for the last sig, I think its better if you bring the FX to the text and NOT to the border.

It seems like you only have GIMP. DYK, Photoshop CS2 is Free LEGIT? Check the Adobe Site if you want one...

Try adding effects to make your logo's interesting. Just a thought..

My logos are simple because I like them that way. Smile
Simple, clean, and not a mess. (A mess is what happens when I use effects)
