What do people think of the Pokethlion events to replace the beauty contests? I think it's a massively welcome change in personal opinion, a few of them look like quite good fun.

i used to love the bug contests i used to use a stantler that knew the catching moves: hypnosis,blizzard,paralyz etc

Defensively, Rhyperior is going to need Pokemon to fall back on when it needs to switch out due to its 4x weaknesses. Since Rhyperior can take most 2x super effective attacks because of Solid Rock, most opponents will simply send out a Pokemon with a STAB Water or Grass attack to OHKO Rhyperior. This makes Grass-types the best teammates for Rhyperior, as they resist Water- and Grass-type attacks as well as Ground-type attacks as a bonus.

i've used rhyperior before, i think a lvl100 rhyhorn could take down a lvl100 rhyperior

There's a few points I'd like to make.

1. Rhyperior is not OU anymore

2. Even in a Standard (OU) battle, Rhyperior can be used well and of course, better Rhydon when in a Sandstorm as Sandstorm gives 50% more Sp.Def to a Rock type if you didn't know. With some Sp.Def EVs and a Sand Stream user, it can take quite a few hits. If you don't like to use Specially Defensive Rhyperior and fear Abomasnow's ability, you can use a Blissey with her extremely high Sp.Def and HP

3. For some have said, Rhyperior is ridiculously slow. Those who don't like his Speed, you can use a move called Rock Polish to double his speed or Baton Pass some Speed to it
