Welcome to the December 21st, 2024 Holi-Bey Bash tournament at Collector's Destiny! This will be the last ranked tournament we will host for the calendar year! We hope you come ready to give it your all with a blader's spirit burning hot enough to melt the ice!
Attendance
Venue: Collector's Destiny
Entry Fee: $5
Prizes: Store credit for 1st ($20) and 2nd ($10) Place!
Participant Cap: 24, though there is limited space and seating caps out at 16-20
To check-in, pay your admission fee at the store counter, then give your WBO information to the organizers and staff so we can ensure you make it on the bracket. Tournament check-in starts at 12:30pm, brackets will begin formation at 1:00pm, and the tournament itself starts no later than 1:15pm. If you know you are to arrive later than 1:15pm, please communicate directly with the store/organizer to keep them updated on your arrival. Otherwise, we won't be able to add you to the tournament, though there will be free play! The tournament is expected to last roughly two and a half hours.
Be sure to be signed up for the WBO, as we'll need your username to enter you into the tournament!
We have a number of local players who have expressed interest already! If you're in the area and are interested in joining our discussions, or need to reach the organizers more directly, check out the Rocket City Bladers Discord:

Format
Stadium: Takara Tomy Xtreme Stadium (we will have at least two for the tournament; if you have one you could bring, that would be helpful!)
The tournament is divided into two stages. In the first stage, battles will use the 3on3 format, and in the semifinals/finals, bladers will battle it out for victory using the deck format! The type of tournament bracket used, either group round robin or swiss, will be determined by the final number of participants.
For more detailed information about the match types or rules in general, please see the WBO official rulebooks (which we can guide you towards, just ask!). A brief summary of the match types we'll be using is copied below:
First Stage: 3on3
Build up to 3 Beyblades with no repeating parts to be your team! At the start of the match, present your deck to the judge and select your initial order of all 3 Beyblades in secret, keeping them concealed from your opponent.
Bladers battle with the corresponding hidden Beys 1, 2, & 3 to score points, and reshuffle their team if all 3 battles are completed before the match ends.
The first to score 7 points is the winner of the match!
Final Stage: Best of 3 Deck
Build up to 3 Beyblades with no repeating parts to make up your deck! At the start of the match, present your deck to the judge and your opponent, and then choose your first Beyblade in secret.
After each battle, the loser chooses either:
To replay: This means that both players use the same Beyblades again (no switching modes/sides!)
OR
To switch combos: The loser may choose whether to switch stadium sides, then the previous winner selects their Beyblade and reveals it, and lastly the loser chooses their Beyblade and reveals it (you can swap modes at this point!)
The first to score 7 points will win the set, and victory in the best of 3 sets will win you the match!
Please be advised that this tournament will make use of the following Ranked Clauses in addition to, or in place of, rules listed in the Format Rulebook:
7 Point First Stage:
First Stage Matches are played to 7 points for this Tournament.
Deck Match Type Stadium Rotation Change:
Switching Combos
A. If a replay is declined, the loser of the previous battle may choose to have the judge rotate the Stadium 180 degrees to swap sides.
B. Both bladers may then freely select a Beyblade from their deck to use in the next battle.
C. The winner of the previous battle must make their selection first, and then show that Beyblade to their opponent.
D. The loser then may select any of the Beyblades in their deck to use for the next battle.
E. Any mode changes should occur after both players have selected their Beyblades, taking place double-blind if required.
