After letting it sit I don't think I like the direction Khrome is taking all that much. Doesn't meaningfully connect to his progression in season 1 imo. Though on the other hand, I am genuinely interested in a Bird backstory. Since I think his battle with Tsubasa is a flashback from when he was in his hometown, maybe he'll win for once.

And I guess Aiga either has plot armor or natural talent compared to Valts inhuman efforts.
Aiga's been described as a natural talent around the time of his debut. Additionally, Aiga was a metal worker before he started beyblading, and metal working is a profession that requires alot of strength and that's in addition to his insane athleticism and endurance. He demonstrated these qualities at the start of his season as we saw him using the forest and the high trees he swang from as a jungle gym, something that Valt was shown struggling with as opposed to Aiga. Valt is obviously still stronger and the number 1 blader in the world and all that but it was clear from his start that Aiga was going to be a strong blader with respectable talent.
Both Valt and Shu were described as natural talents and they both had to train, and train hard to reach the heights they did.

True but I was talking about Aiga, the topic of that conversation.
The Design in SuperKing/Surge for Dante Koryu is SO GOOD I just love it so much, you don't see many good designed buzzcut characters.
okay who is going to start the cx line in bbx will it be multi or some one else?
I think Beyblade X could use more Adventures / Exploring the World arcs. I understand they went for the Sponsor approach for the X Towers and all, but it's been two seasons of the gang sitting in the Sushi Restaurant, besides some occassional happenings like Multi's training arc.
I would love to see Team Persona travel around the world, explore different cultures and all that.

I'm going back through DB and I really do think I never gave it enough credit. I've said this before (I think) but I might as well articulate those thoughts with some character analyses.

idek whats new lol someone gotta inform i aint been on this site in a minute.. been busy
TBH I liked the X seiries better
Now I don't actually like beating dead horses, but I do have to actually put out into the world this feeling I've had for the longest: Man, the anime has really fallen off, huh? I'm not even talking about subjective enjoyment; I mean overall popularity. At its peak, a large multitude of Burst videos were getting hundreds of thousands of views when only the fansubs were out. Crazy thing is, these weren't even real clips; they either had fake, worse-than-Google-Translate subs or were just crappy AMVs. And, mind you, this is for a hobby anime, which is like a niche cubed. I think more than analyzing the writing and story, this might be the most important factor when doing an analysis of this Gen of the Beyblade anime. I understand lots of audiences would logically leave once they saw their favorite characters finally get axed, but I don't believe this to be the case here. Starting from X episode 1, the audience directly transferred over, like every other season, before majorly dwindling. And I really hate to say this, but anime-related WBO discussion has essentially become roadkill by now. It's not like we ever had insane numbers; this is a forum in the modern age of the internet after all, but the amount of discussion has objectively dropped off a cliff even here, just go look at those old Sparking episode threads.
Now, as far as subjective opinions go, I do have my own personal take on this situation. I've criticized the writing of X probably a trillion times by now, and I do think a non-negligible number of people share similar views; I'm not unique in this at all. I do think overall pacing has also harmed the experience. I already brought up Sparking, which is when I believe the Burst anime was at peak popularity, and at least 50% of Sparking was tournament arcs. Now, I'm not complaining at all, these tournaments were absolute gas, Sparking in general was probably the biggest recent 'you had to be there' moment for the Beyblade fandom. But, constantly battling along with the hype moments and aura it brings absolutely helps with audience retention. However, Burst deserves more credit than that; it was able to mix constant battling with constant character growth and simple but engaging plot lines for the whole run. Just remember Sisco's run in the Legend Super Tag League, for example, absolutely peak stuff.
Anyways, I'd like to end this with one of my agendas: after season 3, X is totally getting GT'd (as in, soft rebooted). Trying again with mostly new characters and plot lines is probably for the best. If we can also bring back 12-ish minute episode times to assist in upping the visual quality (It could still air on TV, I still remember Bottleman DX), I think we would have a winner on our hands. The success of a Beyblade series mostly hinges on the quality of the story and writing, I think, but this would lay a perfect foundation. Now that I think about it, story-wise, X barely needed a season 3; the only things unconcluded was the Demon Dragon stuff, which went nowhere and was promptly abandoned anyway, an absolute nothing burger of a plotline, unfortunately. They totally could've just resolved that in a movie, actually. Remember when they dropped movies during Gen 1 and Metal Fight? Good times.

Actually that is the case here too, but in a different meaning. Characters are getting axed despite the series still running. But not axed as in they won't appear anymore, but... they constantly lose to hype up the villains. What they're doing with Fujiwara Burn is the biggest offense. Burn is supposed to be a Pro-Blader, very hyped up in S1, got an interesting plotline. Ever since he lost to X he became a dedicated fodder, like holy carp, even Bird has a better record going on recently.
King fell into the pitfall too, constant losses left and right. At least he'll climb up, but it'll be against opponents that X has already beaten so...
It does suck how they can't let their well liked side characters WIN against new villains.
And Nine has been pretty much on the sidelines for a few months for some reason, why isn't she battling? She's a new cast member, give her some plotline.

