Next Gen Hardware Predictions

I'm not comparing them dude.

At least not directly. You keep trying to do so.

There's no arguing that the 360 is, at least so far, the PS2 of the current console generation as far as libraries go. As I seem to have to keep repeating for you, I expect if this continues then by 2010 or 2011 (whenever the next Xbox rolls around), the 360 will have a library with enough clout to be compared to the PS2's. Right now there's no point in comparing the two because the 360 is still having loads of new games released on it and its library increases every week.

I wasn't even trying to compare them directly in the first place but seeing as how you are unable to understand that I guess I might as well go ahead and do a direct comparison so that you'll leave me alone. Right now the PS2's library is much better than the 360's, there's no arguing that. But if 360 keeps up its current momentum with triple-A first party exclusives and huge third party titles (both exclusives and multi-platform), then it will amass a library large and good enough to compete with the PS2.

Yup, you're still going on about semantics.
No, I'm saying that the 360 will never have a library as good as the SNES or PS2.
We'll see.

Personally I can't wait to see you eat your words.
How on earth can you say that? Unless you can see into the future of course. No-one knows what will happen to the Xbox 360's library. D:
.....

Me predicting the 360 won't have the title of "top 3 all time game libraries" is the same is roan predicting that the 360 will crack "top 3 all time game libraries). I say it won't, he says it will.
No one can say for sure yruahippo, I'm just tossing out predictions based on what I see.

jesus christ i bet you are one of those idiots who play counter strike on a 5000 dollar computer and still turn all the settings on low.
Well obviously he can't know either. You just said it like it was a fact rather than a prediction. Uncertain

Still, I'm with Roan on this one. I dunno how long it'll take, but I think it'll get there eventually.

WTH? your comment about gaming lag makes no sense to me, come out of no where?

to summerise, you mean don't count Xbox360's eggs before they hatch?
I think this feeling that because we don't find the PS3 to be a terrifically good value means we don't want it to succeed is pretty childish. Particularly Roan and Artie, who've paid for and own PS3s ... I doubt they want the system to suck. They're just pointing out the facts of the system.
I'm not counting anything before it hatches you twats, I'm just saying 360 has real momentum right now and, as I continue to reiterate, if it keeps this momentum it will build a carp sweet library of games.

Ugh carp this thread you guys are honestly pissing me off. I'm out.
what does this have to do with hardware predictions
wth I was responding to FFX?
Yes, I mean don't count the eggs before they hatch, and there is a lot a lot of work left before the xbox360 gets anywhere close. Even at this rate (and it's not a ground breaking rate by any means) it probably won't get close.

And uh they were saying how I prefer SD over HD...HD has gaming lag at times, which is where the lag comment came from.
it's a good thing SD games never, ever la-
HD has gaming lag if you don't play it at the right resolution. Any TV made within the last two years even negates gaming lag. So what is your point?

yeah but not like game breakingly so

the positives of gaming in hd far outweigh the negatives

totally this.

if it is there, usually it due to image processing that can be turned off.

perhaps, but since I don't have those TV's and I can still feel the lag, I'll stick to SD. I mean ideally i'd get a 1080p lcd with <5ms refresh rate and some wired controllers, but still, it won't beat the 0ms lag of CRT.

Perhaps, but I just don't see the strength and the future acquisition of exclusives mixed with a superior experence of gameplay to beat it. Then again I never invisioned the DS catching up to the a 3/4'th of what the GBA offered in handheld play either so meh.
