So I saw there wasn't a specific thread for this, and the other Pokemon thread is over a year old already.

Honestly, over the years the show has been on air it has become a bit stale and repetitive, to the point where I just stopped watching after the Hoenn region.
However, the anime has a new series in XY where they travel to the Kalos region (which I only decided to watch after enjoying the X and Y Pokemon games).

I went into this having minimal expectations and having skipped Black and White and Diamond and Pearl. But, 11 episodes in (Japanese airing), I have simply been blown away. It feels really different to Best Wishes and I genuinely urge anyone to just have a watch to see if you're interested. They've changed up the animations of Pokemon to the point where it actually looks quite amazing instead of the same animations being reused over and over again for a move. The characters are more dynamic and Ash is actually smart-er in battles and life (possibly showing maturity?!?!?).

The first two episodes of the English dub have already aired on Cartoon Network on October 19 as a preview, but officially the dub will begin to air on January 18 starting at episodes 1 and 2 again. Whilst the Japanese air will resume episode 11 on January 9th.

I haven't been this excited for a Pokemon episode in I don't even know how long now. But if you're sceptical, at least just watch the first 2 of the dub to see if you like it. I have heard from many others who didn't like BW that they agree this is a refreshing change and is actually worth watching.

I'm not going spoil anything so if you haven't already you should go check it out, and if you have seen them already let's have some discussion about it!
Maybe for the time being, avoid spoilers in case people want to watch but maybe just give your general opinions and such.

Best Wishes was absolutely horrible but X and Y looks quite decent yeah.
DP was also pretty bad but the Pokemon League segment was absolutely spectacular, easily my favorite.

This animation looks pretty legit.

so i've seen the trailer but have not watched the anime...i want to know if the anime is cool not like the other seasons...can you please tell me?

From what I've heard definitely better than Black and White and possibly better than Diamond and Pearl.

It's worth checking out honestly.

As for bringing Brock back; whilst it's true a lot of fans love him, he didn't really have any character development in AG and DP and was becoming rather stale.

If he did come back in XY (which is highly unlikely), I don't think he would add much to the group dynamics, plus there are already four travelling members so another would seem like too many.

This series of pokeman is latest and wonderful to play due to missions.
