They only difference is the #15 he has an the manga was lost cause of Lane. His like both the asahi Bros the got the legend status without being top 15. From understanding you don't lose the legend status even if your not top 15
Even this changed in the manga because Shu reclaimed his #2 position and Lain fell out of the Legend ranking so Rantaro is still #15 in the manga.

Rantaro is a Legend in both the manga and the anime. He's ranked #15. There was a brief disruption when Lain joined which likely resulted in Rantaro being pushed down to #16 (though I don't remember a direct panel showing this) This didn't remain the case because Lain ended up falling out of the rankings after Shu defeated him and reclaimed his #2 spot.
At the end of sparking, the ranking is this
1. Valt Aoi
2. Shu Kurenai
3. Aiger Akabane
4. Free De La Hoya
5. Lui Shirosagi
6. Dante Koryu
7. Phi
8. Gwyn Reynolds
9. Delta Zakuro
10. Xander Shakadera
11. Silas Karlise
12. Zac Kaneguro
13. Wakiya Murasaki
14. Daigo Kurogami
15. Rantaro Kiyama
16. Hikaru Hizashi
17. Hyuga Hizashi
That should hopefully answer all of your questions.
Yes it did thank you very much. So lane got knocked from the legend rankings….interesting i thought his rank just went down to 3 after shu beat him but apparently he was kicked from the legend rankings entirely. I wonder if the same actually happend with rashad since he was never called a legendary blader even when he was the no.1 and even after he lost it. Imma just say this in advance but sorry for the questions its like when i get an answer another question appears the manga rankings are so confusing.
Edit: just saw what dragruler said lane only dropped one?

I want to make a small Correction Lane wasnt actually kick out he just drop when shu regain his #2 spot. Everyone drop un fact everyone simple drop one spot (thats a thing apparently) .
So lane only dropped one? So lane is currently no.3?
If its ok to ask is there possibly a ranking list after DB that explains the current ranking?
All ik is Valt is. No.1 due to the champion title not being connected to the no.1 rank.
