Chapter 1: Mega Man vs. Okko
Spoiler (Click to View)
Okko Light, the thirteen-year-old son of esteemed engineer and programmer Thomas Light, woke up to the sound of a custom blue alarm clock ringing the tune of the Anvil Chorus. Okko rolled out of bed, ready for the day ahead. “Good morning,” Dr. Light greeted him as Okko walked out of his room. “Ready for the day ahead?”
“The day ahead- Oh right! Today is your speech and the final day of school!”
“Yep!”
“What was your speech about again?”
“You forgot what my speech was about? You never forget things!” Okko shrugged and laughed. “My speech is about the unveiling of my ne- “, Dr. Light was interrupted by Okko’s stomach rumbling loudly. “It’s breakfast time!” Okko shouted, ignoring their conversation, and then he raced down the stairs, past his sister’s room, and to the dinner table. Sitting on the table was a bowl of Froot Loops in milk. It was a little soggy and gross, but Okko was too energetic to notice. It was the end of a school year! Summer was coming!
Serafina, his twin sister, came out of her room. “Will you stop that noise!”
“Morning, sunshine,” Okko sarcastically responded. Serafina fake-glared at him as she began to eat her own bowl of cereal. Dr. Light smiled at the two of them. “It looks like you two are excited for summer!”
“Yep, so excited.” Serafina said, a grimace on her face and sarcasm practically dripping from her voice.
Dr. Light looked at Okko, a silent question written all over his face. “She’s angry because her crush is going to a different school next year and she still hasn’t told him that she likes him.” Serafina gasped. “How dare you!” She used her spoon to toss Froot Loops across the table, which Okko proceeded to catch in his mouth. Dr. Light grinned. “I would intervene, but this is kinda fun to watch. So, Sera, tell me about this boy.”
Serafina glared as she checked her phone. “Whoops, it looks like it’s time for school, bye dad!” She abruptly stood up, grabbed her backpack, and stormed out. “Bye! Have a great day!” Their father called to them as they left. “You too!” Okko called back, a moment before slamming the door. Okko and Serafina were mostly silent as they walked to their bus stop.
At the stop, Okko turned to Serafina. “I’m sorry for that.”
Serafina smiled slightly. “Yeah yeah, I forgive you.”
“Although, I do think you should tell him.”
She rolled her eyes as the bus pulled up and they stepped on. Okko sat in the third row left, like always, and Serafina sat in the spot behind him, also like always, since they could discreetly talk through the seat’s gap, under the loudness of the bus.
“Hey sis, you know I’m right,” he whispered.
“Yeah, you’re always right,” she whispered back.
Okko smirked. “Did you know that he sits behind you?”
“Seriously? How did I not know that?”
“Simple observation, my friend.”
Serafina leaned back and then twisted around in her seat. Peeking through the gap, she confirmed what Okko had said. She slightly yelped. Then she leaned back towards Okko’s seat.
“Yep, he sits behind me! How did you know?”
“Like I said, it was just some simple matters of observation. You are usually so engrossed in your phone that you never pay any attention!”
Serafina sat back in her seat with a humph, earning a laugh out of Okko. There came a loud screech as the bus came to a halt at their school, and Okko and Serafina walked out, ready for school. School seemed slower and more boring than ever, especially with the tantalizing promise of a field day being held before them.
Dr. Light’s day was not going much better. His speech cards were not coming well, and he kept losing things in his nervousness. Eventually he sat down, sighed, and gave up. A speech would come to him later when he needed it. After a few minutes, he fell into a doze, and only woke up a few hours later, when a dinging alarm startled him awake. “Ah! It’s time for my speech!”
The white-bearded man made his way to the Robot Institute of Technology in his blue car, unprepared for what would actually transpire. As he was giving his speech, he was caught halfway through his speech by a loud whirring to his left. His ‘Robot Masters’, 6 robots he had built and programmed and was unveiling, had come to life. His former friend and colleague, Doctor Albert Wily, had hacked the robots, and was now controlling them from a remote location. The six robots walked stiffly out.
Dr. Light’s eyes widened in shock, and he stopped his speech. “This was not supposed to happen! These robots have great destructive potential when in the wrong hands! Evacuate!” He used his arms to guide the crowds out, and then left after all of them. His first instinct was to drive to Okko’s school, where they had finally begun their field day, and Serafina was working up the courage to tell her crush.
He drove up to the school, while calling the principal. “Hello, Prinicipal Polk. My son Okko Light and my daughter Serafina Polk go to your school, I’m Dr. Light. I called to tell you I am picking them up, because, um, a few robots I built were hijacked and are very dangerous.”
“Seriously?”
“Yep.” Dr. Light pulled up to the pick-up lane. Then, he walked to the office, waiting for Okko and Serafina. At that precise moment, Serafina had just told her crush, and Okko had scored a winning shot in a small soccer game. Okko’s team was celebrating, when the voice came from the megaphone, while Serafina was not nearly as joyous. Her crush was speechless, and she was forced to leave.
As they rolled into the car, Dr. Light asked them, “How was the final day of school?”
