Jason shivered and zipped up his leather jacket as he walked down the street towards the small building. When he got there, he stopped and pulled the small folded up flyer from his jeans pocket and unfolded it. “Come battle in the Beyblade World Championships!†it read. He squinted at the small picture of the building that was on the paper. This is it, he thought nervously, as he cradled his bey through his jeans. He pushed open the door and stepped inside.
Jason was almost crushed by the crowd of people that were standing right in front of the door. He shoved and pushed through them as he made his way to the front. He walked towards the front desk and registered. “Welcome everyone to the qualifying rounds of the Beyblade World Championships!†boomed a voice from a high stand on the far wall. “We will begin shortly.†Jason walked towards one of the metal benches and sat down. He pulled out his Variares BD145RF from his pocket and set it in his lap. He took off his drawstring bag, pulled out his 3 segment grip, beylauncher LR, grip rubber, and grip support and put everything together.
“We are now beginning,†the voice from earlier shouted through the mic. “Our first battle is between Jason Douglas and Angus Torquil!†Jason got nervous goosebumps and his stomach did somersaults as he advanced to the middle of the floor towards the beystadium. He looked parallel to him as he saw the plumpy boy named Angus. Jason flipped his beylauncher LR into left spin and attached his bey onto the prongs. Angus did the same. “BLADERS READY? 3, 2, 1, LET IT RIP!†On command Angus and Jason both launched their beys at the same time causing them to collide in midair. They both crashed down into the stadium and wasted no time clashing. Jason watched as his Variares repeatedly smashed into Angus’ bey, which was a MF-H Basalt Bull 230CS. Bull quickly went into Attack mode, as it returned the favor by colliding with Jason’s Variares with amazing force.
“Let’s end this now Bull!†Angus shouted. “RAGING COLLISION!†Bull retreated towards the edge of the stadium, and quickly advanced it’s way towards Variares. It collided harshly and knocked Variares into the air. “Variares,†Jason said, calmly. “Metallic Smash.†Smoke filled the air as the sound of a high wind rung in the audience ears. The last thing heard was a loud crash and the sound of a bey hitting the stone floor. The smoke cleared and Angus’ bey was smashed into the ground, and Jason’s bey was sitting in the middle of the beystadium, looking untouched and glistening in the light. The crowd cheered, as Jason grinned widely and raised up his arm in victory.
He turned his head and noticed a man in all black, grinning in the crowd.
“WHAT AN AMAZING BATTLE!†the announcer shouted from the stand. “THE WINNER IS JASON DOUGLAS!†The crowd cheered as Angus gave him a nasty look and walked away. Jason walked out of the small building and towards his home. He looked down the street and noticed the all black man that he saw earlier, turning into an alleyway.
