Hello London! Get excited because we're continuing our summer event series: The Great British Burst 2023! This time the event will have a small twist. The driver Bearing Drift will be banned! This part has become a dominating presence in the game so for a little bit of fun it will be banned from this event. This will also allow for players to get a bit more creative and test out other parts. Bearing Drift is banned for this specific event, it is not a complete ban.

Tournament Matches: https://worldbeyblade.challonge.com/Begone_BDR

Below are the clauses in effect for this event.
Please be advised that this tournament will make use of the following Ranked Clauses in addition to, or in place of, rules listed in the Format Rulebook:
All Dual Spin Parts
  • The mode of any dual-spin Layer must be selected during the Beyblade Selection phase before submitting it to the judge for inspection.
  • After a combination has been submitted for inspection, the mode of a dual-spin part cannot be changed for the duration of the match.
Part Attachments (e.g. Xtend+ Chip, Xceed Chip, Zone Chip, DB/BU Gears)
  • Part Attachments (excepting Armor Tips) cannot be removed from a Beyblade for the duration of a match once it has been submitted to the judge for inspection.
  • If an attachment comes off during battle, the opponent is awarded 1 point.
Banlist Variation: Bearing Drift, Metal Bearing Drift Ban
  • The following Drivers may not be used in this tournament: Bearing Drift, Metal Bearing Drift

This will be a ranked event played in the Burst Standard format the rulebook is linked here - Burst Standard Rulebook. It is highly recommended to use the latest Takara Tomy beyblades.
The first stage will be played with the 1on1 format. The final stage will be played in the deck format. For clarification refer to Match Type Guide. It is recommended to bring at least 3 beyblades for the final stage.
We will be playing in the burst standard type beystadium.

This event will have a 30 player cap.

Time
The tournament itself will start at 12:00pm, so as a guide, aim to arrive before 11:45am. The Tube and public transport services are not very reliable, so plan your journey well in advance.

Remember to turn up on time. If you arrive later than the scheduled start time, your place will be forfeit and you will not be able to participate. If you know you'll be late, please let us know via PM, a post in this thread or in the UK discord channel and we will try to accommodate!

Please note that we cannot predict how long an event will be, as this varies based on the number of competitors and the ongoings throughout the day. In order to stay for the whole event, please be prepared to stick around for at least 5-6 hours.

Location
Regent's Park. We shall be at the Bandstand as always. Please check this thread on the day for updates. Here is the location of the bandstand on Google Maps. Click on the tab labelled "Monuments, Fountains and Statues". Head to the area marked Bandstand. We suggest taking the London Underground or Bus to Baker Street.

Prizes
Not this time, but stay tuned for future opportunities!

Hosts & Judges
This tournament is being hosted by Sowmi, and matches will be supported by volunteer judges throughout the event. If you have any queries about the event, feel free to PM us or post in the thread and we'll be happy to help!

Important Advice
Despite being around friends and rivals, please remember we are in a public area. Bad behaviour and swearing will not be tolerated and may result in a ban from future events.

Please keep your personal belongings with you. If you see any personal items left around with no apparent owner, please hand it in to the host so we can return it to its rightful owner. Your cooperation is very much appreciated.
