Gaming Random Thoughts
At first I thought I'd get a lowbrow type of response.
Yo guys, guess what game I found and bought from a retro store?
I'll give you some clues... it was made in 1996, it's a PS1 game, it's graphics look kind of like Star Fox except worse and it will give you nightmares for the rest of your life.
I mean... what can possibly go wrong?

Bubsy 3d?
Sounds pretty accurate to what I could think of in my mind currently.

That piece of trash better have been worth less than a dollar....Highest price it should be is 2 cents but that's just my thought on the price.
Also, was that game behind 10/50 other games or was it in front of them completely? Pretty sure the cashier if they knew what the game was probably gave you a questionable eye brow raise.

Highly doubt it because I bought this for £2.50 which is certainly more than a dollar. AND HOW DARE YOU CALL BUBSY 3D A PIECE OF TRASH... a piece of trash is better than Bubsy 3D
This game was actually bundled with other PS1 games so it was very noticable. At least I didn't buy Superman 64.
EDIT: I did own another copy of Bubsy 3D but my friend has it now so...
Ugh... Just why?...
If anything the seller should have paid you to keep that.

I don't know how I'd feel if I told people that I own one of the worst games of all time, even then.
As a proud owner of Superman 64. The reaction you can get is usually ranging from amazement or a questionable eye brow raise.

Dunno... I thought it would be interesting to have again because I gave my other one to my friend for his "bad games" collection.
Anyways, here is what I thought of Bubsy 3D (based on my opinion).
BUBSY 3D
This game is what you'd expect me to say... it's terrible. This low quality and unfinished product has clearly been untested and it baffles me that it made it to stores.
Graphics (Grade: F-) - Holy carp, it's the Foodfight of graphics. It is one of the worst graphics I have seen. Everything is a polygon and geometric shapes with colours that are too bright and contrast too much. I don't even think they would be passable for an Atari 2600 game. I have noticed some geometry tearing and some framerate issues which hurt this even more, not to mention the lack of textures make it seemingly worse.
Music and Sound (Grade: D+) - Probably the most passable part about this game and it still falls short. The music is OK, I did like the water level music and a few other soundtracks. The sound effects however are too loud which can distract you and they only play when the object with sound effects are in front of you. And of course... Bubsy's voice. BTW, why does Bubsy's voice get higher from his first game to this game? I know he has had three VA's but why did it have to be Lani Manella.
Story (Grade: D) - The story is simple... the villains want to steal the Earth's wool again but Bubsy is here to stop them. What's really flawed is that the Woolies call Atoms "useless" even though it's used to power the rocket. Also, don't look foward to the ending... I have beaten this game and it's not worth it (there are two endings).
Controls and Gameplay (Grade: D) - The controls are so stiff. Remember when Bubsy ran too fast in the first three games? Well I guess Accolade and Eidetic thought about slowing Bubsy down... except now he moves like a tank. I'm serious, he can only move foward and you have to rotate him in order to make him move to whatever direction you need to go making things like juming on enemies and collecting items harder than it should be. You can steer him whilst he is running but it's still stiff... however, I did get use to the controls quickly so it's all fine for me. The camera is disorienting, it pans down which I guess supposedly shows the landing but it doesn't work and can get stuck behind things. Again, I got use to it so it's not too hard for me.
Overall Grade: D-

Wait a minute..Hold up...There are multiple endings? Let alone a story?
Well I know in the 90s most of the games' stories are in the instruction booklet which ya know...Gave the gamers a reason to read the instruction booklet for context and sometimes giving character to some characters in said game if the game doesn't show it off. (Lookin at you Sonic Labyrinth)
I never knew it had multiple endings, I heard that it was bad and everything else that everyone heard of it before but as for the endings and what not. Never knew that existed, let alone was it considered at all. Learned something new today bout the game.

It depends on if you collect enough rockets. Both endings are terrible so don't bother.
I also forgot to mention that if you leave Bubsy alone whilst the game is still on then you will be treated with Bubsy doing wacky things like doing magic tricks, playing with a toy, messing with your TV settings and it's surprisingly decently animated. In fact, I think it's the highlight for this game. So basically... to enjoy Bubsy 3D, you don't play the game at all and just enjoy seeing the crazy antics if you leave Bubsy alone.
I'd rather play Plumbers Don't Wear Ties.
I don't know, Bubsy is pretty great.
I'd rather sit and watch Plumbers Don't Wear Ties, then. Pff.
I honestly was confused until missingNo changed his avatar. You guys make life all the better!~
Got above 200000 in every stage on PC NiGHTS.
I think I'm done, finally.

How good is the Nintendo 64 emulators netlink play?
i'm curious because i wanted to try something out and I want to here some first hand experience from those who have played or tried it out before so i can get this train rolling and rolling.
There's a reason why i ask if it works and am curious if anyone has it...

N64 Emulation is far from perfect, so I doubt Netlink would be any better.
