When the daylight isn't here to blow us away, it's time for what?? The WBO Anniversary! It's time to light up our Blader Spirits independently for a sixth year!
After more than 500 tournaments, and not that far from 100,000 Members, we've come such a long way, but we still have so much to do! Hey, you're so mistaken if you think we have explored everything!
We've got exactly what you need to bring some excitement to your life, and it starts right off with the highest crowd-pleaser: a Scavenger Hunt!!
Scavenger Hunt
Like last year, you can only try once per question, unless the question is found out to be too difficult and that we decide to allow more attempts per person. However, that would only be near the end of the Scavenger Hunt period, so be on the lookout! Forget that, you can now try as many times per question goal as you want, but we just ask that you wait for Kai-V's reply on whether the answer is good or not before you send further tries! One answer at a time, basically!
Here are the questions or goals you have to accomplish:
The more points you get, the higher on the prize-winner list you'll be!
It's simple: all you have to do to get added to the scoreboard is to send your proof of accomplishment or your answer to Kai-V by private message. You have until January 4th 2015 11:59:59 PM EST to achieve as many goals as you can, so nothing sent after that point will be accepted. Since you only have one chance per question, take some time to do your research well before submitting a wrong answer! However, we can guarantee that all of the answers are somewhere on the World Beyblade Organization's assets!
On top of that, similar to last year, we won't necessarily post a scoreboard, and you won't be told if your answer is correct. Since private messages are flowing like tsunami in that period, it'll make the job smoother!
The first hidden Face is... the Brad Face! [Image: bface.png]
Be sure to post its location right here in this topic as soon as you find it, because only the first person will be awarded points!
Scavenger Hunt Prizes
Here's what you will win depending on your number of points!
As you can see, the exclusive Face Booster VIVID [Image: faceboostervivid.png] is ever so present on this special occasion, and you can get one if you can gather 8 points in this Scavenger Hunt!
Additionally, if you're able to obtain 3 points at least, you will receive the superb Anniversary Face 2014!! [Image: anniversaryface2014.png]
If you're in between all these points, don't worry, you can also exchange them for regular but not ordinary Face Boosters! Here's what's needed:
These Face Boosters will cost 6 points each.
And these, 5 points each:
With all of that laid out for you guys, we wish you the best of luck in stumbling upon the answers! You'll probably discover some things you totally did not know about until now!
Free entry from December 13th to December 21st!
To help as many regions as possible come out to play even in winter, we'll throw an additional incentive : the entry fee will be waived from December 13th to December 21st!
You can still purchase a Blader Passport for upcoming events, but otherwise, just have fun and get together!
Your best memories of the WBO!
Hey, why not bring this back this year 'round too? A lot happened in the last year and we have got some new Members meanwhile, so what are your highlights so far on the World Beyblade Organization? You can fill out the following questions, it'll be fun to read what everyone experienced!
Feel free to add more in the list if you have other ideas!
Official WBO Book
We have chosen this occasion to officially launch a new, fabulous project: creating a WBO book!
In six years, a lot happened, and not everyone was on this ride since the beginning, so it'll be a good opportunity to round up some things, clear some inside jokes, but also develop on the greater parts of the World Beyblade Organization that you wouldn't necessarily find in everyday life!
This project will spread on probably a year, so anyone that has busy schedules during school can still participate whenever free time comes!
We're looking for a gang of authors who will commit to writing even just one section of the book. There will be various subjects, and we are targeting a size of around 50 pages, like a magazine. It's really just a matter of writing well, and sometimes doing a little extra research on a subject that interest you!
Here are the different sections we had come up with:
There's so much we could write about, but the above gives you an idea of the direction we want the book to have. However, all of it is up for discussion, and if you have any suggestions of things to change, subjects to add, people to interview, etc., we will soon open a new thread just to talk about it and collect ideas.
So what do you say? Excited to be part of the team? Excited to read it?
Seriously, have you ever seen a seriously interesting book related to Beyblade before?!
Image Slideshow on Index
We've seen you all wonder why there are sometimes 6x more guests online than Members. Well, so do we!
To help counter this and explain to visitors what the benefits of signing up on the World Beyblade Organization are, we have added a slider of images to show some of the top advantages. You'll only see the slideshow if you log out though. Let's cross our fingers!
No more Standard Rulebook
Times change, and since the Standard format isn't the type of tournament that's hosted the most anymore, we've decided to remove the Standard Rulebook altogether. That means that if you organise a tournament, yes you need to print a few more pages to account for all the formats, but at least there is only one document to refer to!
