Record of Highest Beyblade Auctions in History

This seemed like it deserved a whole new topic, because it is not necessarily about overpriced items : some rare Beyblades are worth what they are worth. Plus, we might include this on Beywiki, but for the moment, here it is.

I found a site that lists all the highest auctions on Yahoo! Japan Auctions from 2011 to 2014 for Beyblade-related items. eBay most likely never had auctions that high that actually got won anyway, so this is probably accurate for all possible sites. It is just unfortunate because all of the auctions have long expired and been deleted from Yahoo! Japan Auctions, therefore, for some of the lots mentioned, unless someone here won them, we have no way of knowing what was in them : perhaps the reason they sold for that much was because they had the first mould of Aries, etc.

As you can see, one thing history can teach us is that if you are really patient, you will get most items easily later for better prices. All those people who bought those Legend Beyblade Sets and the Storm Pegasis Galaxy Red Version must be eating their fingers right now, hah.
Oh my eyes on those list especially the 1st one is crazy.
3 beys for $400? What limits do these people have for a spinning top?

It's 1079.21 us dollars. The list is mad crazy!

that's an insane price, they can't charge that much

That is not how much the seller charged. That is not at all how an auction works. That price is how much people were ready to fight to and were willing to buy the item for.
Wow...... Are there really people who have THAT much money to spare??? Or did they pass on a badly needed new car to be able to buy that stuff? Tongue_out_wink
Yep, they are definitely out of hand. They probably wished they didn't have to pay that much for a beyblade now.

as you can see, these people could have got these items for much less (or at least at "par" (regular) price). If only they THINK BEFORE BIDDING.

Sorry if anyone is offended by this.

Well, it really depends : some of the items, like the Legend Beyblade Set, was definitely a huge error for those high bidders, since it became rather easily available afterwards these days. However, Grade 1 gold prizes are not something that will reasonably be released like anything, and the plaque with the Pegasis Face mark on it for the first-place winner is absolutely rare itself too.
I sold a bunch of items for higher than many of those listed here. My Aries 125D sold on YJ for over ¥100,000 so this list is definitely not totally complete. Still cool!

Before 2011 perhaps ? The site only recorded from 2011 to 2014.
Wow, missed the total obvious. Oops.

Seeing the prices of some of that stuff is just crazy. Remember passing on the black Dragoon GT set because ¥9000 was too much. Makes me wish I had hung onto my a lot of my older stuff for longer. Joke is on us for not keeping that stuff NIB.

That said, I do still have an ice-blue Wolborg MS sitting around ...
I should have probably written "[...] in History* *history since 2011" hah.

Rather spiffy looking blue Dragoon GT kicking around for <Â¥30,000 right now...
Ha, the gold Wyvern DJ almost made this list (that should give you all an idea of what we paid for it).

Whaaaaaaat. I thought it was like ¥60,000.
One of my Libras – black or red – sold for that much. Aries was around ¥120,000 IIRC.
Wow amazing resource! Some of them are really (really!) impressive xD
Oh yo, I was bidding on this auction, but it just totally trashed the record in the first post :
http://page22.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/au...l243368190

In case the pictures disappear eventually, it contained :
2 Shining God MS
2 Bloody Devil MS
2 Jiraiya MS
2 Fukubako 2005
Almost twenty random Plastics
2 Launchers
Twin Battle Bey Double Shooter Set (black Wyvern DJ, blue/black Dragoon MS, yellow Gaia Dragoon MS and white Driger MS)

Sold for 166,001 yen.
I figured the record to be broken sooner or later but not by such a margin, wow.
It seems that Oki got outbid by 1000 yen in the last 2 seconds. Probably didn't expect that.
Huh.
I wonder who won..

Quite obviously the people who are spending the money they won from the lottery wisely. Serious

But seriously, that's actually crazy- no, amazing, haha. The person who won them is extremely lucky for sure. I'm sure anybody on this forum including me would die for Beyblades like those, as well.
EDIT: NEVERMIND (though $1,600 is still crazy).
