In the battle to stop protonemesis did anyone notice that King never fought in one of the stadiums that was supposed to give Nemesis his power? Yet Nemesis still transformed. Is this an anime only plot hole that isn't present in the manga?

I think was said that anyone who has ever battled nemesis with their connections would have their power stolen too.
But that was regarding non-legendary bladers. Nemesis needed the power of the star fragments and how it was extracted didn't apply to variares. He didn't directly fight Nemesis or fight another legendary blader in the siphon stadiums.