I didn't really touch on this, but I do agree. It seems like, on paper, Yggdrasil and Zooganic were set up for consistently appearing rival teams, with both of their leaders carrying an iconic Beyblade motif while also having some plot relevance initially. I fully agree with the point about Ginro, but that still pisses me off that they did him like that after abandoning him completely. I at least have some faith in Nine, though, since this is her debut season and she has shown consistent plot relevance despite not formally battling just yet.
Funny how Burn got some screentime and now Nine's getting hers right after I complained about it. At least it shows they have it planned, but still.
Robin is going to win against someone we'll never expect that's my theory

Plus Metal Fight 4D kinda ripped of G-Revolution with the Main characters gets their friends bey spirt and I would have to watch some because I don’t remember MFB because of how much I disliked it
kinda of a unfair point lol every beyblade gen rehashes one thing or another from the previous gen lol
Is the anime going on break starting from March? Anyone knows for how long?
Beyblade x is the best
So, I was doing a rewatch of Beyblade Burst Anime and honestly, being a Fafnir Fan since the Evolution series, I cant help but notice how much they nerfed Free post Cho-Z. I will admit, Free has the worst character writing after Cho-Z, from the Legendary 4. And I will share my issues with Fafnir too.
SPARKING:-
FREE:- The Sparking writers did Free dirty. His whole motivation for building a new bey was to get revenge on Lain after their debut clash. But somehow, he ends up being the only major character who never actually gets to fight him. Why build up a massive revenge plotline and then completely drop the ball on the payoff? Free should have been first in line to face Lain.
The writers didnt even take inspiration from Evolution, where after being beaten badly by Lui, Free trains intensely, unlocks Super Saiyaan Mode and Nothing Break and has the highest attacking stats out of a STAMINE TYPE BEYBLADE! and this resulted in one of the most iconic matches in that season, I still remember the surprise I had when the kid me saw Fafnir do nothing break and setting the stadium on fire. What I am trying to tell is, I didnt want him to unlock super saiyaan mode again and battle lain, but atleast we should HAVE seen a re-match of him and Lain again!
His other battles, interactions with the cast and all were fine but overall in terms of how well he was written in sparking:- 3.5/10
MIRAGE FAFNIR(only the base version, no combos):- Now, the issues not only lies with Free but also with Fafnir too. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved Mirage Fafnir and specially its counter mode against Left Spin Beys. But, The reason why I crashed out was, when all other Beyblades (of the TOP 4 specifically) got Dash Drivers (Unite', Destroy' etc),
I wanna know the EXACT REASON why they didn't give Fafnir a Nothing' or better, an Absorb'. Heck, imagine losing a end moment stamina battle to Longinus's Destroy' (great LAD) despite being a stamina type.

If they cant give Fafnir a dash driver, why not give it BURST STOPPERS at least?
DYNAMITE BATTLE:-
FREE:- I am seriously coping with what did to Free in here. Like with the way they handled Free, it would have been better had he not appeared in DB at all.
Like- He had a match with Bell which he almost lost but he dodged Bell's attack at the very last moment, and with a slow mo burst finish, he won. And, naturally, he was really mad at himself after that match, saying he hated how he thought he was going to lose mid-battle, and that he can never forgive himself for that. It's very in-line with how his character would have reacted to in s2 and s3. Episodes later he gets defeated by Bell, and suddenly doesn't gaf anymore, says congratulations to Bell, no anger, no sadness, nothing. Like, he was raging on the thought of losing and he lost, he is chill with that?? I cant say no more.
VANISH FAFNIR (the base version, no combos):- Vanish Fafnir, I liked the Beyblade but it genuinely seems like BEYBLADE MAKERS HATE GIVING FAFNIR A GOOD DRIVERRR! Like the gimmick of the Kick Driver should be:-
Quote:
"In theory, the outer ring gimmick supports itself when hit, relying on built-in springs to re-stabilize itself." -Beyblade Wiki
We have seen that cool gimmick work in the anime but in reality, it rarely freaking works. The driver just scrapes over the stadium's surface when it is attacked, further reducing the stamina and has a very bad LAD. The gimmick that should have worked, barely works and instead, hurts the beyblade.
I want to point out that ignoring the gimmick, what other gimmick does Fafnir have except Spin Stealing (the base gimmick of all fafnir evolutions) and High Mode shift (gimmick of all DB beys)? Yeah, it does have holes on the blade for shock absorption but with the driver it has, it rarely works.
Like in comparison with the top 4- Astral Spriggan (dual roation, metal for attacks and heck, even rubber for spin equalisation, Mode change between S/A/D) + Burst Spriggan (everything in astral but with burst lockers and Fusion'), Guilty Longinus (do I need to say?) and Ultimate Valkriye, what does Vanish Fafnir has except rubber blades that work only against right spins ones?
Like what defence does the base Vanish fafnir (no combo version) offer against a left spinning attack mode Burst Spriggan and Guilty Longinus? Specially Longinus, with metals that literally tears apart its Rubber Blades and it cant even win a survivor finish with that carp driver. It being the last DB bey for Fafnir, even if they ran out of ideas, they could have atleast implemented a remodeled gimmick of Geist Fafnir, so that its always not the rubber hitting the metal against left spin beys? NO, WE WONT. Atleast, give it Burst Stoppers? NO, WE WONT.
Honestly, as someone who watched Beyblade Burst from day 1, I am left with nothing but disappointment with how they handled My fav character and Bey.
