For the second question the answer is no. Too much recoil.
[Plastics] :: Q&A Thread
Double Attacker (Orthrus/Orthos G) has more Smash attack in Right Spin.
However, I believe it is still up for testing on weather Double Attacker has more smash in right spin compared to Dragon Breaker + Screw Zeus in Left Spin.

Plastics Lover, as I said in Plastics Parts Discussion, Dragon Breaker + Screw Zeus (left) needs a mint ariel 2 tip to get the same kind of smash as Double Attacker (right), but Double Attacker also suffers a lot more recoil (though it may be slightly powerful, I'm not sure as I don't like using my mint ariel 2 tip or my double attacker, and I think the knowledge that could be gained from doing so is not really worthwhile.)
And as Shinobu said, you couldn't do that and have it work well, too much recoil. Weight Based Defense can kind of function with some of them (mirage goddess in right spin is probably the closest thing I know of to what you are asking about), but you end up getting much poorer defense and stamina for attack that probably isn't worthwhile, especially if you can KO launch decently (though that has it's ups and downs too, you don't trade off defense or stamina to do it). As for survival types, recoil is anathema to them, so no.
Upper Attack AR's can do a little better - pretty much just upper dragoon, which can be used on weight defense, though it doesn't really do much KOing, just a bit of destabilisation (I prefer Smash Turtle), and it can be used for Spin Stealing Upper Attack, which is as close to an attack-stamina hybrid as you can get.
Also, I know beywiki mentions using Upper Dragoon on zombies/defensive zombies to KO stuff but it doesn't work well at all (they're too tall and it still has too much recoil to be worth using without a fast-moving, aggressive tip).

Does anyone know which engine gear clutch base, has the lowest height?
Can anyone give me some information on either Zinrai or Hayate? I think they're both Hasbro only but I'm not sure. Are the attack rings any good? Information on these two seems really sparse. Apologies if I'm asking in the wrong place.

I am going to say that it would be bewteen Driger G, Dragoon GT, and Dragoon G.(This is a guess from looking at pictures as I do not have access to my collection at the moment)

The Takara-Tomy Hayate/Zinrai Attack Rings are quite powerful in left spin, they are actually top tier. However, the Hasbro versions have the four pegs on top of the for the figures that come with them. Unfortunately, the pegs cause quite a bit more recoil for the attack ring. On top of that, the Hasbro versions are illegal for organized play, this also includes Cross Griffon and Firecracker respectively.

Brilliant, thank you very much
While the Hasbro versions are much worse, I don't believe they're illegal. Just worse.
The bases of all Hidden Spirits are illegal, however.

Wolborg 4 and Rock Bison's are shortest height wise, but the height of an EG blade depends on the engine gear, which are all pretty similar.
As for hidden spirits, only Weight Ring and Hayate Base (hayate and co's wd/BB) should be banned as they were the only parts from them that Takara banned. Hasbro versions of parts follow the same rules as Takara ones. Our rulebook needs to be updated with all this.

May I ask why Hayate's base and weight disk have been banned? Is it the unorthodox design?
They were never intended to be used for competitive play by Takara, I'm pretty sure the documentation of the beys themselves mentioned this, but if not their site certainly did in the section for them (being unique, gimmick products they had their own section). If you expect an explanation, however, you will at best get speculation, takara never said anything. I am pretty sure they were designed to be non-legal parts from the outset, the clip on AR thing is not very secure (and only gets worse over time), which may be part of it. Of course, they are horrible, horrible parts anyway so it's not a major concern.
The Bearing Gyros series had the same AR-Only ruling from the outset, and were from a similar time, though in that case, Gyro Super (their weight disk) is gamebreaking and the SG wouldn't work properly as a regular beyblade part.

Ahh right, the hidden spirit series always intrigued me as a child and I saw a few on eBay for a decent price NIB which caused my sudden interest, thanks for the in depth reply though, much appreciated!

If you already purchased/own Driger G without a launcher, most people could sell you one for a buck or two.
If you aren't attending a tourney, many of the plastic people on here could probably sell you one cheap.
Thanks think I'll buy it!
what would be some good combos with driger f?
It depends on what parts you have besides Driger F.
my other beyblades are zeus, dragoon g, dranzer g, flash leopard 2, galman, trypio, rock bison, wyborg, venusian g, and black dranzer f.
There isn't much you can do with Driger F with those parts. If you can get Left Casings, Wide Survivor, and Metal Dranzer you can use it in a top tier Zombie, if you get a Dranzer S, Left Casings, Wolborg 2, Wide Defense, and Master Dragoon you can use it in an awesome Spin Stealing Upper Attacker.

Sadly, I believe he would have a very difficult time getting any of those parts at this point
For Ultimate Crown -
As ShinobuXD pointed out, you are fairly limited on what you can make, competitively that is.
For Attack, your best bet is probably to just stick with Dragoon G uncustomized.
Something else you could try that may be worth trying is:
AR: Mirage Goddess
WD: 10 Wide
SG: Right Engine Gear(Metal Semi Flat)
BB: First Clutch Base(Zeus Version)
Should serve as a decent Right Spin Attack custom from the parts you have.
Is there a difference in size between Sono Kong blades and Takara/Hasbro ones? I bought a Sono Kong Dranzer V but its parts seem mismatched when I make customs with it, such as the bit chip is way too small. Is that because it's sono Kong or is Dranzer V just a small blade?
Its because its Sonokong. Sonokong blades before the EG blades are incompatible with the Takara/ Habro blades.

Could you not answer stuff if you're not going to do it properly, please?
MrMisfit, yes, they're smaller, so they are not fully compatible. There's a link to my blogpost covering what does/doesn't fit with Takara/Hasbro blades in my signature, under the plastic resources spoiler.

Smash Attack:
AR: Double Attacker
WD: 10 Wide
SG: Neo Core Right SG
BB: Metal Flat Base
Smash Attack(This would serve as a secondary to the previous custom I mentioned)
AR: Triple Wing
WD: 10 Wide
SG: Neo Right SG
BB: Storm Grip Base
Defense:
AR: Upper Dragoon
WD: 10 Heavy
SG: Right MG Core North
SP: Defense Ring
BB: Customize Metal Change
Survival:
AR: Tiger Defenser
WD: 10 Wide
SG: Neo Right Double Bearing Version
SP: Defense Ring
BB: Customize Bearing Base
Personal:
AR: Triple Tiger
WD: 10 Balance
SG: Right Bearing Version 2
BB: Defense Grip Base 2
(This is one I had a lot of success with, I figured I would mention it)
Driger V2 with a 10 heavy would have success as well.
Driger S with a 10 Heavy would serve as a nice compact Beyblade as well.
You have quite a bit of top tier parts, I just wish you had a Dragoon V2, but the ones listed should work out pretty well. Hope they help.

I'm new to buying beyblades but would this be a reliable source to buy from?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Takara-Japanese-...4d0df1f0c8
http://www.ebay.com/itm/TAKARA-JAPAN-VIN...57591#shId
Also how much would the beyblades typically cost? Like how to know if they're extremely way too cheap and they'd be fakes?

Yes, a very reliable source. I bought from both sellers.