“Great!” Okko responded, as Serafina replied, “Blegh” and faked gagging.
Dr. Light laughed. “I take it you told your crush?”
“Ugh.” Serafina turned towards the window.
“How did your speech go?”
“That’s, uh, kinda why I picked you two up. The robots got hacked, probably by my former colleague Dr. Wily! They are very dangerous, so I brought you home to protect you while I help get the situation under control!”
Okko frowned. “Seriously?”
“Yeah.”
As they pulled into their house driveway, Okko ran inside. “Ah, summer is here! I’m free, free to be me, I am free as a bee in a tree!” He sang, happily hopping through the house. “Yeah yeah, school’s over.” Serafina grumbled.
“Cheer up, sis! It is summer!” He bellowed, before leaping onto his couch. And the day went on that way, Okko celebrating mercilessly and repeatedly pulling Serafina into his antics. Eventually, the day ended, and they all slept. In the morning, Dr. Light held a party, bringing all of their friends together for a celebration of summer.
The next day, Okko had become bored. Homework sucked, but at least school gave him something to do, so he decided to put his mind to work. Inside Dr. Light’s lab, he began to study his father’s technology. After about a week or so, he thought he had a generic idea on how everything worked, and he began to experiment with solar energy.
Two months later, summer was two-thirds complete, and his secret project was complete. He had built a super-suit that could manifest energy into blasts by using solar energy to recharge. The next day, a news report showed that Wily was finally ready to put his plan into motion, as the six Robot Masters were running rampant in Mega City.
Okko looked at his suit and smiled. He was going to put an end to Wily’s plans, no matter what. Putting on his suit, he began to wonder a name for his superhero persona. “Mega Man!” He muttered to himself. It was a perfect name. “I am Mega Man!”

Chapter 2: Mega Man vs. Cut Man
Spoiler (Click to View)
Okko/Mega Man smirked as he muttered, “Rock, power on!” He had designed the suit to incorporate an AI that Dr. Light had built named Rock. Naturally, he didn’t understand it very well, as most of the suit was built with repurposed technology in secret. Okko’s suit lit up.
“Good morning, Okko Light.” Rock said, in a male and surprisingly human voice.
“Good morning, Rock. Can you teleport me to one of the malfunctioning Robot Masters?”
“Which one?”
“I don’t know, pick a random one!”
“Okay, teleporting you to Robot DLM 02,” Rock said, as the world began to twist and blur, flipping and spinning at a rapidly increasing rate. The world began to rapidly fade as well, quickly turning to black, and Okko’s ears popped. He tried to mutter ‘Ow!’ but no sound came out, and he realized he couldn’t breathe. Okko’s heart rate began to speed up, and then as quickly as it had come, the world faded back to normal. Only this time, he was near ‘DLM 02’.
The robot was a dark red and light grey humanoid, with a silver pair of scissor-like blades attached to its head and two long transparent blades attached to its back. ‘DLM 02’ was fling the silver scissors attached to his head like a boomerang to slice through and destroy whatever came close. A few soldiers were hiding behind cover, and came out from behind their boulder. Then they opened fire. ‘DLM 02’ used the transparent swords on its back to slice the bullets through air, as the boomerang returned to ‘DLM 02’s’ head.
Then, with a single head motion, the scissors went shooting through the air, straight at the soldiers, who dodged and returned to their cover. Mega Man frowned at the rogue robot. “I’ll call you Cut Man after the, uh, cut-y thing on your head.” This drew ‘Cut Man’s attention from the soldiers to Mega Man. “Well, well, well. Who is this?” Cut Man said, in a fairly high male voice.
“I am Mega Man!” Okko exclaimed, in the deepest voice he could. “And I am here to stop your reign of terror!” The silver scissors went curving back to Cut Man’s head, and he pulled his long swords from his back. He shook his head left, sending the scissor/boomerang thing flying in a wide curve towards Okko, and then he shot towards Okko, slashing his swords, slicing long trails through the earth.
Okko lifted up his arm as his suit lit up, light shooting out from the center of his chest, where a cold white circle was glowing. Then a bolt of ice blue energy shot from his arm cannon, which caught Cut Man squarely in the chest, pushing him into the air. His scissor-boomerang-head-thingy went flying back, attaching back to Cut Man as he slammed into a wall.
Cut Man pulled himself up, only to get struck again by another blast from Mega Man’s arm cannon. He pushed himself up again, this time leaping into the air to dodge another shot. Cut Man kicked off the wall midair, slashing his swords at Mega Man. The swords cut a long line into the suit. “Rock, assess the damage!” He muttered, before blasting again. This time, he hit Cut Man in the shoulder, knocking Cut Man back.
The light had faded from Mega Man’s chest, letting Okko know he had to recharge from sunlight. “I have detected a long cut along your torso, causing an energy drain of 10%.”
“Can you fix it?”
“I can redirect the energy flow, but it will lead to a slight energy deficiency in your lower body. Should I?”
“Why not?”
