Reverend Rip’s Riptide

Part the waters and bridge the gap between generations as you battle in interchanging formats. Swap between burst and X at every launch. This event is community-oriented, family-friendly, and indoors. The reserved room fits large numbers of people, so bring as many spectators as you wish!

We will start battles 15 minutes after 1:30 PM to make time for bladers to check their deck and think over their strategy. Bladers arriving after battles begin will not be able to participate.

A Metal Fight event is also happening directly after this one!

Format: Burst + X, Experimental, UNRANKED
Participant Cap: 24
Number of Takara Tomy Stadiums: 2 Xtreme and 2 Standard Stadiums

Host / Head Judge: ORGANIZER
Cohost: bladee
Judges: Neo, liwfie, Mejdouli

Feel free to bring any stadiums you would like for the free play area on the side! If anyone would like to buy snacks to share, it would be very appreciated! We can’t provide food for this event, so any volunteers are welcome.

Rules

Each Blader will come to the stadium with a deck of 4 beyblades. Decks will be comprised of 2 Burst Standard Format Beys, and 2 X Format Beys with no repeating parts between the duo beyblades of the same system.

Players will present their deck of 4 to their opponent before the battle begins, and are allotted 2 minutes or shorter to decide the order of their deck for the match.

Battles will be played in a 4v4 format.
The Bladers' matches will alternate between Burst and X, starting with Burst and followed by X.

A Blader's Deck will look as such:

Bey 1: Burst
Bey 2: X
Bey 3: Burst (No repeated parts from Bey 1)
Bey 4: X (No repeated parts from Bey 2)

Judges will approve the order of the 4 Beys and the match will begin. This means that Burst and X will not be pitted against one another.

Each match will be played to 4 points.

Spin Finish: 1 point
Bursts and Over Finishes: 2 points
Xtreme Finishes: 3 points

If players get to the end of their deck of 4 before the match is decided, they will reshuffle their deck.

Prizes

1st Place: Earth Aquila 145WD & Gold TC Display Stand
2nd Place: Ray Unicorno D125CS & Silver TC Display Stand
3rd Place: Galaxy Pegasis W105R²F & Bronze TC Display Stand

Hi, I am interested to join this tournament, but sadly I only have beyblades from the X series and nothing from the Burst series. Will I be able to loan 2 burst beyblades during this event?
I don't know if I'll make it on that day, but I'll let you know
I have many Burst series beys but no X series. Is it possible to borrow a couple of X beys? I could also loan a couple of burst beys to others in exchange if needed.
good news, there's a chance i'm coming

Definitely. A lot of people will have spare x stuff and launchers.

Definitely. I and others will have stuff to loan out to anyone lacking some gear.

There's another player I replied to above who only has burst and no x, so maybe you two could help each other out!

Hey SilasJ12, You can borrow my X series beys! I will need some burst beys from you too.
is rotation changing allowed?
Tuckwolf any chance I can co-host with ya?

Spin changes will be allowed as they would in a normal burst tourney.

Hi Cody,

I know I'm not the person you're trying to reach but we talked about it and here's what we came up with:

Since you're not an organizer yet, we can't have you actually co-host the event since that goes against the WBO rules. However, it would totally be okay if you shadowed me or Tuckwolf and looked at how we set up for tournaments including setting up the venue, getting Challonge going, and the order in which battles are done. I think this would be a great opportunity for you to learn how organizing works to hopefully prepare you for when you get awarded with the organizer title.

Im pretty sure a pin changes aren’t allowed in normal burst tournaments haha. We will be allowing them though since that’s more fun.

That'd be great. I'll accept any help or advice you can give me. I'd like to shadow you and learn more about the tourney setup and using Challonge, and I think this would be a great opportunity. Thanks, again for your help.

P.S. What time do you like for me to be there before the event starts?

We will probably be there about an hour before the event. Any time after that you are welcome to come and we can show you how it goes setting up before a tournament. You can also ask any questions you might have about organizing then!

Hi Chakraboy. Great!  I’ll be there.
Hi! New to Beyblades here, and playing with my son (5 years old) for about a month now.

Would this be a good event for us to show up and play some non-tournament, casual matches against other people?

Or will there be a lot of focus on the tournament only? We wouldn't be in the tournament itself, he's just excited to play against other people and see how his would do playing against others.
Thanks

Hey! We usually have plenty of free play stadiums available for people to play while it’s not their turn to battle. You can definitely bring him! We also have a ton of kids that usually show up with their parents as well.
Is he playing Burst or X?
liwfie Wrote:Is he playing Burst or X?

Thanks!  We have Burst only, since X is so new. We got most of them second-hand.

No worries! A lot of us utilize second-hand markets and other similar ways to get beys all the time. We have a LOT of burst stadiums and so I'm sure there will be one open most of the time you guys would be at the tourney! There are also a lot of experienced burst users who would love to answer any questions you guys have or loan you or your son any parts you might want to try out! We also have a discord server with lots of resources to buy X beys for Japanese prices (usually about 20% cheaper than US and sometimes more) as well as discussion about other beys. I also suggest you check out the listing for the tournament after this one, Tuckwolf's Twisted Tempo  which will use the older Metal Fight beys that will be being loaned out for they tourney. I hope to see you guys there!
