In March of this year, we overhauled our WBO Organizer application process to be more accessible and to learn more about Organizers' ability to successfully manage events.
The response has been incredible: over 800 people have applied to become a WBO Organizer in the past five months, and we're seeing more new Beyblade communities pop up than ever before.
That growth has come with some challenges. We've seen an increase in new Organizers not understanding certain elements of the WBO's rules or event guidelines, which exist to ensure a great experience for event attendees. To ensure that new WBO Organizers are able to find the information they need, we've made some updates to the WBO Organizer Application.
In addition to open-ended questions on how you'd react to various tournament situations, we've added a set of multiple choice questions regarding information that can be found in WBO resources such as the Organizer's Guide. Just like our Judge Test, this is an open book test — you can keep any resources open as you complete it.
We've also moved this process off of Google Forms to ClassMarker — the same tool we use for the WBO Judge Test — to make grading applications faster and ensure that no application gets overlooked.
Because of these changes, some recent applicants may have faced a delay in receiving a response from us, for which we apologize.
These changes are not meant to act as barriers to becoming a WBO Organizer. We consider the massive increase in applications a big success, and we want to continue making organizing Beyblade events accessible to everyone. However, we believe these additions will support Organizers in running the best events possible.
We're working on other projects to improve the Organizer experience and hope to announce more soon. We're seeing more activity now than in the past 17 years of WBO history; we'll keep doing our best to support the worldwide Beyblade community!
