Match Types: 1on1 & 5G
First Stage – 1on1 Match Type
The first stage of this tournament will be played using the
WBO 1on1 Match Type
Final Stage – 5G Match Type
The top eight players from the first stage will advance to a single elimination final using the 5G Match Type rules:
1. Matches are to 5 points- Outspin = 1 Point
- Knock Out = 2 Point
- Burst = 2 Points
2. Deck Construction: 5 Beyblades- Each player constructs a deck consisting of 5 Beyblades within 3 minutes.
- No parts may be repeated throughout each combination. See the "Multiple Beyblade Tournament Type Advanced Rulings" section in the WBO Burst GT Format rulebook for the full details on part repetition.
- Up to one Layer with multiple spin direction capabilities may be included in the deck (ex. Lord Spriggan). Spin direction changes for Layers with multiple spin direction capabilities are permitted. If both players want to change spin directions at the same time, the change must be made in secret.
3. Deck Sequencing & Inspection- Each combination will be placed into one of the five numbered slots across 1-2 deck boxes, or some other concealment and ordering method.
- We will have some deck boxes available to borrow at the event, but please bring your own if you have one.
- The judge will then inspect both decks to ensure they are legal.
4. Perform Battles in Sequence- Players perform battles following the sequence of the Beyblades in their deck box. This means that the Beyblades in the #1 slot will play each other, followed by #2 vs #2, and #3 vs. #3, and so forth.
- The match winner is the player who scores 5 total points first or the player with more points after all five Beyblades have been used by each player.
- If the score is tied after all five Beyblades have been used by each player, see the second bullet under "Draws" below.
5. Draws- If there is a draw in any battle, the battle will be replayed using the same two Beyblades. This may continue for up to two consecutive battles.
After the second consecutive draw, players must advance to the next Beyblade in their deck.
- If all five Beyblades have been used by both players and a match winner has not yet been determined, both players may optionally re-order their entire deck in secret within 30 seconds. Then, repeat step number four ("Perform Battles in Sequence") as many times as is necessary using their five Beyblades until one player has earned a point. The player who earned the next point will be declared the match winner.
Note: All other existing WBO Burst GT Format rules unrelated to the match ruleset outlined above will apply for this event.
Tournament Bracket on Challonge
As always, during the tournament while we cannot give you a set time for when your next match will take place, you are welcome to follow along with the tournament bracket on Challonge. Challonge is the management tool we use to run the event.
Have a BeyStadium or Deck Box? Bring it!
We will be bringing stadiums and some deck boxes for this event, but more are always welcome!
Any BeyStadium is fine for free play, but
Burst BeyStadium Standard Types (pictured below) are particularly appreciated. If you can bring one, please post here to let us know.
Deck Boxes or any container enabling concealment and ordering of 3-5 Beyblades are also welcome, as they will be integral for the 5G Match Type in use at this event.
