Almost a year to the date since "A Timely Farewell," Time comes back to you all with the latest and greatest in the Maryland tournament series, "Before the Burst." Since pretty soon all of our blading knowledge will be consumed with the burst meta, it's time to honor the formats that have led us up to this exciting moment, those of Bakuten Shoot and Metal Fight Beyblade!

I'll see if I can't do something about getting a real cake as well.

In all seriousness Starbursts will be featured prominently at this event.

As snazzy as those graphics are you're still probably wondering why you want to come to this event.

Reason #1. See aforementioned comment about Starbursts
Reason #2. Opportunity to participate in a team format event.
Reason #3. Opportunity to play Zero-G without F230CF/GCF
Reason #4. Battle a number of the top-ranked bladers in the world.
Reason #5. Rocking prizes, more details to follow
Reason #6. Opportunity to play multiple formats in one day.
Reason #7. Only region in the world that offers 2 on 2 tournaments (unofficial).
Reason #8. Time sells rare plastics and hms really cheaply.
Reason #9. Earn credits that can be used towards prizes from the blader rewards.
Reason #10. Earn faces to help make your profile look even snazzier.
Reason #11. Get to meet some really swell people.
Reason #12. Beyblading is fun
Bonus Reason: This is one of the only days all summer Time is available so it might be your only chance.

Info Stuff:

Date: 6/28/15

Location: MLK Park (The closest address to put in your GPS is 1098 Jackson Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904, but be sure to look at the map for the actual location of the tournament
which will be beside the pavilion (just above the basketball courts))

Registration: 11:30-12:00
Tournaments will start promptly at noon and I expect we will be done around 5.

Fees: $5 to participate per tournament, $10 for a blader passport
$5 for 2 on 2, this helps cover the cost of all prizes distributed

Formats:
We will be playing some combination of Zero-G, Plastics, HMS, Limited, and 2 on 2 based on the results of the poll. One of the official formats will be played in teams.

Limited: http://worldbeyblade.org/Forum-MFB-Limited-Discussion

Team: http://worldbeyblade.org/Thread-Introduc...on-9-27-14

2 v. 2: A partner is randomly selected for you. You proceed to play matches with all four bladers launching at once. First team to win 5 rounds (5/9) wins the match. Depending on turnout this will likely be double elimination. Once being crowned champions, the winning team will square off against each other in one more 5/9 match (2 switches of beys allowed) to determine who will take home the prize.

Prizes: Stuff from Time's goody bag that includes rare HMS and Plastics, launcher accessories, and other surprises.

Speaking of that if anyone has stadiums they can bring it would be greatly appreciated as if Stars doesn't come we'll be a little strapped for both bb-10 and zero-g.
I've got lots of stadiums, I gotchu.
Put me as a weak maybe actually. I just moved into my new house in Pennsylvania so I might be able to drive down to Silver Spring if things are all calmed down and unpacked and stuff by this weekend.

EDIT: Is the format pretty much decided on as Zero-G , Team Plastics, Limited 2 on 2? I doubt 6 votes will get upset in the next 4 days and I might not be able to get on the computer as frequently this week so I just want to make sure I bring the right stuff.

And for the Limited 2 on 2, what if we did the matches G-Revolution style rather than all 4 people at once?
@[Wombat] I like it. I think it would be about a 3 hour drive depending from where in Pennsylvania. Yeah, I think the formats are pretty much set at this point. The only thing I could see changing would be whether we play Limited or Plastics in 2 on 2/team.
And sorry, Im not sure I know what exactly you mean by G-Revolution style.

@[Dark_Mousy] It looking like there's any chance of you coming/bringing anyone else with you?

If you watched the anime you would know what I'm talking about, it when it's a best of three match but only the winner moves on. So if there were like two teams of two Bladers, A &B and C & D, it would go something like this

A > C
B < D
A > D

Where B and C wouldn't be in the final match because they had lost.

EDIT: forgot to tag you @[Time]
@[Wombat] is that really how it works in the show? Hmm it has been a while since I've watched it. However, as fun as that might be I think you'll see that two on two is a great deal of fun as well so I think I'll hold to it. (Trust me, it's a boatload of fun) Hope you can make it!
Sorry guys doesnt look like ill be able to make it
If you didn't already have enough motivation to come to this tournament, check out the attendance list! Maryland is shaping up to possibly hit 20 participants for the first time since our last qualifier!
Good luck Tommarow
a wild arupaeo appeared?

sweeetness
Its not looking good for me to be able to make it. Some personal obligations may get in the way.
Tournament is tomorrow! Please make sure to familiarize yourself with the rules of all of the different formats we will be playing as well as make note of the fees.

Also, if team format goes as quickly as I think it might, if everyone else is game I would be cool with upping limited to a full format and playing HMS in 2 on 2 as well.

Also, other super cool realization: this will be the first team format event not held in Toronto.
Good luck tomorrow, guys! Smile
Good luck to everybody tomorrow!
Don't mean to butt in, but that Timeline graphic is awesome.

Oh yeah, I'm in! See you all tomorrow!

Oh, and BRV is in too. Smile
So I am officially #confirmed for this event. I have a BB-10 and BBG-03, do you need me to bring them? Also anyone interested in squadding up for Plastics? I won the only Plastics tournament I've been in so I like to think that I'm good with them.

More stadiums are always welcome considering it looks like we're at my goal and perfect number for tomorrow's events of 18.
Hey the link for the team rules doesn't work
I can look for my BB-10. Don't know if I'll find it.
There appears to be a birthday party going on here? What do?
We are by the bathrooms. near a green box thing
What a day of bey it was! A number of faces new and old came out to celebrate Sniper's birthday and MLK Park's return to spirited competition. In total, we had 20 bladers playing at various points and a number of spectators. An old Plastics aficionado from Off the Chain who goes by the name dirt2 even showed up and made quite a splash playing on beymaster15963's team Rising From the Ashes and along with Dr. IM carrying them to second in the tournament. In total, we played four tournaments on the day with only one of them actually counting for beypoints. While not quite the schedule we had initially planned, it was quite a fun one, we played Team Plastics, Zero-G without F230, HMS, and a single elimination bout of Limited for combo fun and kicks and giggles.

Now on to the results:
Absolutely dominating the team tournament by going undefeated, a team near and dear to my heart: Atlantic Coast Elites (ACES) composed of Angry Face, Ginga, and I.
the other teams broke down as follows:
GOds: Stars, geetster99, and Sniper
Team Fresh: Greninja Master and two new bladers with a bright future Death Wolf and littledude99
SuperBladers: OnTheDL, Tech, and Wombat
Rising From the Ashes: beymaster15963, Dr. Im, and dirt2
Team I Have No Clue: Burn Rock Virgo, Night Wing 247, and Arupaeo

Prizes in parentheses

In Zero-G:
Sniper took first celebrating his birthday (DEMS)
Arupaeo returned with a bang taking second (Bump King and Dranzer S)
and Wombat taking third (Thunder Dragon)

In HMS:
Time took third
Stars took second (some plastic or other)
geetster99 took first (keychain mini beyblades)

In Single Elimination limited:
geetster99 took third (build-a-bey)
Stars took second (Some Wing S130 combo)
Angry Face took first (Dranzer F)

Winning combos, results, and fees to be submitted shortly.
Cool, twenty Bladers is awesome these days, and with all the formats you guys played. Did anybody film the tournament ?
@[Kai-V] I don't think anyone got any film, but @[Arupaeo] is itching to host an introduction to Burst event if you'd let him after the turnout today in late August
