General B-Daman Thread

Tumor...?

The difference is, choking is a lot harder to do. I've never seen anyone choke on anything, but I have seen people (including myself) get hurt via beyblading.

Just in general; kids are more interested in tops. Adults have probably played with tops as a kid, not marble shooting figures. They're more likely to buy someone that's a common idea; rather then a "too Japan" idea.

I think Neo~ is right though. We never got B-Daman in the UK, but we got Beyblade.

I think the main reason B-Daman didn't do so well when Hasbro did it was the fact that B-Daman is a minimum two player game while beyblade can just have one player. If you think about that then add in the fact they never did a single event there was no point to buy any unless you had a sibling who would want to play with you which not everyone has.

Also on the topic beyblade is a little more dangerous than B-Daman. Fast moving spinning tops and it is very unlikely shooting a marble at someone will hurt them or that an infant would get there hands on these and try to swallow the marbles.

That could be true. Seen as the states are the main testing country for products. I've also noticed in the UK now, physical games aren't as appealing anymore. Cardfight Vanguard and Yugioh seem to be the best sellers here.

I also think the anime is too EXAGGERATED. (The original run Hasbro did in 2005?)
I'm not saying beyblade isn't exaggerated; but at least it resembles what happens but more extreme. And the RC tops do resemble the show. And as Thunder Dome said, it's a two player game.

That's carp. Jeez, I saw an Arabic opening of Fighting Spirits for the Arabic Dub of Beyblade, so I'm sure they sold it there. You'd think the UK would actually sell these things.

I don't remember exactly. It's been 9 years since I saw the show; and I thought it was stupid when I was 5. I'll watch it tonight; and form my opinion.

Was he by any chance raised by cats? Because I think that was Yamato Delgado/Daiwa (Japanese)

Also to your subject about the show being a tad bit rediculous with the example I set up, well to be fair I have seen Tyson and Kai fly whilst having a Beybattle so...yeah

B-Daman Cross Fire's anime airs on an unpopular airing station. Vortexx isn't watched by as many people as Beyblade on Cartoon Network. Anime is usually the primary attractor for kids to get the toys.

I guess your right but back in 2005 Battle B-Daman was aired on Cartoon Network at one point and that was unpopular.

Yeah and since the channel only airs certain shows for about 4 hours each Saturday. I would often find myself forgetting it was on, because it only came on at a certain time on an unfamiliar channel.

Vortexx is being canceled and replaced by a new block called "One Magnificent Morning" in October, and replaces everything with educational and inspirational live-action shows.

Also, found this press release for a B-Daman Crossfire Trading Card Game.

With B-Damans current sad state, releasing B-Daman disposable diapers would probably boost popularity.

Oh well, at least B-Daman's not dead.

Watched an episode of Battle B-Daman.
So damn silly.
Why do these marbles curve and hit things easily? They make explosions. From marble.
(At least some Beyblades can spark)
The kid wasn't THAT bad, but the narration was annoying as hell. Why do I have a black woman that looks like a marble tells about this world; when I could learn more if she'd STFU.

I actually rather enjoyed the anime, which I watched a year ago.
Yes it's unrealistic. But so is beyblade. Living in a world where spinning tops can destroy stuff and be controlled is just as weird.
Yes the characters are weird, but beyblade has Ginga, Kyoya, Tetsuya, Tobio, etc.

Once you get past the weirdness, it really is a good show. Fire spirits was a joke though. I watched one episode and almost laughed. Not at the weird kid peeing off a cliff or letting one rip, but at the terrible voice acting and weird animation.

At least the Fire Spirits DUB does not break the fourth wall when in the JP ver it wasn't suppose to be there (you thought 4kids was bad, the one who dubbed Battle B-Daman and Duel Masters break the fourth wall which would be funny if it was ACTUALLY in the JP ver and yes this is why the Fire Spirits dub has some sort if advantage over the original dub). Besides I bet you haven't watched all the episodes (yes, its possible to watch every Fire Spirits episode but only in Cantonese)