Okko dodged another flying ‘cutter’, as the suit recharged. Then he dived to the side as Cut Man raced toward him, slashing the swords through the air where Mega Man was only a few moments earlier. The suit finally lit up again. “Rock, is there a way I can stre-“ He had to dodge another attack. “Can I strengthen my blasts?”
“No.”
“I guess I’ll have to upgrade the suit soon.” Okko muttered to himself, before firing another two blasts, pushing Cut Man back into the wall. Cut Man glared at him and then pushed the swords’ hilts together and twisted, and the swords clicked together. He began to spin the swords around, faster and faster, until he eventually let go, sending the spinning ring of doom flying in a curve toward Mega Man.
Okko ducked, dodging it. The long spinning sword cut easily through a wall, before reemerging and shooting back toward Okko. Then the sword returned to Cut Man. Mega Man shot him again, knocking Cut Man down. The robot was clearly taking damage from the constant battering, and dents were beginning to appear across him.
Okko dived behind the boulder the soldiers were still hiding behind to recharge. “Hey,” he panted, catching his breath.
The soldiers looked at him like he was an alien. Okko smiled nervously at them, and looked at their guns. “Ooh, can one of you shoot that robot dude?”
They only seemed confused by this. Okko’s suit lit up again, and he pushed himself upright and ran out. He shot another two bolts of energy at Cut Man. One missed entirely, but the other hit him right in a dent, splitting the steel where the dent had been. Orange sparks sprayed from it, and Cut Man quickly attached the sword to his back to wrap his arms around the ‘wound’.
Okko walked toward Cut Man, smiling at his victory. Rock interrupted his triumph by saying, “I will copy his ability,” as a small laser shot from Okko’s visor, and running up Cut Man.
“What?”
“The technology in this suit is very similar to the other Robot Master’s, allowing it to copy theirs and recreate its abilities. Would you like me to store DLM 02’s data?”
“Sure?”
“The Rolling Cutter has been saved.” Okko smiled. Mega Man’s suit began to transform, the dark blue of the suit turning into a maroon, and the light blue become light grey. Translucent replicas of Cut Man’s Rolling Cutters materialized on the ends of his arm cannons.
“I suppose this is the Rolling Cutter?”
“Yep.”
The colors returned to normal, and the cutters disintegrated. Okko turned to the soldiers, who were getting up. “Good day, and thank you for your service.”
“Rock, take me back home!”
The world spun around again, and Mega Man was teleported back home, still in his suit, where Dr. Light was, watching the news. “Aw, poop.”
“Okko?”
“Good morning, Okko Light.” Rock said, in a male and surprisingly human voice.

Chapter 3: Mega Man vs. Dr. Light
Spoiler (Click to View)
Thomas Light had gotten home 10 minutes earlier, and had sat down to watch the news. Shortly after sitting down, he realized the house was quiet. Almost too quiet. After walking around, he found that Okko was missing, so he sat down and called Okko. It was picked up on the first ring, but instead of hearing Okko’s voice like he expected, he heard Rock.
“Hello, Dr. Light. How are you doing?”
“Rock? I called Okko. Can I speak to him?”
“I’m sorry, Okko is currently busy.”
“Busy?! Busy with what?”
“Okko is currently fighting against Robot Master DLM 02, who he has nicknamed as Cut Man.”
“He’s fighting one of the rogue robots?! Have you warned him how dangerous that was?!”
“Okko built me a body, and all he asked me to do was help him stop Dr. Wily. I figured it should be simple. Do you have any more questions, Dr. Light?”
“Yes. GET BACK HOME NOW!”
“No can do, Dr. Light. Robots have three rules: One. Obey humans. Two. Do not intentionally cause harm to any human beings. Three. Protect human beings at all costs. Returning Okko home would violate rules one and three, as he is protecting other human beings with his actions.”
Dr. Light sighed. “If you refuse to come back, I have no choice. I will delete you.”
“Dr. Light, sir, I have to respectfully decline. You realize that deleting me would cause your son potential bodily harm, right?”
“Yes, it was an empty threat. But when you come back, Okko is grounded, and you are in hibernation mode for at least a year.”
“You understand you would have done the same thing if presented with Dr. Wily as a problem and after already having a suit that could solve it? In my robotic opinion, Okko acted valiantly, albeit a bit foolishly, and he is saving lives and the world.”
“I hate it when you’re right. It’s like arguing with a mini-me.” Dr. Light hung up.
A few minutes later, Okko materialized in the living room, right in front of Dr. Light. “Aw poop.”
“Okko? I just had a very interesting talk with Rock.”
Okko turned around slowly, smiling nervously, still in his Mega Man suit.
“What was that talk about?”
“Oh, just about your, um, adventures.”
“Dad, I’m sorry, but I saw a problem that I had a solution to, so I did it.”
“Rock told me that. I think you as a hero has potential, but you are definitely going to get hurt or killed without my help.”
“Seriously?”
Dr. Light smiled. “You’re a Light. That means you don’t give up, and if I stopped you, you would find a way to still be out there, stopping them. But once Wily is defeated, you’re grounded.”
