So in my previous scenario, the bit has completely separated from the top portion of the beyblade that continues to spin on it. Would this be burst or still live in play? I am just a tad confused by the inclusion of the 3 burst examples, because the first one being "bit separation" sounds to me like what I am describing, and I just wanted to make sure I am up to speed with rulings

as long as the bit doesn't fully detach/completely fall out of the hole in the ratchet, it is still considered in-play.
separation implies the full detachment from the rest of the combo, so for example:
- Bey A collides with Bey B.
- Bey A's bit is loosened from the impact, but it is still spinning in "one piece" with the bit at least partially in the ratchet's hole.
- Bey B flips over, stops spinning, and the battle is considered over.
- The blader or judge picks up Bey A, and the bit finally fully separates.
Bey A would be the winner by spin finish, as it did not fully separate from the rest of the bey while the battle was ongoing.
if it happened as:
- Bey A collides with Bey B.
- Bey B's bit is loosened from the impact, but it is still spinning in "one piece" with the bit at least partially in the ratchet's hole.
- Bey B stops spinning, and the battle is considered over.
- The blader or judge picks up Bey B, and while the bit is visibly loosened, it is still at least partially attached to the rest of the bey
Bey A would be the winner by Spin Finish, as Bey B's bit did not fully separate from the rest of the bey at any point.
if it happened as:
- Bey A collides with Bey B
- Bey A's bit is loosened from the impact, but it is still spinning in "one piece" with the bit at least partially in the ratchet's hole.
- Bey A continues to spin on its "partially bursted" bit and is visibly unstable from the loosened bit, but is still considered to be in play.
- After a few seconds, Bey A's bit finally fully separates from the rest of the combo, and the battle is considered over.
Bey B would be the winner by Burst Finish as soon as the full separation was apparent.