So, here's a link to the Universal Organized Play Rulebook, which is the only one left:
http://worldbeyblade.org/universalrules.pdf
For the moment, "Standard format" will keep that name, but yeah, you get the idea!
On the subject of rules, we also wanted to let you know that we are planning to make a few changes to the BeyPoint System, notably to accomodate tournaments with a lower limit of participants in dire cases, and also to support and clearly separate different formats. The revised version could take quite a while to come though since it's a lot of work! Events will still be processed meanwhile.
As times are slower than usual in Beyblade, we know you may find yourself wondering what to do anymore. But hey, it's not like everything falls to dust just because Beyblade releases are rarer. The WBO is a living proof that you don't need new products to be active in Beyblade!
Here are a few suggestions of things to do, if needed:
- Start up a tournament scene in your region: There are still a lot of orphan Bladers out there, some who are not on the World Beyblade Organization yet strangely, and, to name just one country, there's more than 75% of the United States that has essentially not been explored yet! Finding those lost Beyblade fans, whether online or physically in your region, can help an area find just enough players to hold a tournament. And wait- a change to the rules about the minimum number of participants is coming up shortly, so the target will be even lower! It's litterally at the tips of your fingers, World Bladers! And you don't have to help only for your own region; sometimes, a gesture will help worldwide!
- Tests that were never done before: Besides the Limited format which has not necessarily been fully tested yet, there are several things to test that people might not realise over time. Mercury? We barely have any idea how it works in comparison to other Metal Wheels on its level, which is what has led to there being no Beywiki article for it. On top of that, it's mentioned in this year's Scavenger Hunt, why not delve into out-of-the-ordinary formats? Zero-G + Plastics, why not? Plus, it's a secret, but we might try adding occasional 'restrictions' to the Limited format...! Prepare for it!
- Beywiki articles: The state of Beywiki is slightly better than before, but there are still so many articles missing, and some of them are not even about individual Beyblades. Think of a concept that needs to be immortalised somewhere for future or easy reference? That's probably exactly what belongs on Beywiki!
- WBO Book: You're more the type to write but not necessarily about the Beyblade spinning tops? You could participate to the WBO book project, or write your own series like some of your fellow Members!
- Imagine what the next Beyblade series will be: Why not put your mind to some juicy speculations about the future Beyblade series, if it's not a continuation of Metal Fight Beyblade? There's a lot to debate and be creative with that. http://worldbeyblade.org/Thread-Speculat...ies-system
- Be nostalgic about the Beyblade anime seasons: Less into the Beyblade toys and more interested in the anime associated with Beyblade? We just opened the Beyblade Spirit encyclopedia to the public and there's a lot to discover but also help out with! The series is full of jewels!
Got any other ideas? There's certainly not nothing to keep ourselves busy, for sure!
Host Change
We recently received the poor news that our host will be closing shop, so we just want to let you know that a move to a new host will be scheduled before the end of 2014, and during that moment the site will be temporarily closed for maintenance. Unless something goes wrong, this should only last a few hours. We will make a new announcement once we know exactly which day and time the change of host will take place, so definitely don't worry about anything!
Tweet away and be sure to share these celebrations on Facebook too! Don't forget to follow and like us as well!:

It's really just a matter of writing well, and sometimes doing a little extra research on a subject that interest you!
Here are the different sections we had come up with:
- some sort of introductory message from the Committee/a Committee Member;
- articles about two or three big, active regions (Toronto, New York, etc.) : feared players, anecdotes, inside jokes, etc.
- AND/OR one general article about tournaments to englobe anecdotes from other regions as well;
- how to become a Committee Member / and an Advanced Member;
- lists of things to buy to be competitive, without descriptions;
- history of the WBO in 3 phases : before Metal Fight Beyblade (and perhaps even a short history of Off the Chain and Beyblade Forums; getting Roan and people like him from back then would be great), Metal Fight Beyblade out in Japan, Metal Fight Beyblade out everywhere;
- Days created by WBO;
- Profiles of notable Bladers (their journey, etc.);
- WBO's "blacklist"/inside jokes (origin of carp);
- Abandoned ideas;
- history of top-tier lists;
- notable Members (e.g. th!nk);
- Brad;
- collaborations (Hasbro, Nelvana, what they gave, etc.);
- Beywiki (how it was what you were led to initially when you came, but also more);
- anecdotes (e.g. the sets of HMS avatars and signatures the Committee had once);
- graphics (Kei's section mostly);
- what happened to past Committee Members.
There's so much we could write about, but the above gives you an idea of the direction we want the book to have. However, all of it is up for discussion, and if you have any suggestions of things to change, subjects to add, people to interview, etc., we will soon open a new thread just to talk about it and collect ideas.
