BEYBLADE REVIVAL CUP
SATURDAY, MAY 29, 2010
Anime North 2010 @ Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel

Golden Delicious Room
STANDARD (MFB/BMF) FORMAT

9 AM - Free Battle and Set Up
10 AM - "Beyblade 101" Workshop
11 AM - Free Battle and Registration for Beyblade Revival Cup
12 PM - Beyblade Revival Cup Tournament

In 2008, we hosted the BEYBLADE'S NOT DEAD! tournament- which was planned well before we knew that just one short year later MFB would be launching in Japan. However, now the time has come for Bladers all across the nation to celebrate the launch of BEYBLADE: METAL FUSION in Canada! Thus, for the third year in a row we will be hosting our marquee event at ANIME NORTH 2010, hosted by ANGaming, this year under the title; BEYBLADE REVIVAL CUP!

No Beyblade? No problem! We're going to try to obtain Beyblades to bring with us so you'll be able to draft the parts to form a full Beyblade (for approx. $10), then you can play and trade with other Bladers before the tournament to hone your skills!

A Blader Passport is not required for this tournament, as AN does not allow event organizers to charge entry fees for events within the convention, however if you want to support the WBO so we can host even better tournaments, with even better prizes in the future, and also participate in our world ranking system, the BeyPoints System, then you will need one!

We encourage all Bladers, both the brand new and the old to attend! With Beyblade becoming mainstream again, this has the possibility of becoming the largest tournament we have ever hosted, which means that competition will be fiercer than ever! You don't want to miss it! Hope to see you there!

If you think you'll be able to come, please post here and I will start building an attendance list!

BEY MEET-UP - FRIDAY MAY 28TH
6pm @ Doubletree Lobby

For those of you who can make it on Friday, we're planning on having a small meet-up. It shouldn't be too hard to find us; stadiums will be strewn about the floor, and I'll try to get a BEYBLADE BATTLE STATION poster up.

If there is enough people, we could potentially have a single elimination tournament as well (don't want to complicate things for something small like that).

Need-to-Know Information

1. During Registration, Open Your Account Page

Open your account page on your mobile device (if possible) during registration to help us keep things quick.

2. Arrive On Time

You must arrive by the tournament start time to enter. We cannot add new players to an event once it begins. If you're running late, contact the host.

3. Stay Aware of Your Belongings

We do everything possible to ensure a safe environment, but can't be held responsible for lost or stolen goods. Keep your gear close by!

4. The Tournament Will Last At Least a Few Hours

This event is likely to last at least a few hours. If you can't commit to the entire tournament, you're welcome to come watch and play for fun instead!

5. Listen For Your Username To Be Called

Your name will be called when it's time for your next battle. If you need to leave early or take a break, tell a judge. Missing a match could mean disqualification!

6. Players Must Meet Regional Product Age Restrictions

All players in this event must meet the age restrictions on Beyblade products in their region. TAKARA-TOMY recommends Beyblade for ages 6+. Hasbro recommends Beyblade for ages 8+. Players under these ages may only participate with the permission of their parent/guardian.

7. Players Under 18 Must Be Accompanied by a Parent/Guardian

If you are under 18 years old, a parent/guardian must accompany you and be present for the duration of the event.

8. Contests, Raffles, Gambling, Betting, and Selling Are Prohibited

Advertising the sale of any product or service, as well as posting about any contest, raffle, gambling, or betting on this event page and conducting them at the event without approval by Fighting Spirits Inc. staff is prohibited. Please contact the Organized Play team if you require approval.

9. Terms of Service

All event attendees and users of this website are subject to our Terms of Service.

Oops! Haha, since our schedule is the exact same as last year, I just copied it from the BWR thread, but obviously forgot to change the name of the event on that line.
Oh ok. Cuz I thought we were gonna have war room later after the tourny when it said war room on the thread
i dont have a beyblade and i have no idea where to go and get one help me thank you

Since you're posting here, I assume you're living in Canada? If so, then you'll be able to buy them in stores soon! Or, if you are unable to do that for whatever reason, and you are in the Toronto area, as it says in the OP, you can draft a Beyblade from us at the tournament.
(May. 04, 2010  9:03 PM)Pockyx3 Wrote: errr....so should we bring a lunch? or is there gonna be stuff to eat there?

If you have the option, bring your lunch, the restraunts in the area (walking distance) include: tim hortons, subway, harveys, and some family restraunts/sushi houses. There is also a 24hr convenience store, and a gas station. I think the con itself sells some food, but it's not very good and is generally overpriced.

Someone was asking for bus routes ->
Quote:Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) www.ttc.ca
The Malton 58 bus westbound, from Lawrence West subway station stops right
in front of the TCC, a stop past Martin Grove. To reach the Park Plaza
Hotel, go one stop further west and get off at Skyway. Head north on
Skyway then east on Carlson Court. For further directions, or alternate
routes, call TTC Information at (416) 393-INFO (4336) or visit the TTC
website.
Any idea what parking is going to be like?
it's usually fine, if you park directly at the hotel this is at you have to pay, if you park at the convention center it's free

Okay great, thank you. I also didn't know AN had three different venues, good to see that they have shuttle buses running.

It really isn't that far of a distance between them; I've always walked. But, it is good that they have them.
When we get there is there gonna be people telling us where events are?
Because I really don't want to get lost Tongue_out

AN will post a schedule on their website before the convention. Wink
Definitely try to get a schedule before the con, and figure out where you want to go. The staff that direct people to events are always swamped, and usually have no idea where the smaller events, like our tournament, will be held. Not to mention how far away some stuff is from each other...

Yeah we walked it last year, even with all the bey-gear from the tourney. The distance is really short.

BRC is not going to be a small event. Wink

I'm actually worried we're going to break the maximum room occupancy this year haha, but Ron has said we might have access to another room in the event that this does happen.
We're gonna need to be very organized for the matches to run smoothly. Possibly some tournament software or something. If not I'm sure one of us can run excel during the tourney.

EDIT: You know I'll take a peak at some excel tournament grids cause that's what I do on a Friday night.

Yeah, I was going to ask you about this soon. PM me with what you find and we can figure out how we're going to organize this.
This must be a joke lol: All hotels are full LOL.

Let me clarify: I didn't mean small like poorly attended, I meant small like not everyone will know it's happening. Thousands and thousands of people attend loads of simultaneous events @ AN. People will no more know where the beyblade room is, than where the obscure card game tournament is.
can you put me on Possible Attendees because i might not be able to make it. ill infrom you a week ahead of the tounament if i can go
YO GUYS ADD ME IN THIS TOURNAMENT PLZ!!!!!!!!!! and number 2, I have a beyblade, metal fight, and I dont have any money, can I still participate?

You need to buy a ticket to enter Anime North though, in case they verify tickets upon entry.

It is a lot, however it is out of our control : that is what Anime North generally charges, it is not even our entry fee, nor does it include our regular five-dollar entry fee. The tournament is definitely going to be worth it in my opinion however.
Its not JUST for the tourny. The 40 bucks gives you entery to the Anime North Convention. this is where all the anime episodes, some screening, cosplayers. The Tournament is just one of the MANY attractions inside AN.

EDIT: Kai-V, Do you have a sensor to post things like 1 minute before everyone else? Or are you just Pro? xP
