Hello London! Get excited becuase this is the start of out summer event series: The Great British Burst 2023! There will be regular events throughout the summer, so keep an eye out!

This is the Tournament link : https://worldbeyblade.challonge.com/Grea...h_Burst_23

This will be a ranked event played in the Burst Standard format so please be sure to familiarise yourself with this format via the rulebook, Burst Standard Rulebook. It is highly recommended to use the latest Takara Tomy beyblades.
The first stage will be played with the 3on3 format. The final stage will be played in the Deck format. For clarification refer to Match Type Guide. It is necessary to bring at least 3 beyblades.
We will be playing in the burst standard type beystadium.

This event will have a 30 player cap.

Time
The tournament itself will start at 12:00pm, so as a guide, aim to arrive before 11:45am. The Tube and public transport services are not very reliable, so plan your journey well in advance.

Remember to turn up on time. If you arrive later than the scheduled start time, your place will be forfeit and you will not be able to participate. If you know you'll be late, please let us know via PM or a post in this thread!

Please note that we cannot predict how long an event will be, as this varies based on the number of competitors and the ongoings throughout the day. In order to stay for the whole event, please be prepared to stick around for at least 4-5 hours.

Location
Regent's Park. We shall be at the Bandstand as always. Please check this thread on the day for updates. Here is a map of Regent's Park. Click on the tab labeled "Monuments, Fountains and Statues". Head to the area marked Bandstand. We suggest taking the London Underground or Bus to Baker Street.

Hosts & Judges
This tournament is being hosted by Sowmi and co hosted by RazzorC92, and matches will be supported by volunteer judges throughout the event. If you have any queries about the event, feel free to PM us or post in the thread and we'll be happy to help!
RazzorC92 will also have limited stock for people to buy if that interests anyone. To know more message them directly.

Important Advice
Despite being around friends and rivals, please remember we are in a public park. Bad behaviour and swearing will not be tolerated and may result in a ban from future events.

Please keep your personal belongings with you or in a safe place while at the bandstand. If you see any personal items left around with no apparent owner, please hand it in to the host so we can return it to its rightful owner. Your cooperation is very much appreciated.

OK I didn't know there are trophies for beyblade tournaments
Hello everyone,

The weather for the first is looking a a bit wet. So if by Tuesday it seems terrible I'll post pone the event, but if it seems bearable we'll go ahead. Would people prefer it if it were postponed to Sunday the 2nd, or by a week or two to the 8th or 15th?

If the weather's bad enough on Saturday then  sunday
2nd is better for me if we can’t do the 1st
Hello all,
I have decided we will go ahead with the planned date of this Saturday, 1st July. Of course it will be a bit wet so come dressed for these conditions. But fret not, we will not be kneeling in mud this time, there will be spaces for the stadiums so we won't be getting wet and muddy.
And as always, do not force yourselves if the conditions are not to your liking, but i do assure you iy will be fun to attend even if a little wet! I'll see you all this saturday!
Just a weather update: The area may be a bit wet but seems like we will be seeing the sun Grin
Hi all!

Following discussions with Sowmi and others, we've decided it's worth putting some important advice for those of you travelling to the tournament tomorrow!

It has been discovered that London is playing host to at least 10 events tomorrow, and as such, parking in Central London is going to be incredibly difficult, as well as there being a strong chance of issues like traffic congestion in the city centre, and on the motorways entering London.

We are therefore going to STRONGLY advise that you leave additional time for your journeys tomorrow to ensure you arrive on time, and suggest you potentially consider taking public transport from your local area to reach London instead of driving, such as a train or bus.

If you must drive to reach us, then we would strongly suggest you consider making use of Railway Park & Ride facilities within outer London instead of trying to enter and park within Central London, as the carparks for these will in all likelihood be less crowded, and cost considerably less than their Central London counterparts.

