November, near Christmas...

The Earth shook, it was an earthquake.
I was just doing errands with two friends of mine,
John, who was my best friend though being older than me.
And Mari, just a normal girl in the same dorm with me.

Like I said, an earthquake... the buildings collapsed said they were paper cards, the earth tore into two, as if a giant knife was cutting it.

"Vince! Mari!" John reached out.
"No, you'll just kill yourself! Get back!" I shouted back, "I'll just see you tomorrow!" I joked.
He retreated,
"Just, be careful! Find a way to come back to the dorm!"

I nodded,
"Mari! Run back! The earthquake will catch up to us!" I ordered her despite being two years younger than her.
She nodded, and so, we ran.
I looked over my shoulder, and saw nothing but dust...
"Mari, faster!"

After hours if running, we came to a stop near a local TV shop.
"The earth is tearing apart in one aide of the world..." I heard.
Just then, I heard people crying.
"Its the end of the world!" One guy shouted.
I could sense Mari being discouraged.
"Mari, don't listen to them. This is temporary, let's research on what's really happening."
"Thanks Vince..." She looked down.
We planned on going to an Internet shop and research on what is happening.
"Mari, got some spare change?"
"Don't you have money?"
"Well..." I laughed
She giggled
"Well I do have change."
I asked some, then we proceeded to enter the Internet shop.
"Sorry Kids, we're closed."
"What? Did the earthquake cut the internet?"
"No, but this may be out last day..." He hung his head, "Why don't you stay with your family?"
"We can't go to our family!" Mari cut in, "Please Mister... just one PC."
"Alright." He sighed.

We searched on almost every site we know. But all of them just showed it being the end of the world.
But I knew there was something else.
When Mari was checking the Facebook, something on the ads caught my attention.
"Government planning massive earthquake in west aide of the earth to price Providence?" It's title said.
"Mari, try that one."
She clicked on it.

The information was exactly the same with the title.

The west government is planning to sink North and South America to show their power over other governments.

"carp... this just might be true!" Shouted aloud
"Come on Mari!"
"You think this is true?"
"Yeah, it's better than the end of the world right?"
"Well it' probably the same thing!"
"Yeah, but we can stop this..." I pulled her hand and ran out of the shop.
"Where are we going?"
"To Washington..."
