Hi I was wondering if it’s possible to dye plastic gen parts for custom purposes? If so does anyone have any suggestions?
[Unanswered] Dying plastic generation parts
I might. Lemme do some science.
You would have to suspend your dye in a solvent that WON'T melt or etch the plastic in any way and let the plastic soak. Depending on the color you start with will depend on the color you use, unless it's plain white. Plastic isn't all that cool with soaking in and accepting liquid, it'd be easier and WAYY safer to just paint your parts. If you want a really close finish then I would suggest hydrodipping. As far as dying goes, regular old hair dye will stain anything, but I don't know what it does to plastic, it'll definitely fade with time, hey if it takes to hair and my bathtub why wouldn't it work on a beyblade?
