When a language doesn't have the V sound, B replaces it.
Korean, Spanish and other languages do this too.

This is not the case in Arabic, but this is really becoming off-topic though. The point is that you should not think too much over how the letters are pronounced: TAKARA-TOMY just wants two words with the same starting letter.