“For how long?”
“FOREVER.”
“Okay, I guess that makes sense.”
Okko took off the suit. “Does that mean you are going to help me?”
“Yes, but first, your suit needs an upgrade.”
Dr. Light took the suit and quickly began to work on modifying it. “I can tell you copied DLM 02’s ability.”
“DLM 02? Oh, you mean Cut Man. Yeah, I got his ability.”
“I designed the six Robot Masters to each counter another, so that I could stop any one of them if they went rogue. ‘Cut Man’s, the Rolling Cutter, counters DLM 06.”
“Do you have pictures of each one, so I can name them?”
Dr. Light handed him a folder, containing pictures of each, with a label under each one.
“I’ll name DLM 01, uh, Ice Man. I’ll name DLM 03 Power Man, DLM 04 Bomb Man, DLM 05 Fire Man, and DLM 06 Electric Man- no, Elec Man.”
“Okay,” Light mumbled, mostly ignoring Okko as he tinkered. “Ah, here you go! I attached a hidden energy tank into the suit, allowing it to charge up some stronger blasts, as well as adding a thin mesh of ceramic titanium, the same lightweight material that made Cut Man’s cutter.”
“What were the swords made of?”
“Wily managed to create a glass-ceramic titanium alloy a long time ago for me, which I still haven’t figured out how to recreate, but I was saving it until I might need it. I incorporated small amounts it in all of the Robots, but I gave Cut Man the most.”
Dr. Light handed Okko the suit. “I also added comms systems so you could talk to me and I could guide you.”
Okko put on the suit. “Rock?”
“Yes, Okko?”
“Teleport me to, um, who is this strong against?”
“Elec Man.”
“Yeah, teleport me there. Why is it strong against him, though?”
“It is strong against him because the steel conducts the electricity away. Admittedly, it isn’t a very strong advantage, but you should be able to use it.” Rock’s words slowly faded away as the teleportation process began.
Mega Man materialized in front of Elec Man. “Okko, testing, testing, 1 2 3, can you hear me?”
“Yep.” He dodged a bolt of electricity.
“Aw, a superhero wants to stop us, isn’t that exciting!” Elec Man said, quite energetically in a high-pitched voice.
A deeper voice came from nowhere, saying, “Yes, very exciting,” as bolts of electricity crackled and buzzed around him.
“Um, mister robot man, I’d like you to please stop that.” Okko dodged another blast of electricity.
“Or what?”
“Or I’ll, uh, cut you in half!” The suit glowed as the dark blue turned to dark grey, and the light blue becoming a stark white. Two long swords materialized in his hands.
The deeper voice spoke again. “You can’t cut me in half!” It rumbled, as the speaker came into view. The bolts of electricity humming around the black humanoid united in front of Elec Man, creating a glowing, vaguely humanoid figure, with a small head and a torso that trailed off, and black eyes like coals set into its face. It increased in size, becoming as large as a human and then some.
Mega Man’s eyes widened as he slashed at the second being. “What is this guy’s name?” He grunted between each swing of the sword. Each time, the electricity only parted slightly and then closed back together. “My name is Steve.”
“Steve? Seriously? I thought it would be something cool, like Doomsday, or Electro!”
“Fine, call me Schizio!”
“As in, schizophrenia? No! Who would name someone that?!”
‘Steve’ glowed and then shot through Okko’s stomach, sending him flying through the air in a loud bang. The world flashed white behind his eyelids, as he slammed into the wall of a nearby building. Spots danced across his eyes, as ‘Steve’ and Elec Man stepped in front of him. Elec Man smiled and put her hands together. Sparks buzzed between his fingers, before become small bolts, and then larger bolts, attached to either hands fingers.
Smiling savagely, he flung the lightning into Okko’s face, sending scorching pain across his face, and then the world faded to black.
“Hello, Dr.

Chapter 4: Mega Man vs. Elec Man

Okko awoke in a field. A wide, grassy field, filled with yellow and blue flowers, with a bright, blue sunny sky above him, and a dark green forest off in the distance. And standing over him was a tall woman, with long black hair and wearing a long red dress. Okko’s eyes widened as he recognized her. “M-mom?”
She smiled warmly at him and helped him up to his feet. “Welcome, Okko.”
“Where am I? Am I dead?”
“Not permanently.” She said, before snapping her fingers. A TV screen seemed to materialize out of nowhere. The screen was showing the real world, and the Mega Man suit was glowing. Mega Man was glowing as he suddenly shook for a few moments. Okko felt a sharp pain in his chest as the world shook.
“See that? That is your Artificial Intelligence friend shocking you. After two more shocks, you will be back.”
“No, no, please, I don’t want to leave you again! Please!” He began to sob, and he wrapped his arms around her. She warmly embraced him. “You have to, my little hero. You have lives to save, and people to rescue.”
Okko rubbed the tears from his eyes. “So who was right about all-“ the world shook again, and he felt another sharp pain in his chest. “So, who was right about all this? Which big group?”
His mom smiled. “You will find that out later.”
