BEYBLADE REVIVAL CUP
SATURDAY, MAY 29, 2010
Anime North 2010 @ Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel

Golden Delicious Room
STANDARD (MFB/BMF) FORMAT

9 AM - Free Battle and Set Up
10 AM - "Beyblade 101" Workshop
11 AM - Free Battle and Registration for Beyblade Revival Cup
12 PM - Beyblade Revival Cup Tournament

In 2008, we hosted the BEYBLADE'S NOT DEAD! tournament- which was planned well before we knew that just one short year later MFB would be launching in Japan. However, now the time has come for Bladers all across the nation to celebrate the launch of BEYBLADE: METAL FUSION in Canada! Thus, for the third year in a row we will be hosting our marquee event at ANIME NORTH 2010, hosted by ANGaming, this year under the title; BEYBLADE REVIVAL CUP!

No Beyblade? No problem! We're going to try to obtain Beyblades to bring with us so you'll be able to draft the parts to form a full Beyblade (for approx. $10), then you can play and trade with other Bladers before the tournament to hone your skills!

A Blader Passport is not required for this tournament, as AN does not allow event organizers to charge entry fees for events within the convention, however if you want to support the WBO so we can host even better tournaments, with even better prizes in the future, and also participate in our world ranking system, the BeyPoints System, then you will need one!

We encourage all Bladers, both the brand new and the old to attend! With Beyblade becoming mainstream again, this has the possibility of becoming the largest tournament we have ever hosted, which means that competition will be fiercer than ever! You don't want to miss it! Hope to see you there!

If you think you'll be able to come, please post here and I will start building an attendance list!

BEY MEET-UP - FRIDAY MAY 28TH
6pm @ Doubletree Lobby

For those of you who can make it on Friday, we're planning on having a small meet-up. It shouldn't be too hard to find us; stadiums will be strewn about the floor, and I'll try to get a BEYBLADE BATTLE STATION poster up.

If there is enough people, we could potentially have a single elimination tournament as well (don't want to complicate things for something small like that).

Need-to-Know Information

1. During Registration, Open Your Account Page

Open your account page on your mobile device (if possible) during registration to help us keep things quick.

2. Arrive On Time

You must arrive by the tournament start time to enter. We cannot add new players to an event once it begins. If you're running late, contact the host.

3. Stay Aware of Your Belongings

We do everything possible to ensure a safe environment, but can't be held responsible for lost or stolen goods. Keep your gear close by!

4. The Tournament Will Last At Least a Few Hours

This event is likely to last at least a few hours. If you can't commit to the entire tournament, you're welcome to come watch and play for fun instead!

5. Listen For Your Username To Be Called

Your name will be called when it's time for your next battle. If you need to leave early or take a break, tell a judge. Missing a match could mean disqualification!

6. Players Must Meet Regional Product Age Restrictions

All players in this event must meet the age restrictions on Beyblade products in their region. TAKARA-TOMY recommends Beyblade for ages 6+. Hasbro recommends Beyblade for ages 8+. Players under these ages may only participate with the permission of their parent/guardian.

7. Players Under 18 Must Be Accompanied by a Parent/Guardian

If you are under 18 years old, a parent/guardian must accompany you and be present for the duration of the event.

8. Contests, Raffles, Gambling, Betting, and Selling Are Prohibited

Advertising the sale of any product or service, as well as posting about any contest, raffle, gambling, or betting on this event page and conducting them at the event without approval by Fighting Spirits Inc. staff is prohibited. Please contact the Organized Play team if you require approval.

9. Terms of Service

All event attendees and users of this website are subject to our Terms of Service.

Well, according to google maps anyways Gasp

That is the place.

Not sure. I'm a little worried with how many people will want to draft this year, since I'm a little short on shooters. I will be picking up some extra Hasbro Beyblades however, so hopefully that will help cover everything.

Like I said earlier, if anybody has extra shooters/parts, please be awesome and donate. Smile

I'm guessing beylaunchers don't wear down?
If not I'm prob gonna keep a light launcher and donate the rest at BRC Smile
Hahaha, never say never. Seems I will be able to make it after all. Assuming I don't get lost in the wonder that is the TTC of course.

I'll toss in a few right launchers.

The only chance I have of getting there is by car.

Which, in fact is a low chance because I doubt my mom will be willing to wake up at like 6:30 in the morning for a game of spinning tops.

The reason why I can't use a bus is because when the bus comes it's like 8:30PM (and I doubt im sleeping over at the hotel.) Plus the bus trip is about 2h, about 4x longer the the avrg car ride there D:

Oh well, still hoping to get there, =)

You don't have to be there at 9. The tourney won't begin for a few hours. Last year I think it started at like 11:30 or 12:00

Yes I know but I want to be there for a good amount of free battles, how competitive it is, and all the other features you guys are providing seeing how this is my first time.
hey guys i read the post about the rival cup and it says there will be prizes. who do the prizes go to and what kind of prizes are they. are they bey blades launchers or what?
First of all it's the "revival cup" I think almost all of this should have been self explanitory if you used a search bar or read all of these pages.

The first, second, and third place finishers respectively, of course ...
No, of course the prizes go to me, who might not even be able to attend. Of course.

Ah, other more important matters to attend. Out of context though, I will regret not going.

Come to one of our tournaments in the summer! Wink
What tournaments !!! They usually have a 5-10$ fee right? I'd love to come rawr! Even though I know the statement is directed at Kai

There will definitely be tournaments this summer in Toronto, but with BRC coming up, we aren't ready to start talking about them yet.

To answer your other question, yes they usually have a fee. $5 for entry into an individual tournament, or $10 for a Blader Passport which gives you access to all WBO tournaments for an entire year.
I think I'll buy a passport how many tourneys you have a year 7? That also gives bey points when you battle other bladers with the passport right? Getting back to BRC will we get bey points from BRC?

Last year we had two, of an attempted three (the third was short one person). However, with BMF having been launched I imagine there will be much more! Khel and I are planning to organize two more tournaments this summer, and Minion is also thinking of hosting one.

Yes you will gain BeyPoints at BRC, and your performance will be reflected in the rankings.
If the Takara tomy and the Hasbro versions have different quality beys, how big of a problem will this be and how do you think we would solve this?
put me on the possible list.

I'm new here and i saw the high park video on bey channel and it looked fun. so i might be attending the BRC.

We would likely not do anything about it unless it was a massive, widespread issue across all Hasbro Beyblades. But, the quality doesn't seem to be different at all thus far, so this isn't an issue.
Just keep in mind guys that the factories these beys come out of are probably the same or very similar. Product differences will probably be minor if any (ie. slight mold variants). The actual materials used are gonna be the same. It doesn't make sense to do it any other way from a business perspective.
I saw that in earlier posts you stated that we could receive beys in the situation where we don't have our own.
This question sort of popped up in my mind; Do you simply receive extras from WBO members who just wanted to donate, or do you actually have a fund where you can wrangle them up yourselves?

What we're doing is a draft. Which essentially is going to be a a large assortment of parts. For approx 10 bucks a player who does not have a bey (emphasize the 'do not' part) they can get a bey made from a random set of parts (Parts will be in boxes and you would need to draw)

Kei was asking if people had extra parts to donate, since even though we're buying as much as we can, we might run short.

Since the BMF beyblades are around in Toronto, Whitby, Oshawa etc. we will have lots more competitors. I even told my friends about it and they are coming with me to BRC! 2 tornaments in the summer would be awesome.
