Hi guys,

i was just wondering if anyone of you did build a custom stadium and if so, what materials did you use, how much work was it and how pricey was it? do you have DIY manuals? 

Me and my friends started to get hooked on Beyblade again, but we are a few people and would like to have a stadium where 4-5 people easily can fight in without it getting to crowded in the stadium like with the small ones you buy from takara or hasbro. 

Sadly the B-50 Stadium seems to be sold out everywhere that looked like it has space for 4-5 Beyblades. 

So we thought we could build one ourself, but have no idea where to start.

I've been tempted on more than one occasion to buy one the large woks I usually see at some of the Asian supermarkets I've been to over the years for the sole purpose of playing Beyblade in with large groups. You might also try one of those, haha.

I've been tempted on more than one occasion to buy one the large woks I usually see at some of the Asian supermarkets I've been to over the years for the sole purpose of playing Beyblade in with large groups. You might also try one of those, haha.

the problem with the B-50s still on sale I'm only playing for fun with a few friends and don't want to pay around 100 € shipping included to Germany for something that originally costed around 20 €. that's why I'm thinking of doing it myself because it is way cheaper and I can make it bigger then the ones you can buy.

that is the problem, so I'm thinking about something where I can get a small slope (it doesn't need to be strong) in without needing a completely equiped workspace xD

So first off, I just created an account here. I've been with beyblade as a hobby since i got my first which...I've forgotten at this point as I don't actually have it anymore, but I do still have my A-31 Master Dragoon, my A-89 Dragoon, my A-123 Gaia Dragoon, and then a bunch of metal fusions parts. So that's me for the most part.
Disclaimer: This isn't a tutorial, but rather an explanation to give people ideas.

I know this is a year old, however I thought I should post something just in case others end up here with the same question:
you can get a 25" saucer sled, you want ones with nylon handles held on by rivets. these don't have the most aggressive slope, but there are ways to remedy this. I'll get back to that in a bit.

So first you want to remove the rivets and handles. Yes, this will leave 4 holes in your saucer, but you can fix this pretty easily with some bondo. Apply from the bottom/outside of the saucer and then smooth out on the top/inside. Do this to all 4 holes before you get around to sanding it.

From here you have a choice: you can build a stage around the saucer and from this stage build a wall or you can build the walls of the saucer up higher, gradually turning it into a bowl so it has steeper slopes.

If you don't want to spend too much money on this, go with the first option. A hexagon shaped stage around the saucer works really well if a few people are going to be using it at the same time. How you attach it is, in the end, up to you. I prefer a looser fit, just letting it sit in a hole that's just under the size of the saucer. Some people might like a tighter fit which can be achieved by placing blocks of wood under the stage to act as clamps against the saucer. In order for this to work the saucer has to actually fall below the hole of the stage and then the blocks of wood would hold it in place from there. If you find the gap is too much between the saucer and the stage then it's time for more bondo. There is one downside to lowering the saucer below the stage: if you use the 25" hole you're not going to have a lip when you use the bondo, you'll have a sharp slope that drops into the saucer. This can be remedied with a sheet of EVA foam before you bondo, just need to either find the right thickness or build it up.

If you want the slope to be more aggressive, you really need to get creative. In the past I've taken the time to bend wood. hold everything together with pocket holes and screws, and build supports around the bowl, using wood fill in some cases and bondo in others to make things fit together smoothly.

The reason this wasn't a tutorial is because it's been about 10 years or so since I've built a stadium, a nephew of mine was getting into them and wanted a stadium that was larger. I will probably be building a new stadium because now his younger siblings are getting into it and are using the new system, but the stadiums are just so small. If I do get around to building it I'll be sure to post a tutorial.
