Ok, so I was at work extremely bored (waiting for a machine to cut out metal can do that), and I was trying to figure out a way to bring back beyblades that have a free-spinning axle in their base. I drew it out on some scrap paper at work, then made a quick picture on good old MSPaint:

So on the left is the track put together, on the right the two main components. The casing is made of a track split in half, with plastic halfway up to hold the axle and a small bearing in place (Think of Drigger F). The axle itself has a bottom like a track, where a tip can be put on (the little marks above it are for gripping so you can put the tip on).

What are peoples thoughts on this? Would this system be viable and be able to raise the usefulness of stamina types? Maybe even bring back zombie types?

Well I may use one of my tracks that I have two of and attempt making one of these to see how it would work. I just need to figure out how to get a really small bearing. If only I didn't give away ALL my beyblade stuff 7 years ago =(

@Jacksonian I don't think adding rubber to a spin track could help much with spin stealing

The tip would be pushing up against the track, so the interior wheel being above the bearing wouldn't do anything. You might want to put the bearing at the bottom between the track and the tip where it will negate the most friction. Alternatively you could put two bearings in there.

Thanks for pointing out my design flaw. I think I'll just flip the plastic that holds it. I'm too lazy to redraw the picture though ;

I have also been working on a miniture version of this to be place on a tip, a bit like sol blaes, but with better performance! i cannot make it as i have pretty much nothing to make it with, but i can help with the design!

you attach the tip to a special gripper, which keeps the tip on, and it's a way to keep it attached...

Yeah, the top is stationary and the rest spins, so you can grab the track at the bottom and snap on the track.

so you put it on the wheel normally and then the track and the tip spin? it might work, but probably not as effective as the other one unless it had protruding parts to increase power...

I've got an idea to help keep the track from spinning when trying to assemble it. ad a small tab that flicks up to keep it in place, and down when you want it to spin. this would also make it a multi-purpose track

So you squeeze it, right? So how does it fit snugly if it's free spinning? If you squeeze it, it would probably slip.

no, what happens is, the grip part is like the part that keeps the tip on, the part you attach the tip on can be pushed in and twisted hard to keep it from spinning when you put the track on, then after you twist other direction and pull out and it's free-spinning, the grip part cannot be squeezed, no part is squeezed, the tip just fits on very snugly which means that it won't fall off...

I just thoght of a problem that could occur in a battle. if you used this with rf, the bottom could stop spinning while the top kept going. and vice-versa