Okko smiled, tears still in his eyes. “Okay. Will I remember this when I wake up?”
“Do you want to?”
Okko nodded.
“I will gladly put in a request.”
Okko pulled his head back. “Aha! You have to be putting the request in to a person, so there has to be a higher-“ He felt another stab of pain in his chest as the world began to shake again, holes appearing in the sky and the ground and everything, letting light stream through.
“Goodbye.” He said, crying again.
“Goodbye, my little hero. I will see you again someday,” Okko’s mom said, as the holes widened, and the world shook and rocked for a few moments, before eventually, the world peeled back into nothingness.
And then he was back in his body, feeling as if he had just woken up. “Ugh, I have the worst headache! And Rock? I just saw my mom.”
“You just saw your mom?” Rock’s voice was full of disbelief.
“Yeah! She told me I was dead and that you were waking me up!”
“Your heart did stop, but I doubt that you actually saw your mom. It sounds more like a near-death dream.”
“Yeah, but it was so real! I think it was legit!”
“Do you want to tell Dr. Light?”
“No. What I want to do is defeat Elec Man, get his power, fight whoever he is strong again, and repeat. What’s our power level at?”
“87.3%.”
Okko smiled. “Then let’s do this!”
Okko stood up, ready for battle.
“Ready for an electrifying round two?” Elec Man said, still in that horribly high-pitched voice.
“Shut up with the puns and fight me like the man- no, thing that you are!” Mega Man’s arm cannon glowed as electricity charged into it. Then he sent a blast at Elec Man. ‘Steve’, shot in front of Elec Man, absorbing the blast. He raced towards Mega Man, who dodged.
Then he quickly sent a blast at Elec Man, knocking him away. “Now use Rolling Cutter!” The long swords materialized into his hands, and Okko smiled, before slicing an arm off of Elec Man. Sparks and bolts of electricity flew between the two pieces, keeping it from falling. Then, he swung his arm into the air, so that the arm would fall back to its original place. A circular bolt of electricity formed around the cut part, and then used the heat from it to melt the arm back together.
Okko heard a loud buzzing and crackling, and instinctively leapt to the right, dodging ‘Steve’ as he shot out towards him. Mega Man realized something. The blades were part titanium, and titanium was probably at least somewhat conductive, so he could drain Steve out of the air if he did it right. Okko attached the hilts together, creating a longer sword. Then he plunged it into ‘Steve’, absorbing the energy into it.
“Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!” Steve cried out, as the sword began to glow and crackle loudly. Steve, who was slowly shrinking, disintegrated entirely, turning the sword bright golden. Okko clicked the sword back into two glowing gold swords. Then he smiled at Elec Man. “Steve is gone now, and my swords are packing quite a punch. Would you like to feel them?”
Elec Man’s eyes widened as Okko spun the swords, still smiling devilishly. “So, you wanna fight me? Or will you come with me peacefully?”
“Yes.” He quickly said, nodding his head.
Smiling, Okko scanned him, and Rock said, “We have acquired the Electro Beam!” Then, Okko placed a hand on Elec Man’s shoulder. “Rock, teleport us home.” The world began to spin and blur again, like It did every time, then the fade to black, the vacuum, and finally, they were home in Dr. Light’s lab. “I have returned!” Okko said, with his hands on his hips and his chest stuck out, in a superhero position. “And with a robot, too.” Okko added.
Dr. Light’s eyes lit up. “Now I can figure out how to reprogram them!” He quickly spun Elec Man around and removed a chip in his back, before plugging it into his computer, and code began to run up and down the screen. He eagerly began to type, rewriting lines of code. After realizing Okko was still watching him, he shooed him, saying, “Go get the other robots or do something.”
“Hey, Rock? Who is the Electro Beam strong against?”
“The Electro Beam is strong against Cold Man.”
“Take me there!”
“I cannot.”
“Why not?!” Okko exclaimed angrily.
“Because it would be too cold for you to survive. He has taken over an ice-skating ring, and has used the natural cold of the building to become stronger and spread outside, creating a base for him to become colder and colder.”
“I can take it! I defeated Elec Man and Cut Man easily!”
“Even with the warmed suit, you would get hypothermia within 5 minutes. It isn’t worth the risk!”
Okko scowled, and then turned to Dr. Light. “Hey, Dad, can you insulate my suit?” “And soon?” He added impatiently.
Dr. Light grabbed something that looked similar to an opaque blue water tank and attached it to Okko’s back. It quickly locked into it, sending warmth running along his spine. “Here is the Heat Projector, an attachment to the suit that warms you when you need it.” “Ah,” Okko sighed. “Now take me to Cold Man’s base!”
Okko felt the familiar vacuum pulling on him as he was transported to an icy cold building coated in frost and snow. The Heat Projector activated, protecting him from the biting winter that Cold Man had created. “Burr.” He said, sarcastically. The building’s doors were sealed shut with frost and ice, and buzzing around it were two penguin-like robots with a propeller attached to each one’s nose.
