[Unanswered]  Are previous gens obsolete?

I'm just wondering really.. should I be more focused onto buying later things than older series/booster packs? I'm not asking for specific things to purchase, just to know if they have become obsolete over time
 Thanks
Start getting sparking beys when they come out, gt releases are good too, god beys and Cho z beys (exception of revive and dead Phoenix) are not really useful. For Burst Classic get dual layers (Attack: Victory Valkyrie, Zeno Xcalibur, Defense: Kaizer Kerbeus, Stamina: Rising Ragnaruk, Zillion Zeus, Balance: Storm Spriggan, Inferno Ifrit, Gigant Gaia

Recommendations

Standard: RB Vol 19 (Amaterios), Judgement Joker, Union Achilles, Lord Spriggan, Imperial Dragon, Zwei Longinus, Master Diabolos

Thanks for the tips. It seems I prefer the look of the older bursts for some reason, most ones of late are hit or miss for me, of course it's not about the aesthetic though at least most times.
If you strictly looking to buy Beys for competitive use, then GT is the way to go. Although there are some older parts from Cho-Z/god that are considered meta.

Some of the older beys are still fun to use though and can be had for a good price, so I would still say go for them if just looking to add to your collection.

thanks for the help, yeah, as far as competitively, that might be awhile before that comes into fruition for me. I ended up buying one of the stadiums that wasn't tournament legal anyways heh, the B-50. I wanted to be able to house more action (more things to go on)

Once again, just seems like I prefer the looks of the older ones as opposed to the newer ones. They'll grow on me eventually I suppose
Here’s a great older set with some fantastic parts. Absolutely killer price too.
