Meet Xander Fenix

Hi there

My name is obviously Xander Fenix (or is it? Dun dun dun!) I'm 30 years old and have been playing Beyblade since I was 8 or 9. In my town the first season beys were still being sold at KB Toys. My first Bey was Dranzer S. At the time I wanted Dragoon but I fell in love with Dranzer and phoenixs. My friends and I would play Beyblades everyday, granted I was the one who got them into it. At the time all of my friends were better than me, which made me mad. I practiced everyday to get better.

Skip several years later, and as a teen the Metal Fight series came out and I once again loved it, especially since I had bought some HMS beys but the season never really took off here in America. My first Metal Fight Bey was ironically Burn Phoenix and once again I was in love. I had bought alot of the Beys at the time due to me working but mainly to make sure I could customize my Phoenix. The only problem only a couple of my friends got into Beyblades at the time and in my town it was acceptable for 17+ year older people to play with toys so there wasn't to many local tournaments. Which made me feel left out.

Now we skip many many years later to when Burst started. After and underwhelming experience with Metal Fight I was super hesitant on picking up Burst Beys, and it would be until near the end of Turbo that I started picking some hasbro ones up. But I remember feeling let down by how they felt but still felt strong about it so I started Beytubing on YouTube. A friend I met Beytubing told me to order Takara Tomy Beys and my first one... that's right both Phoenixs. I honestly loved Burst until we got to DB. I had picked up each Bey up till Fafnir and started losing my passion cause making videos took away my fun for the game. I felt like I put it so much effort into my videos to not get many subscribers. And I stopped watching the anime and stopped collecting. (Really sad to find out later that they made a new Phoenix that I missed)

Now to skip one last time to recent history we got X. Now because I had stopped during DB I hadn't kept track of what TT was cooking besides what my old Beytuber friends were posting. I do remember joking that the logo looked like the new Twitter logo. But after playing the new Bakugan with my son my urge to play Beyblade again increased and once I read that Hasbro was releasing the same product that TT had released I was sold. Now I'm not sure if I'll start up Beytubing again. But I am currently starting my own local tournaments and a community to bring Beyblades back to life in my area.

Thank you for reading my history of Beyblades. Even tho at times I moved away from the game, the game has always been apart of me. And like a phoenix, with each generation my passion for it is reborn!
Welcome! The latest generation, X, is my favorite one. I hope it will soon be yours too!