“Penguins aren’t supposed to fly,” Okko muttered, before quickly firing a blast at each. The Penguin-Bots fell out of the air, with broken propellers. Okko stomped on each until they were was twisted and mangled. “Rock, Rolling Cutter!” The electrified blades formed in his hands. Mega Man pushed a blade into the cracks between the doors, one at the top and one at the bottom. Electricity crackled from the swords, melting the ice that filled the crack. He slowly pushed them together, turning the frost and ice into water droplets that hung on the cracks.
Okko dislodged the blades, disintegrating them as he switched to the Electro Beam, turning the dark blue of his suit into a dark grey, and the bright blue of it became bright yellow. Then, Okko pulled open the door with all his strength, grinding frost into the ground. After a lot of pulling, he created a wide enough gap to slip through. On either side of him were dark green humanoid robots, each protecting the inside of Cold Man’s base. Each held a large shield and had a blaster mounted on its arm.
“Intruder!” They both announced, before firing a bright yellow bolt at him. Okko ducked. “Weak!” He announced, before blasting the robot on his right with the Electro Beam. A bolt of twisting electricity shot through it, knocking it back, before spinning around and then striking the other robot. “I’ll call you Sniper Joe.”
Mega Man looked around. Sitting on a throne of bright blue ice was Cold Man, a white robot wearing a dark blue parka with a fluffy, warm lining. He also wore white boots and gloves, had emerald eyes, and wore a white iron collar around its neck. Cold Man noticed Okko and smiled grimly.
She smiled warmly at him and helped him up to his feet. “Welcome, Okko.”

Chapter 5: Mega Man vs. Cold Man

Cold Man stood up from his throne, eyes blazing white. In his left hand, he held a navy-blue pistol-like weapon with a white handle and an icy blue suppressor attached to the end. “So, you’ve come to challenge me for my throne?”
Okko laughed. “Throne? No. I came to return you to my father, if you aren’t so lost in your delusions of grandeur to understand me.”
Cold Man’s eyes narrowed. “Do you want to fight me, or will I just freeze you to death?” He pointed the weapon dangerously at Okko.
Mega Man smirked. “Sure, fight me!” Cold Man smiled, before pointing the weapon at Mega Man, and clicking the trigger. With a quiet beeping noise, a sharp icicle shot straight from the gun toward Okko. Time seemed to slow as it drew closer and Mega Man twisted to his side to dodge it. The icicle tore open the suit, creating a long, shallow cut along his shoulder.
A small bolt of electricity merged the suit’s tear, which pressed itself against his skin, presumably to stop the bleeding. “Well, that hurt!” Cold Man smiled slightly, before cocking the weapon and shooting again. This time, Okko was more prepared, and he ducked, before firing a bolt of energy at him. Cold Man smiled as it froze in midair and shattered. “What?”
“I can freeze and cool anything, creating ice. Ice is frozen water. Guess what is in the air everywhere? Water vapor!” Sharp ice crystals formed in the air around him, and he smiled, before tapping each one, launching all of them at Okko. Okko blasted another bolt, before having to recharge. The bolt writhed in the air, instantly melting several, before Cold Man froze it again, leaving Okko to dodge the rest.
Okko leaned way back, dodging all but two, which sliced open two new cuts on either arm. Thankfully, the icicles didn’t touch his skin, only tearing the suit. “What’s with you and sharp objects?” He muttered, dodging another cold icicle. Mega Man blasted two more times, sending two crackling beams of electricity toward him. Each buzzed around in circles midair, before racing towards Cold Man’s ice pistol. One shot into his hand, causing his fingers to shoot out in all directions, dropping the weapon.
Cold Man didn’t bother to pick it up. “Meh, I didn’t even need that.” He reached out, as if to poke something, and seemed to touch solid air. Ice materialized at his fingertips, and then shot through the air towards Mega Man, freezing the water vapor touching it and spreading quickly. As the ice shot toward him, he blasted at it. The lightning only electrified the ice, which kept going.
Eventually, the ice touched Okko’s chest, and more heat poured down him to counteract the frost engulfing him. Holding his arms out to prevent them from freezing, he quickly switched into his original mode, shooting into the ice. When it only created holes, he began to charge again, as ice ran up the arm. “Rock, charge up a strong attack, ASAP!”
“Okay.” The suit glowed underneath the ice, and only a split second before the ice covered his arm cannon, he fired the shot into the ice, melting a huge hole that split the ice into halves. Okko then waddled around a little, before falling face first, crushing the ice into water and soaking the suit. “Rock, is the suit waterproof?”
“It is water-resistant. The current water in the suit should be fine, and I calculate only a 12% chance of it affecting the performance, and a 2% chance of a major issue.”
Sighing, Okko hopped to his feet, slightly slowed by the water. “Okay, Cold Man, I have something soon, so we need to finish this up,” he lied, “so is there any chance that you will come quietly?” Okko charged up another shot and knocked Cold Man into the wall. “That’s quite polite of you to offer, but I believe this!” He fired an icicle at Okko, before resuming, “should answer your question!”
