Cool, I was waiting for that. Those DVDs are still only available for rental in Japan, right ? I tried possibly purchasing them to be 'legal', but nothing has showed up ...

You can purchase rental only dvds when companies have to get rid of them off their shelves (if they're not renting out very well) and the people that purchase them will turn around selling them on yahoo japan auctions. Another way you can find them (to download) is through p2p like Perfect Dark. Rental DVD isos of many series can be found there.

Rental only is a very popular thing in Japan. Companies like Tsutaya make a lot of money with rental only DVDs. However, it is sad when your favorite anime in Japan can't be bought retail.
