for some reason the older series don't really interest me much

maybe it's the art and doesn't look so.. "fresh"? i mean i know it's old, but i can't stand the RX-78 looking less streamlined (aka fat looking) as compared to the other gundams i've seen so far (now i know there's plenty and there's not much possibility for me actually learning every single one of their names).

I'd kinda of figure that. The graphics aren't that great, but if you ever want to watch a classic and meaningful Gundam series, MSZ is what you should watch.