Okko dodged. “Seriously? Fine! Then, I’ll have to do this!” He switched back to the Electro Blast and began to charge up an attack, while hopping, diving, leaping, and weaving between every single icicle Cold Man fired off at him. The suit began to glow and hum with energy, as he prepared to fire it all off at Cold Man. “Boom!” He shouted, launching massive bolts of electricity at Cold Man. Cold Man thrust his fists into the ground, creating a massive ice bubble around himself.
“Rock, make me faster!”
“I will re-route 50% of all power into the lower body of the suit.”
Suddenly, Okko felt like he was moving faster than before. He raced toward the bubble, leaping into the air high above it. Then, spinning around, he shot straight into it, foot first, cracking the ice. Okko slid off of it, hitting the ground with a thump. Mega Man began to charge up another shot, this time with the normal Mega Buster. He aimed perfectly over the crack, and fired, creating a jagged hole through the bubble.
Cold Man glowed blue from within the bubble, turning into a mist-like spirit that drifted out into the air, before turning back into its normal form. This time, it seemed to have metamorphosed, and was larger, with a large white head, solid blue eyes, and long arms. Each arm ended in a wide, claw-like structure with a glowing blue circle on either end. It had shed the parka, instead, it had a deep blue, wide chestplate, with a glowing white circle in the center of it.
He also had two long legs that ended in wide, flat foot-like structures that glowed a pale blue color, with white plates set along each. Pale blue triangles of energy flowed from the foot-like structures, twisting and shrinking as each fell. “I am the King of the Cold! I am the Permafrost!” The new Cold Man, aka Permafrost, was surrounded in white mist that flowed from its chest circle.
The Permafrost pointed a ‘hand’ straight up and fired a blast of blue energy that turned the ceiling a frozen blue. Then it shot straight up, shattering through the ceiling, launching large, sharp icicles downward. Okko looked up, seeing the icicles falling at him, and quickly shouted, “Teleport!” The world began to spin, and the last thing he saw was an icicle about to stab into his face, before he vanished, returning home. “Hey, Dad, I kinda, uh, unleashed a giant ice robot on the city.”
Dr. Light looked at him, confused. “So, uh, you know Ice Man? Well, he created an ice bubble and then turned into a giant robot that flew away.”
Dr. Light’s eyes widened. “Every single Robot was built in with a fail-safe. If in danger and infected by malware, they undergo a kind of evolution, allowing them to defend themselves from attacks and activate a back-up chip, allowing them to escape harm. I suppose Wily’s Malware Programming managed to reach through to the back-up chip.”
Dr. Light held up a suit that looked similar to Okko’s, which was seemingly bulkier and slightly larger. The new suit had a dark blue helmet, with a black visor that would hide Okko’s face, and a bright blue suit, with darker blue plates over the arms and legs, and with a wide, dark blue chestplate. In the center of the chestplate was a light blue circle, with a dark blue ‘M’ emblem on it.
“This is the new Mega Man suit. It uses ceramic titanium plates, with a special titanium fiber woven into the bright blue part. It also incorporates Rock, features a stronger Mega Buster, and can now scan the Robot’s Special Weapons with only a single touch. The suit also incorporates the Heat Projector and uses Solar Technology that is doubly efficient.”
Okko grabbed the suit and raced into the bathroom, switching the suits. Suddenly, moments before teleporting, the suit locked up, freezing Okko in an upright position. “Uh, Dad?”
Dr. Light looked at him sadly. “Rock told me that the power was going to your head, and you were becoming arrogant. I had to lock you in there to tell you that and try to help you out.”
Okko snarled angrily, saying, “I am not arrogant!”
Dr. Light just looked at him.
Eventually, Okko realized his dad was right, and tears came to his eyes. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!”
Rock’s voice returned as the suit lit up. “I detect he is telling the truth.” Okko hugged Dr. Light.
Dr. Light smiled. “I have designed something else in that suit too. I created a new weapon, known as the Magnet Beam. It can create platforms and fire a magnetic laser.”
Okko pulled away. “But won’t I just become arrogant again?”
His father responded, “I have faith in you. Now go take on the Permafrost!”
Okko smiled. “Rock, teleport me to the Permafrost!”
“That reminds me, the new suit’s teleportation device is far less disorienting.”

Chapter 6: Mega Man vs. The Permafrost
Spoiler (Click to View)
Okko found himself seemingly hovering in the air, about twelve feet from the flying Permafrost and about three miles from the ground. And then he began to fall. “Uh, Rock? Can you teleport me to the ground?” Only moments before hitting the ground, there was a quiet pop and he was standing on solid footing.
“Rock, activate Magnet Beam!” The suit changed from dark blue and bright blue to dark grey and light grey. Okko fired a blast at the Permafrost, freezing it in midair. “Okko, the power level on the suit is lowering rapidly.” Okko pulled his arm back as fast as he could, pulling Permafrost out of the air. He began to fall straight down. Okko’s Magnet Beam ran out at that exact moment.
The Permafrost’s descent began to slow, and he stopped falling right in front of Okko. “The power level on your suit is at 5%.”
