MF-H Omega Horuseus/Pegasis III 85R2F (Assault Mode)
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Hey guys! Here with another Limited Format Attack custom. I've gotten great results with this thing (perhaps a little, *Clears Throat* too good), so I hope you like it!
The Concept:
Spoiler (Click to View)
Attack attack attack...
This custom is an LTAC, designed to deliver the highest possible level of Smash Attack you can get out of the newly unbanned Omega Metal Wheel. Omega has some amazing contact points near the top edge of its wheel (the contact points on the sides are very potent too, don't get me wrong, but the angular contact points are the most prominent ones we're going to see here), which means its smash on a low Track can be extremely high. Like, really, really, legit dangerous.
This custom performs very well against a very wide range of heights, and can deliver powerful, consistent smash, with a surprisingly low amount of recoil. It's powerful, fast, controllable, consistent, and overall quite an easy combination to handle. I can definitely say with confidence that this is the most potent Limited Format Attack custom I have ever tested. While Omega is relatively hard to get nowadays, I can assure you buying one will be very rewarding.
Parts choice:
Spoiler (Click to View)
MF-H: A standard Attack part in Limited. MF-H lowers this custom's recoil significantly, and puts much more force behind its attacks. Being so small, tightly-shaped and low to the ground, this customer is still plenty fast/maneuverable when used with MF-H, so there really isn't any downside to using it per say.
Omega: Omega is the crux of this combination. It's shape is nearly perfect, with numerous contact points on its middle and upper edges that can provide unbelievably powerful, consistent smash against a very wide range of heights. It's got some relatively heavy-weight, which helps to control the immense recoil one should expect from utilizing such deadly contact points. It also protrudes low to the ground, which makes it pretty easy to utilize the contact points on its upper edge (the most potent ones) to get maximum upper smash, Omega's speciality.
Pegasis III/Horuseus: I cannot overstate how important the Clear Wheel choice is for this particular custom. My first Clear Wheel choice, Pegasis III, exposes this custom's contact points phenomenally, and the fact that it's over the 3-gram weight mark is no disadvantage either. It doesn't necessarily provide great upper smash on its own, but its unbelievable synergy with Omega is astounding. I've tried other wheels, like Kerbecs, Unicorno, Unicorn II, Aries, and Escolpio, and none of them came close to the unbelievable smash Pegasis III could produce on Omega against LTDC/MTDC (except for maybe Unicorno; drawing a fine line between it and Pegasis III is difficult, but I personally prefer Pegasis III for its weight and what it can do in a straight-on hit to the Track against a 230 opponent. Regardless, Unicorno is definitely an amazing choice for this custom as well).
And then, after I'd already conducted all my testing, I found Horuseus, which essentially does what Pegasis III does, except for the part where it throws 230 Defense through a paper shredder. So yah, Houseus is undoubtedly the best choice for this custom. Unfortunately, I have neither the time nor the energy to test it formally, but I thought I'd add it as an option.
CW choice is, again, very important with this combo. If you can't test with Pegasis III or Horuseus, use Unicorno or don't test at all. I can guarantee your results will be much different.
85: As stated previously, Omega has some great contact points side-on (better than most Attack wheels), but its real smash comes from the angular points on the upper edges of the Metal Frame. Additionally, it really can't produce much smash against opponents that are lower than itself (at least without suffering intense recoil), so exposing the lower edges of the wheel is unnecessary. That said, to expose the most dangerous contact points and to get underneath the opponent, we want the lowest Track height possible (8.5 millimeters, which is what 85 gives us).
This also allows Omega to hit other low-profile opponents side-on, which does produce slightly less smash than an upward hit, but the smash you can get out of it is still quite amazing; most certainly well above average to say the least.
R2F: High speed, maneuverability, maximum traction, and insane Attack power. R2F is among the go-to Attack Bottoms in all formats, and is an absolutely devastating weapon paired with the right wheel. I've not explored the potential of RF/LRF on this custom, as I'm conserving the condition of the ones I currently have for competition, but I would expect them both to work very well too.
The launch:
Spoiler (Click to View)
A normal sliding shoot should do the trick. Nothing fancy. Maybe a little deeper/harder against 230 opponents if it works better for you, but your regular old run-of-the-mill Attack launch should get the job done with this custom.

My R2F is quite slow, and has some trouble re-accelerating as the rubber on it is particularly dense, so my numbers are slightly lower than average, but nonetheless I used the same exact parts on Omega, so this will serve as a good mark to compare from.

I lost count of all the wall saves here. Omega just tossed this thing around like a rag doll (knocked it over the wall a few times, actually). Well, it definitely doesn't seem to have a problem with mid-height Defense types. Let's try LTDC and see how that does:

... Wow. Holy... gosh.
Is this concerning anyone else just a tiny bit? I was mildly concerned with unbanning Omega in the first place, but I figured it was fine since others had been getting different results (which I'm now sure was the result of Pegasis III being absent), but now... eeeeeeeehhhh, not too eccentric for the future of Limited's Attack meta to be honest.
One thing I really want to see are results against Bakushin, with comparisons to results against Earth (a friend told me this thing ran over Bakushin like a truck, but I'd like official results to make sure).
Yup. Pretty darn scary good results to say the least.

This match was a little weird... Because of the height matchup, Omega wasn't able to hit the Track directly like it could against RSF, which is considerably taller, so Pegasis III was the only thing making contact for the most part. Like I said before, Pegasis III doesn't have much upper smash on its own, so that can pose a problem. However, Pegasis III can have some angular smash if it can hit high enough, so there is a way around it. If you launch slightly higher/wider, you can come down and make a hit higher up near the TR, which gives you the height you need. After that things get pretty easy. Essentially, just bank less steeply to get a wider movement pattern and a more upright position, and you should be able to rip this kinda stuff apart (if you do it right, oftentimes you can get some metal-to-metal contact with Omega's upper edge, which usually blows the opponent across the room).
I'm really sorry for the low-ish number of tests guys. My budget is currently low right now (not to mention I missed a job today for a tournament I had already committed to), and I'm trying to avoid ware/breakage as much as I possibly can. I tried to cover the important stuff, so hopefully there's enough here for you to get a good idea of what this thing can do.

Work in' on it. Don't have anything super consistent quite yet as of right now, haha. XD
So yah, that's it. In a nutshell, this thing pretty much tears apart anything it touches... which could be good, but, looking at the benchmark and overall application of other wheels in the format, is honestly probably sort of not good. One person's results obviously don't mean everything, but after seeing how completely devastating this thing can be, I'd recommend we keep an eye on it.
I actually planned on using this today, but Dark's car broke down, and we were barely able to get Zero-G up and running before 1:00, so I didn't get a chance. Pity we couldn't have any tournament results, but oh well.
Anywho, post thoughts, questions, all that junk; but most importantly, if you can, post test results. That's a very important part to remember.
Thanks for reading!
