General Yu-Gi-Oh! Thread

It'll be interesting to see how this shakes down for the meta. Suffice it to say, Effect Veiler is probably going to skyrocket in price, and Dino Rabbit is probably going to see a lot less play competitively.

BTW, is this change effective immediately, or does it take effect at a later date?

Actually, it would make more sense to me if veilers dropped in price, now that you can easily use bottomless without having to worry about ignition effects having priority. I suspect Rescue Rabbit will go down to 50, at least. Probably around the 30-50 range.

And, this change was effective immediately I believe... yesterday (April 26th) at 2PM when Konami notified all their judges.

Does anybody know how madolches are doing in the OCG so far? I've been messing around with it on Dueling Network against Kei recently and other people. I think it holds a lot of potential. I'll post the decklist in the other thread tomorrow if you guys wish to see it.

They are meh to me. They don't have enough support to be anything above Tier 2.5 IMO. This video really explains Madolche well Cute

im not sure whether this should be here
but i couldnt find anywhere else to put it
what deck should i get

dragons collide
generation force
lost sanctuary
Granblue, I HIGHLY suggest editing your post to remove that video. It's really inappropriate and breaks a lot of the board rules.

You really should have known better than to post something like that here...

Generation force is not a deck, it's a pack.
Lost Sanctuary died off (precisely Agents) after the banlist when Earth was brought down to one. The best two structure decks at the moment are Dragons Collide (Chaos Dragons), or Gates of the underworld (Dark Worlds).

Just got home from locals. I did very well, went 5-0 with Lightsworn.

Ended up splitting for top. Didn't pull anything good from the prize packs, but I was still really impressed with how well I did and how well the deck ran.

I played against Chaos, Dark World, Ninjas (with Simorgh & Sacred Krane), T.G. Stun and then finally against Six Samurai (who was also the other undefeated person, though I let him report as taking the win since my tie breakers were better than his).

Also managed to trade/buy a Brionac, Acid Golem, 2 TKRO and a Plaguespreader, so my deck is pretty much 100% finished now.

All in all, a very good night for Roan. Smile
Nice job Roan! I'm surprised you didn't play against any bigger decks. Were the TKROs Secret? Kind of hard to find those. I'm going to be going to the Toronto Regionals next Saturday, undecided if I'll play or not, even though I know for sure Kei will.
Yeah, I got lucky and didn't have to play any of the like 4 Inzektor decks that were there. Wind-Ups are dead around here, and no one can afford to play Dino Rabbit, so it's pretty much a meta of a few Inzektors and some tier 1.5-2 decks, like mine.

Naw, the TKRO are commons from Ra Yellow. I had two gold ones but I traded them off a few weeks ago, thinking I didn't need them, then I realized I really wanted to play 2 in my LS, so I got them, haha.
I know it's kind of a niche deck, considering everyone's locals seems to be Inzektor and other random stuff; but all the same --

HERO TV - A Yu-Gi-Oh Podcast Dedicated to Elemental HERO Decks - (EP1: Bubble Beat)
(Thumbnail image does not do it justice.)

I took a break from Beyblades for a couple of weeks to focus on Yu-Gi-Oh! After judging Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series - Dallas, I got inspired to put together this podcast. I've only had time to start doing it this week, but I thought I would share since I'm obviously not the only person on this forum that also likes Duel Monsters. XD

(P.S. I'm going to get back to doing Beyblade projects with other site members fairly soon.)
So, guys, here's a question: Hieratics - Tier... ??? Because they kill just about every deck out there now...
Hieratics are pretty much tier 1-1.5. I personally don't like the deck at ALL, as I think it's not even that insane, and to me the play style is boring. (Plus the deck gets a lot of dead hands with the high leveled monsters, and the fact that you're forced to run vanillas.)
Given that Hieratics are out now, I'm curious to see how this weekend's Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series pans out. :o Ultra Rare Mask of Restrict is being listed on eBay for $10.00+ now, with the common version up to a whole dollar! Seems like people "have a feeling."

I have played against this deck on DN many times over the past month or two and I honestly think it's really overrated.

The fact that I have been playing Lightsworn (which is easily a tier 1.5-2 deck) exclusively since I came back to the game and have never once lost to Hieratics speaks volumes about the deck. I think it will be popular but, like Dragunity before it, will quickly fall off the map in favor of more consistent Dragon decks, like Chaos Dragons.

While that may be true, you'll have to remember that DN is full of scrubs, and that it's rare to run into an experienced/good player who knows to not waste hand advantage/resources or over-extend.

We'll have to see for the next YCS. I predict that at least one hieratic deck will top, just because of the sheer number of people that will play them. (Even though, I agree with you that Hieratics are indeed over-rated and probably won't claim their spot for long.)
My favourite thing about Hieratics is using Inferno Reckless Summon in my version of the deck to bring out three Tri-Horned Dragons (with the first one having 0 ATK, of course, but whatevs). Eee

Anyways, I'm bringing Chain Burn to Toronto Regionals tomorrow. Should be interesting! This will be the first time I've ever brought an actual "competitive" deck to a Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament like this.
Well from my point of view, i think hieratics are good but not excellent.. Yes they do make some pretty pro otk or ftk but... its quite easy to stop them. Mirror force, bth, prison, solemn, krystia can basically kill them or stop them easily.

Anyways, i just wanna to discuss about gem-knights. Well,i see often see them underrated so i decided to try them.. Since i run a gemini gems, i can pull out a lot of otk combos with obsidian. from my point of view, they are stronger than heroes ( well they have some quite good effects) and plus gem knight fusion lets you recycle him like crazy. Also, gem knights have some quite interesting fusions that are almost like those heroes that jaden uses in manga... those 1 hero + ____ attribute ( but with 1 gem knight+ 1 ______ attribute), making them easier to summon ( sorry if this was posted in the wrong thread)
I hope you aren't comparing Gem-Knights to Hero Beat (Bubbleman Beat, etc.)...because it's really not a competition between the two.
I guess Gem-Knights are somewhat underrated, since they can easily recycle the Gem-Knight Fusion, thus creating multiple fusions in one turn, but at the same time, the deck doesn't have very many options whatsoever. It's either you fusion and keep fusioning, or you get pummeled down.
Yes you are right. Bubble beat is definitively better than gems. They too are easy stop. I run a gemini with obsidian boost and yes you are righy again heroes are better since a dimensionnal fissure totaly stops this deck while with heroes, it can power-up shining crazily. Perhaps i wasnt clear enough.. I meant to say as a fun deck XD and that people shouldnt underestimate them, just like gishkis, who are very strong too.
Did anyone else here that funimation is attempting to buy the rights to the Yu-gi-oh anime and re-dub it? Apparently the rights are up for grabs!

Would ya look at that. I love photon and this is my first time using them. 3 turn kill.

Could you please place a spoiler on that...?
And Photons are certainly fun, I picked them up when the cards first came to DN, but from my experience dueling with them and against them, they are not competitively viable really.
I can beat 'em with my Kitty Kat Kontrol deck <- ;D
just got three ra yellow mega packs from my friend... wanted to share the best pulls from the packs

secrete rare- cyber dragon
secrete rare- super poly
secrete rare- E-hero neos alius
rare- E-hero flame wingman
rare- yubel - terror incarnate

also got two thunder kings.. IMO, those are pretty good pulls
Everything on there other than Wingman and Yubel is a good pull, except Cyber Dragon isn't doing much right now. Pretty lucky for only 3 packs.