Okko sighed, and stared at the Permafrost. The Permafrost pointed both arms at Okko, before shooting ice blue energy at him. Okko ducked, dodging the blasts, before sliding under it and shooting it in the back, knocking it onto its face. Okko leapt onto its back, calling out, “Electro Beam, activate!” The suit changed colors again, and he placed either fist on its shoulders.
“Rock? Can you attach me to the Permafrost somehow?”
His feet seemed to merge with the back of the Permafrost as it got up and, after not seeing Okko anywhere, it began to fly up again. “Hey, Rock, if I were to, hypothetically, electrify the Permafrost enough, would it be overcharged and turn back to normal?”
“Hypothetically, that would work, if charged with enough volts.”
“How many is enough?”
“600.”
“How many volts can the Electro Beam generate?”
“If at 100% charge, and you charge up the shot, you can get up to 550 volts.”
“What charge am I at?”
“42%.”
“How many volts would a charged shot do at 42%?”
“231 volts.”
“Would three shots of that overload it?”
“If you shoot fast enough, you could, but you would have to fire three times within 30-60 seconds. The suit would not be able to charge quickly enough to pull that off.”
“Is it possible to charge the suit beyond 100%?”
“Yes, but every percent after that would have an increasing chance of overloading, starting at a 4% chance. After 200%, the suit would overload, burning out the chip that contains my AI and exploding.”
“If I charge it up to, say, 110%, what would the chance of overloading be?”
“12%.”
“Can you shift the boundaries of the battery to 110% or something?”
“I can, but are you sure?”
“Yes.”
“I will.”
“What is the battery at?”
“93%.”
“How long until I hit 110%?”
“About 6 minutes.”
“Ugh. Can you play music?”
“I guess.”
“Ooh! Play, uh, Bohemian Rhapsody!”
“Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a something, no escape from reality.” He sang, even though it was pitchy and off-beat.
Six minutes later, after lots of messed up lyrics and out of tune singing, Rock stopped the song, only moments before it ended. “The suit is at 110%, and it isn’t overloaded yet, thankfully.”
Okko smiled, before beginning to charge up a shot, and then firing. The Permafrost, who was blasting ice and creating a long, frozen trail all throughout Mega City, glowed golden as electricity surged through it. The Permafrost was surrounded in an ice bubble, trapping Okko inside with it. He watched as the Permafrost’s many plates and moving pieces began to twist and click, changing its shape, until it had reverted into Cold Man, a dark blue parka returning to it.
Suddenly, the ice bubble disintegrated, and they both began to fall. “Rock, teleport us home.” There was a small pop and Okko was back at home, Cold Man lying on the ground. “How did you defeat him?”
“Enough electricity turned him back into Cold Man, thankfully.”
“Now that I have a second chip to work with, I should be able to find Wily’s Virus and isolate it, and from there, I can create an Anti-Virus weapon!”
Dr. Light flipped Cold Man over and poked him, causing a hidden compartment in his back to pop open. Hidden inside it was a box with several small buttons. He pulled out the box and carefully tapped five in quick succession, before slamming it into the ground. The top popped open, revealing a large square chip. Dr. Light slid the chip into his computer, and lines of code ran up the screen. Suddenly, each one turned red, and they began to delete.
“NO!” He shouted and ripped the chip out angrily. Thankfully, only a few lines of code were deleted, but his computer had clearly triggered a safe-guard that Wily had built. Dr. Light began to look over the chip, examining it to find out if there were any external differences.
He found one: a very small chip was screwed onto it. He knew it was probably a red herring, but he couldn’t make progress without trying. After unscrewing it, he plugged the larger chip into his computer. More lines of code ran up the screen now. This time, none of them were deleted, but the entire screen went red after a couple moments, before smoke shot out the sides and the screen went out.
Dr. Light pulled the chip back out. “Okko, can you go fight Fire Man?”
“Rock, take me to Fire Man!”
There was a pop, and Okko had only moved right outside. “Uh, Rock? Why are we out here?”
“Look up.”
Okko looked up, but there was nothing noticeable. “What am I looking at?”
“Fire Man is in the sun.”
“Fire Man is in the sun?!”
“Yes. His transformation was triggered, and his fight or flight response chose flight, so he flew into the sun, knowing humans couldn’t touch him there and knowing that the extreme heat and light would strengthen him.”
“Is there any way to get him to come out?”
“The Magnet Beam should reach him.”
Okko pointed his hand toward the sun, aimed, and fired off a thin green laser that shot all the way into it. The green laser remained there, and after a minute, something happened. A small golden dot appeared in the sun at the end of his green laser. As it quickly came towards him, he began to make out its features. Fire Man was a fairly bulky golden robot with a dark red helm, bright yellow eyes, a huge gold chestplate, and grey arms. At the end of either arm was a large red arm cannon. As Fire Man came even closer, he noticed the flames trailing out of its helm, and its lack of legs. It instead had a huge dark red cannon at the bottom that were shooting giant flames and propelling it.
Okko realized, probably too late, that Fire Man was about to crash, and it’s hulking figure was about to crush him with it.