To use these facilities, all you will need to do is park and then make use of the attached railway station to enter the city. All these stations are within the Oyster contactless zone, and as such, any adults or children over 11 paying using contactless will pay a single fare of no more than £3.40 each way to Baker Street [the Underground station closest to the tournament location], and any children under 11 will travel for free.

£3.40 is the off peak fare between any station in 'Zone 1' of London's travel zones [the city centre] and Zone 6 [effectively the outer border of Greater London].

Below is a list of the best sited stations for Park & Ride that are within the Oyster Zones, and also near to major roads from the 4 major directions in and out of London, and their car park rates. Their locations and firther details are easily found on Google, and most will allow you to reach Baker Street within 30-45 mins.

ADDITIONAL NOTE - It has come to our attention since posting that there is likely to be a high demand for Park & Ride parking on Saturday. As such, we strongly advise that you try to reach whichever station you choose to use as early as reasonably possible.

Additionally, please AVOID the area near and around Wembley Stadium if approaching from the North, and the o2 arena from the East; You will NOT be very likely to find parking at stations or carparks near these locations, as there are events taking place here this weekend, and you will also wish to avoid them due to the likelihood of large crowds making travel difficult and uncomfortable.

Please make sure to also check your clearance to enter Greater London by car, due to recently introduced ULEZ requirements that cover the entirety of London within the M25 boundary.

THE NORTH [M1, A1, M40 - Scotland, The Midlands, North West, North East]

Mill Hill Broadway - Thameslink [B.R], sited just off the M1 motorway in Mill Hill. Car Parking is £8 for the day.

Edgware - Northern Line [London Underground], around 10 mins off the M1 at Mill Hill, follow signs for Edgware. Park in the 'Broadwalk' shopping centre's 'Commuter' carpark for a £6 daily carpark rate.

Bushey - London Northwestern Railway [B.R] - Around 10 mins outside Watford. Parking is £2.50 for the day

THE WEST & SOUTH WEST [M4, M3]

Hayes and Harlington - Elizabeth Line [B.R/TfL], Just off the M4 near Heathrow Airport. Parking cost £2.50 per day, use GWR limited-express to Paddington if train avaliable as this is quicker, and covered by Oyster fares.

Surbiton - South Western Railway [B.R], Around 10 mins in from the M25. Parking cost £10.50 per day. Use SWR limited-expresses if possible to save time reaching Waterloo rather than all-stops services which can take a very long 'loop' route to Waterloo. Weekend parking is £10.50 for the day.

THE SOUTH [A21, M20, M2]

West/East Croydon - Southern [B.R] - Around 20 mins into London from the M25. Park in the 'Whitgift' shopping centre's 'MyParkingSpace' multi-storey, £4.50 for the day.

Ebbsfleet International - SouthEastern High Speed [B.R HS1] - NOTE: This is not an Oyster-covered rail service, and is somewhat more expensive, but may be more convenient for those coming from Kent - Use the HS1 High-Speed service to St Pancras. Parking cost £12.50 per day.

THE EAST [M11, A12, A127, A13]

Harold Wood/Gidea Park - Elizabeth Line [TfL] - Around 10 mins from the M25, A12 and A127. Parking cost £3 per day.

Upminster - c2c & District Line [B.R & London Underground] - Around 10 mins from A13, M25 and A127. Use c2c services to West Ham for a fast connection to the Jubilee Line to Baker Street. Parking cost £4.50 for the day.

Newbury Park - Central Line [London Underground] - Around 15 mins from M25 & A127 following the A12 towards central London. Parking cost £3 for the day.

Shenfield - Elizabeth Line & Greater Anglia [TfL/B.R] - Just off the A12 in Essex, this is within 'Zone S' of the Oyster system, meaning a slightly higher adult fare of around £7 each way into London, although the station has a much larger carpark that is often very quiet at weekends, meaning a good chance of finding a parking space. Parking cost £6 for the day.

Thank you all for your attention, hope this is of use!
