This thread is for the discussion of Weiß Schwarz (pronounced as "Vais Shwarts"), a very popular collectible card game (CCG) in Japan that's starting to see some emergence in the Western world.
For those of you who play Cardfight!! Vanguard, you'll know that Bushiroad is the company that publishes the said game; Bushiroad also publishes Weiß Schwarz, which was around before Vanguard.
The object of Weiß Schwarz is to utilize your Character, Event and Climax cards of your deck to attempt and force your opponent to Level 4. This is done by keeping track of damage (time) you have on your Clock. Each Level can have a maximum of 6 damage. Any more after will cause the player to move up a Level. Although Leveling up means the player is that much closer to defeat, it also gives you access to stronger cards as your Level goes up. Another thing worth mentioning is that your don't lose if you're deck runs out, but I'll link the rules here later.
Weiß Schwarz is divided between two sides: the Weiß, or "White" side, and the Schwarz, or "Black" side. Series in the Weiß side are basically from anime featuring pretty girls, while series in the Schwarz side feature anime, manga, and games that are more geared towards boys; the Japanese call the Weiß side "cute", and the Schwarz side "cool".
I'll leave links here as it would be best to read what they have to say, rather than me trying to explain deck building tips, better/worse series, etc.

There are also numerous videos on YouTube you guys can watch on how to play the game is that's your preferred method of learning.
I recently started playing this myself as a lot of Vanguard players in Vancouver started with this game. Currently, I'm still fiddling with a "Sengoku Basara" Trial Deck to better understand the game, but I'm looking to play "Angel Beats!" and possibly "Fairy Tail".
When picking a series, it should be fairly obvious that you choose one because you watched/read/played it, and liked it. Remember, games like this and Vanguard give all decks an equal opportunity for winning.
