Meme testing: Weiss Tiger 5-60 BS

First post!
Forgive me if this is the wrong area of the forum for it. Saw other testing threads here so assumed it to be right!

Just wanted to share some fun results I got from testing a meme/gimmick build I've been playing with.

Just to preface this: I'm a reasonably new player so my launch technique/strength isn't amazing.
Test results are from solo launches, alternating between rounds, using string launcher and Hasbro arena.

I love the idea of Bound Spike as a bit gimmick, absorbing the shock from big hits, and was sure I had read somewhere that there was a Blade designed with a similar concept.
Lo and behold it was Weiss Tiger, a blade that... to be generous, it not well looked upon. (*Yes, also Knight Shield, but meh!)
"Mastery Of Balance: Weiss Tiger is described as using the holes on the blade for shock absorption, similar to Knight Shield. The edges of the blade hang low to dampen stamina like Viper Tail, and the curve on the blade has an Upper Attack like Shark Edge."

So I had the idea to combine these two parts, a blade and bit, both designed to absorb shock.

It's an odd bey to launch, still figuring out the best technique. You have to be really careful with the BS bit since if you tilt too far it scrapes like crazy, however I've found best results with stall/drop launches or just flat launch.
It takes big hits very well, seemingly draining a ton of stamina from the opponents with each hit it takes (from what I could see), even recovering from wobbles after taking a decent smack which I found very strange!
Of course, it definitely lacks stamina, as you'd expect, pretty sure it'd go 0-10 against Wizard Rod, but against Attack types it's performed shockingly well, rarely winning on points but almost always tieing which, for a gimmick build, is pretty impressive! So maybe someone can draw more out of this combo than myself!

Still unsure what ratchet I like best, from what I've tested so far 1-60 and 5-60 seem good, but been meaning to test out others like 7-60 etc.

But regardless,
Here are my test results! Hope someone gets a chuckle out of it at the very least!

Like I said, it certainly isn't winning points wise, but definitely a lot of draws, which is wild to me!

There we have it, all the testing I've done for now, might bring it back out for a few more in the future (Feel free to suggest combo's to test against).

Thanks for reading!
WeissTiger on Bound Spike is really creative! I like seeing Bladers use parts that could synergize with each other's abilities on paper. Personally, I'd use 3-60 or 9-60 over 5-60, since those Ratchets are rounder and harder to hit. But at the same time, I don't own 5-60 as of writing this reply, so I have no clue if 5-60 is as better of a Ratchet as most people say it is.

Should this combo ever be retested in the future, I suggest having it battle against SharkEdge 3-60F.
Thank you, I'll definitely give that a try! Whilst I don't have Shark Edge, I do have Croc so will give that a run up against it.

My thought process behind 5-60 was, WT has an issue of having heavy centre mass/top heavy since the hollow edges of the blade are understandably lighter, so it tends to wobble easily/have low, I thought having a ratchet that reached out a bit more would help with the OWD/stabilize it. (or just running 1-60 to lean into the wobble haha). I'll definitely give 3-60 a test though! Thanks!
That's a smart way to approach that particular issue of WeissTiger. I've heard that Hasbro Ratchets are tighter than Takara Tomy Ratchets, so it might be worthwhile to invest in a Hasbro purchase that includes 5-60 - like Claw Leon or Chain Incendio - to replace your looser copies of 5-60.
Time for some rematches using 3-60, definitely feels more aggressive with this, many more KO's instead of OS's.

I swear I am not making these results up. So many matches that went 50/50 with 5 wins 5 losses...
To restate, I'm not an amazing player so my launches definitely aren't optimised (though this is great practice!), but I vary who launches first and such to get the best results I can from solo testing, which... could be a deciding factor. But either way, very fun/interesting!
Dang, Weiss Tiger got its work cut out for it. Perhaps the combination could work better with 9-60? That Ratchet is light, so it will exacerbate the Blade's issue of being underweight, but it provides excellent Burst Resistance in exchange - except when Bit Bursts happen; watch out for those.

The 7-sided Ratchets and 0-80 could theoretically improve this combo as well, since their bulkier designs would increase Weiss Tiger's weight a tad. I don't know what parts you currently own, but if you ever get these aforementioned Ratchets, I'm curious to hear about Weiss Tiger's results with them.
Yeah as you mention, I've avoided 9-60 due to it's light weight and not bringing much outward spin to the combo
But been meaning to test 7-60 and 0-60 could be interesting. Will give them a shot.

Shark Edge definitely seemed to be a tough match up, those smashes are STRONG, but I'm honestly pretty impressed it's managed to go 50/50 or better against "meta"/strong attack combos. More than I expected from Weiss Tiger of all blades after I heard how bad mediocre it is. Even MORE so for a gimmick build haha!

Thank you for replying, been a fun little experiment to test out.
As someone who wants WT to work as much as I do, I may have to give this combo a shot(when I get a BS anyway). Seems like it would be a treat to use in a limited format.
Wow, I forgot that Limited Formats were a thing for a second. I remember how much of a godsend that was back when I was exclusively collecting Hasbro Beys during the Burst Generation. I'm certain that roughly a few years down the line, Beyblade X will have a Limited Format, and I can't wait for that; it'll definitely make combos like this WeissTiger build be worthwhile in the competitive scene.

There could be one even sooner than that, with enough support! https://worldbeyblade.org/Thread-Format-...imited-BXL
A Beyblade X Limited Format around this horizon? This early?? Sign me up!

This will definitely give Blades like Tusk Mammoth and GhostCircle opportunities to shine, for sure!

Be sure to let me know if you do!

And if I ever find any limited formats near me will definitely give this a go! 😆

The P series changes performance mid battle based on its X and Y axis, which can happen at a moment's notice.

TP changes from Low height to High height. Low Flat to High Needle heights.
oh I did not know I don't have a high needle and don't have a low flat
